Totally Overwhelmed!

Hey gals,

I was diagnosed with PCOS back in December. I have to say, that I haven't been doing a really good job of trying to keep it under control. I'm taking the Metformin that my RE prescribed but I know that there are things in my lifestyle that I should be chaning. I was on Amazon this morning trying to purchase some literature. There were like 20+ books and I was trying to go through all the reviews but my head started to hurt. So I thought I would ask you ladies if you've used any books that you've found really helpful. Any advice would be great.

Thanks

I thought this book was fantastic: Amazon.com: A Patient's Guide to PCOS: Understanding--and Reversing--Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Walter Futterweit M.D.: Books It explains how PCOS affects our whole bodies, not just our reproductive abilities. It can be a little academic at times, but just re-read when you need to or put it down for a bit if it starts making your eyes cross and your head swim

As for changing your eating habits (I assume that's part of what you meant), this book has some good info in it: Amazon.com: New Glucose Revolution Guide to Living Well with PCOS: Dr. Dr. Jennie Brand-Miller M.D. M.D., Dr. Nadir R. Farid Dr., Kate Marsh: Books

Best of luck to you! I know it can be overwhelming at first, but PCOS is very manageable with the right information.

I understand how you feel! I really enjoy the pcos books by colette harris. I highly reccomend PCOS and your fertility: your guide to self-care, well being, and medical support by colette harris and theresa cheung. Both authors are pcos patients. I love this book it's like my bible! It's also great even if your not ttc right now.

I am new to this board and i have a lot of hope just seeing all of the on this board. It will be our turn one day.

I do have one book I love. Not about PCOS, but it's called Hannah's Hope. It references Hannah in the Bible and infertility. I also wanted to wish you good luck. You may remember me from February IUI board.
