Hello I am new here. I have been trying to conceive for 7 years and I am 30 years old. I am getting ready to start the gonal-f injections. I am new to this and not sure what to expect. I am also on Metformin and have read alot of threads of people who said the Metformin made them ovulate or have regular cycles. I have been on the metformin about a month and I am still not having cycles or any sign of ovulation. For those who the metformin did work how long did it take? Also anyone who had luck with the gonal-f injections? He has me on 75 IU is this normal for starting out? Please I am so lost on this.

hi i was on metformin but only a month so i can't really say if it works.

I did use gonal-f pen with my ivf and it helped as i was able to have a baby.

I believe with the metformin a low carb diet and exerise helps. I would stay on it no more then 6 months and if you have not gotten your period then move on to another treatment.

btw people who take metformin usually take clomid which both combine works better then just the metformin. best of luck

I never ovulated with Metformin, but I am on my second cycle ovulating on Gonal-f. My RE also started me out at 75 and then slowly moved my dose up every 4 days until I ovulated. I did not get prego on the first cycle, but they started me at the dose that worked on the second cycle so it was much quicker.

My RE put me on Gonal-F (75u) & it was successful for me the first time, unfortunately I ended up having a m/c but I would try it again. I see my RE in Oct & will see what the plan is.

I was on Gonal-F Pen with my first IVF cycle it worked for me as well. I was also on a bunch of other meds.

I also think the metformin made me sick besides the upset stomach. My Alt (liver) was high I think the metformin did that. I am glad I stopped

I have not started my 2nd FET there were some complications so I am waiting until I feel better before moving forward.
