Playtex Drop-in Liners

Question for all the Moms who have used these . . . . . . . . .

With LP, I used Dr. Brown's BPA-laced bottles, lol. I am thinking of using these Playtex drop-ins for the next baby. What are your thoughts on these? Pros and cons? They seem much easier to clean than Dr. Brown's, more sterile also, but on the other hand, I would think it gets expensive buying new drop-in liners for a year (or longer as LP is still on the bottle at 14 months).

Also - I have seen women using these and NOT pushing the air out before giving it to the baby. Isn't the point to push the air out so the baby gets no bubbles?

Thanks!

I used the drop-ins and loved them. I started out with the Medela bottles, but Avery was spitting up so much that I switched. They were much better.

The liners aren't really that costly. I really never noticed a problem, though, they were were only drinking one or two bottles a day. Still, compared to the cost of diapers and wipes, I don't even think you'll notice. Plus, each box contains a $1.00 off coupon.

And yep, the point is to take the air out, though there were times when one of the muppets was so ravenous that I would bypass that. They still get less air because it compresses as it empties.

AM, we are using the Playtex Drop Ins and I LOVE them. It's so much easier for clean up and they do reduce gas - even if you don't have the time to push the air out first. Plus it's nice because I could lay the bottles out at night, set in the drop ins and the formula so that when Ethan woke up it was a quicker process - all we had to do was wait for the water to warm up. I don't think the drop ins are pricey at all. You get quite a few per box so it just depends on how much they are drinking and how fast. Ethan at this point is still on four ounce bottles every 2.5-3 hours. I will say the other thing that I loved is that I went from breast to bottle and the transition was so easy, he hardly knew the difference because the early nipples are so much closer to the breast then most. I hope this helps.

Thanks ladies, I appreciate your input!

So no real cons to them, huh? Sounds good.

Anyone else?

I don't have any cons myself. My friends thought they were too much work but I think it's the opposite. I can pre-plan so much easier with these. Plus unless you make a mess the outside bottles don't need washed as often. I always wash and sterilize the nipples but I only do the bottles themselves every other day or as needed.

I used the Playtex drop ins for Alex and loved them. He had reflux so pushing the air out was a necessity and they were great. I do think that they are easier than other bottles, especially when you're on the go. No cons here!
