New to this web site but not infertility
Hello I just wanted to introduce my self. I have been struggling with infertility for 3 years now. I've had 7 IUI cycles that were cancelled and one IVF cycle that was recently cancelled. I am a poor responder to medication. But I seem to respond well to Marvelon which I hate. I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago when I started my infertility journey. Although I think I've had it for longer than that, but all the doctors told me that me not getting my menstral cycle was from my being overweight. But I now know that its all from the PCOS.

I can completely relate. When I was taking BC pills it totally help to regulate me. When I went off of them 3 years ago by body went crazy! I gained like 50 punds and stopped having my cycle. I was just diagnosed with PCOS this year after so many doctors saying just lose weight or don't stress. Well I lost 15 pounds and was taking yoga and still nothing!! It is a frustrating condition. Has your doctor tried Femara with you? It is an alternative to clomid and it seems to be working for me. I will find out in a week or so if I have a BFP. Good luck to you and just know that there are people like me out there that understand EXACTLY how you feel.

Married for 8 years TTC for 2 1/2 years Have not O on my own for 2 years 1-1-09 Diagnosed with PCOS 6-15-09 first round of clomid  8-15-09 met with Fertility Specialist 8-23-09 had HSG -VERY PAINFUL but everything is OK 9-1-09 Went on BC pills to help regulate me 10-7-09 1st day taking Femara CD 5-9 10-18-09 Met with RE for ultrasound and trigger shot. 3 follies measuring 22, 19 and 18  11-3-09 11-05-09 CD 1 11-09-09 Started femara days 5-9 11-19-09 2 follies measuring 23 and 26! 11-20-09 8:30 am IUI scheduled.

Hi Ryles
As you can see from my signature I have tried femara, puregon. I am now waiting for my 2nf ivf cycle, my RE has said that if this doesn't work we should look at donor eggs or consider adpotion.

Are you on Metformin??? Have you had your testosterone levels measured? My RE is convinced that mine were just high enough to affect the quality of my eggs. I wonder if that's your issue too? PCOS is manageable but you gotta get your hormones and your weight under control. I know its easier said than done. Well dang brneyedgirl!
Sorry the Metformin wasn't your miracle pill....Are you seeing any benefits from it? Maybe you aren't taking enough? I see you've switched clinics once already. Are you seeing a doctor who specializes in PCOS? I wish I knew the answer for you, but it just seems like surely the drs are missing something. I forget how they test for it, but do you have diminished ovarian reserve? Have they told you why they think you aren't responding to the drugs? Have you tried to go the herbal route? Maybe see an acupuncturist or try a soy & cinnamon route. Sorry for all the questions/suggestions but I'm just trying to be helpful....
