Hi Everyone,
I have an apt. with a fertility specialist in two weeks...I've been absolutely torturing myself in the meantime ...about what may or may not be wrong with me. Does this sound like PCOS? I have a few of the symptoms..but not the most common ones. Here goes:
I am average weight & I have my period every 28 days. I ovulate every month around day 14 or 15. My period lasts for about 3 full days with a day or two of spotting on each end. (All of these things, minus the spotting make me think I"m ok)
Here comes the PCOS symptoms:
I have mild? hirsutism. I get dark hairs around my nipples, that I have to pluck weekly. I will also get a stray dark hair or two on my neck.
I also have moderate acne....especially on my jawline. My acne sometimes seems non existent, but other times during the month I have some big flair ups.
So that's my story...I really hope my dx isn't too complicated. We are currently dealing with my husbands infertility problems as well. It's all so very stressful!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you go in for your appt your RE may suggest an internal ultrasound and a blood test. Both will let you know about PCOS. The fact that your periods are regular, you ovulate on a regular basis, and you are average weight... I'm not sure PCOS is the problem. It's hard to tell w/o the ultrasound. I am average weight, had 3 periods (if that) a year, never had ovulated, acne, and the ultrasound is what sealed the deal.
I know you many unanswered questions, we all did just starting out. But until you have a diagnosis (or unexplained prognosis) it really is just guessing.
I wish you all the luck and hope you get your answers soon. The waiting is the worst part of this IF game.

my sister is average weight and got her cycle regularly but has PCOS. She had the dark hair growth as well. It was a milder case. She got pregnant using just Clomid. It took quite a few months but it worked.
