The TLC Triplets Are Here!!

On Saturday Aug 9 we welcomed our 3 little miracles into the world. It was a nice ending to a triplet pregnancy as I walked into the scheduled c-section. The whole birth was a total surreal feeling. My husband took some pictures of the babies birth and I still keep looking at them and can not believe that I really gave birth to these amazing babies.

All 3 babies came out kicking and screaming. What a beautiful sound that was!!! It brought tears to my eyes. The operation and birth went well, as expected but we did have one big surprise ~ our little girl Tia turned out to be a boy!!! He fooled 2 doctors and a few ultrasound techs!!! Instead of a Tia we have a Tyler! We are happy and very much in love with our 3 healthy baby boys. I just have to replace some pink items with blue J

The doctor pulled the babies out within a minute so they would show as being born at the same time of 6:46 pm.
Tyler weighed 5 lbs 4 oz, 18 ½ inches long
Conner weighed 4 lbs 15 oz, 16 ½ inches long
Luke weighed 3 lbs 14 oz, 16 inches long

Conner went straight to the regular nursery to be checked out and then spent time with me while I was in recovery. Tyler and Luke went to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with expected preemie problems and nothing serious. They were hooked up to monitors in the beginning which looked more serious and scary then it actually was but I am happy that they got the care they did. They both were breathing great but need help with sucking and swallowing. They are still in the NICU and doing really great. They are being bottle fed but still have their feeding tubes in until they can learn to eat enough on their own without getting too tired and falling asleep. We came home with Connor on Wednesday. I have been pumping milk at home to bring to Tyler and Luke in the hospital. Each day they get a fresh supply or milk and cuddle time.

Our schedule has been really busy and we are on a 3 hour feeding and milk pumping schedule. My husband has been incredibly supportive and helpful with everything. I could not have done this without him. I apologize for not posting an update sooner because I know many of you may have been wondering how our planned delivery went. Thank you for all your support!!! I look forward to getting caught up with everyone as soon as I can!

When we came home from the hospital we were greeted with 3 giant storks on our front lawn!! LOL

Congratulations Shelly! Tyler fooled everyone didn't he?? Don't worry about the feeding part. My twins were born at 34 weeks with the exact same problem. We cut up with the NICU team because we told them all our girls were wanting to do was "rent" a bed. It was a little frustrating to know that all they had to do was eat but they do tire out easily. One of ours was in the hospital for 14 days and one was in for 18. Looking back on it now though it is a distant memory. It is so hard to leave from visits especially when one is at home. We felt guilty about having so much time with our daughter that came home first but all that goes away once they are all home. Good luck! You are going to have so much fun!
