PCOS and DESPERATLY trying to have a baby.

I know that there is alot of people out there that have PCOS and is suffering just as i am..And im just looking for some support, you know? Im really young, and engaged and me and my fiance have been trying for almost a year now to concieve. I look at all these little girls that walk around and are like "Well, the condom broke," or, "We didnt mean to get pregnant,". They dont understand how lucky they can be to just get pregnant like that. Granted, they may not be ready that moment in life.. But, at least they get to have that miracle. Anyways, enough ranting.
In the past year, i have gained over 40 lbs. . I dont know what to do. I try and try and try to loose the weight and because of the PCOS its nearly impossible. I figure, if i loose the weight some of the symptoms will decrease and hopefully it will be easier to concieve. I dont know what im trying to get at here.

But, if anyone has any tips, success stories, or just some support. Reply back to me. I look forward to speaking with yall.
I pray for all.

I also have PCOS and tried for years to get pregnant. The only way I was really ever able to loose weight was by really watching my carb and sugar intake. I actually went on a diet for diabetics. After I lost some weight I started seeing a Reproductive endocologist who put me on a diabetic med, Avandia, and Femara for ovulation. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant. Hopefully you find something that works for you.

You can get pregnany with PCOS... I was diagnosised 3 years ago, I do not have the weight gain side affect, so i was miss diagnossed for years. My RE was able to help me get pregnant thru IVF and FET. There is hope...I would consult an RE to find out options. I was able to get pregnant with Clomid, but was never able to hold on the baby past 6 weeks. There are many mommies here who have PCOS. Good luck to you....

Yeah.. i know there is hope.. just sometimes... its hard to keep that in mind with everything is... (Please dont critize this) Im still 17.. i turn 18 in 4 months. i know that you all think im too young and i shouldnt this early.. But, me and my 110& positive that we want to have our baby. He recently got a job for 500 dollars a week.. which is an income of 1,500 on him alone a week. And then with my income when i get my job will be over 2000 a month.. rent is only 500. But, im still living with my mom..I dont want her to know i am trying because she will completely flip out.. even though by the time i have the baby i will be married and living with my fiance and we will have enough money. We already saved up over 10,000 dollars in the past year. Ive gone through every aspect of it.. how hard it is.. how much it will effect our relationship..so please dont critize on my age.

Teresa, im happy to here that your pregnant. And i wish you the very best of luck

I have PCOS and was able to get pregnant with IVF. I don't think people would criticize you, but maybe caution and advise. 17 IS very young and if you are confident in your relationship and your desire to have a child that is great, but (don't take this the wrong way please) I am a completely different person than I was at 17 with different desires, totally different relationships, and an outlook on life that is changed because of my life experiences up to this point. Having a baby is truly a miracle and a blessing but I honestly believe that I am a better mom because I got to spend time with my husband as a married couple enjoying each other for a few years and got to be young and carefree for a while before the tough times of having a newborn hit. It is really challenging to have a baby and if you are prepared for it that is fantastic but your life completely changes in ways that you can't even imagine. You are solely responsible for that little baby in everything that they do and time is truly not your own ever again, I just hope that you are ready for that and won't regret not getting to enjoy being young for a while. Babies are also very expensive - diapers, formula, daycare, clothing, and things that make life easier like toys and swings all add up and while $2,000 a month is great, you would be shocked at how fast that goes - doctor's appointments alone in the first few months are pretty expensive! That all being said, if you are intent on getting pregnant you may want to talk to your doctor about metformin or clomid - both have helped people with PCOS conceive and may help you. Good luck.

I understand! You just need to vent sometimes. PCOS is not an easy condition to understand and many people who have kids and don't have infertility problems have no clue how lucky they are! I work in childcare and i see parents everyday who complain about their kids and i just want to shake them! I think the best thing you can do is try not to stress out and find some good supportive friends and family members. And of course you have everyone on here. Take care of yourself and try to eat well and exercise (hard to do sometimes!) Just keep up hope that you WILL be a mom one day. Wether it's through fertility drugs, treatments, or adoption. I believe if you want to be a mom bad enough it will happen.

The thing that is hard for me sometimes is that i take care of kids all day-but i love it! It can be hard sometimes but i am usually to involved in caring for them to think about my problems. Also almost everyone of childbearing age in my immediate family is pregnant right now, that has been hard! But i just try to keep my faith.

Have you tried yoga or walking? Those help me alot to relax and get some excerise. Or any pcos books? I highly reccomend the one's by colette harris. Well i hope that helps and remember your not alone.
