Hey ladies I was diagnosed with PCOS in June. Prometrium did not work at all. I did a vaginal ultrasound and the doctor stated that I have follicles, but they were not maturing. I was prescribed Metformin and I took the first pill on 7/01/09....when should I expect to see ? I haven't had a cycle in over 8 months. I used to have cycles with birth controls but once I got off of BC my cycles stopped completely . I know that everyone body works different I just wanted to get some advice. Thanks....any information would help.

I too have PCOS. Metformin on its own didnt make me have AF. Prometrium didnt work either. Provera did the trick. hang in there... it took awhile... I ended up doing injectibles... but now I have a 3 month old miracle sleeping next to me I know it was a hard road... but looking back on it, it doesnt seem so bad... once you have your baby... you will forget about how hard it was to concieve. When I was doing injectibles I thought "No way can I ever do this again.... if this doesnt work there's no way I can put myself through this..." but once I got pregnant I looked back and thought " I would do it all again tomorrow if I had to" PCOS sucks but there is definitely hope

I had the same issues as you too. I only had one AF in the entire year after I went off BCP. Metformin brought back my cycles, but they were still 44-45 days long. I tried Letrozole and Gonal-F, but we conceived our DD on the first round of Menopur. I never thought I'd move to injectibles so fast, but once I did it wasn't a big deal at all. Good luck!!
