Just got back from the ER.
We just got home from the er. Caitlin had a fever this morning shortly after getting to daycare (thanks dh) so I went to go get her and her temp was 101.7. Went to the dr office and saw the nurse practitioner, double ear infection and an irritated throat. So, we get her antibiotics and are alternating tylenol and motrin. Well, she was due for tylenol at 6pm and I didn't realize it was about 6:45pm. We had gone out to eat and as we were leaving I noticed she felt really hot and she did this wierd thing where she pulled both arms out (legs too) and pulled her head back and shook a little making a grunting noise. I freaked and we took her to the er. Her temp there was 102.7 or something like that. They immediately had me give her tylenol and when we got in the room (finally) they did blood work, xrays, and got a urine sample (without cathing her). Blood work came back with elevated white blood cells and then urine came back as a uti. She is now on two antibiotics (they also put some through the iv) and we are to keep alternating the motrin and tylenol every 3 hours to make sure the fever stays down. After all this I have to get up and go to work in 4 hours! Once they got fluids and the motrin in her she started perking up, still a bit fussy but better! I will update you on her progress over the next few days when I have time!

Thanks for the well wishes! She is doing better today, still kindof fussy but the tylenol/motrin and antibiotics are working she is just sleeping a little more than usual (extra 30 minutes each nap). She had fun with daddy today, they ended up going to the park (they are having an art day at the park we live two blocks from) for a little while but when she got fussy he brought her home and she fell asleep. So, hopefully we are going on the downhill of this!

that's the only good thing (if you can even call it that) about when they get so sick- it usually passes fast. Sounds like an eventful weekend. I'm glad she's starting to feel better-- how are you holding up kelli?
