Hi Angel,
I understand your frustration. I dont think the doctors understand what PCOS is, everyone has a different approach to it and believe me, I have been to atleast 5 different OB GYN's and they all had a different take it, the only thing common was - they prescribed Metaformin and said they dont know why women get PCOS. Hopefully someday soon there will be a better information and research on this silent killer!

You said you've Googled a lot, but have you read any books on PCOS? I found Amazon.com: A Patient's Guide to PCOS: Understanding--and Reversing--Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Walter Futterweit M.D.: Books awhile back and I really liked it. There is a lot of information in there and the measures to take to keep yourself in the best possible health.
And while PCOS isn't exactly curable, it can go into a sort of remission if you can get to and maintain a healthy weight. Like that's so easy with the insulin resistance.. I know ![]() |
