Has anyone ever had this?

I've been having pain in my right abbomen, and thought for sure it was my gallbladder and had testing done and it came back negative for my gallbladder. My friend said that maybe it was a cyst on my ovaries. I've never had an ultrasound of my ovaries, I was diagnosed with PCOS by lab work and symptoms. Has anyone ever heard of having pain that far up with a cyst?

no not about having a sist but did they tell you that one overy was larger than the other. if they told you that that is the case you know what happend to me. I was diegnosed with pcos and they told me that i had an overy larger than the other, and i had lots of pain but i went with a women that lifted my overies because she said that they were really low and guess what i dont have that pain any more. but tell me somthing when you feel under you tummy like right on top of your privte part do you feel a like a little ball that means its your overy and you might have to go with one of them mexican ladies that do that kind of stuff. well tell me if it is that you feel what i asked and write back.

I think that pain from an ovarian cyst could radiate to higher in the abdomen. I think it would be a good idea to have an ultrasound done to find out exactly what's going on with your ovaries. Have you asked your doctor to do this?

Endo

I have left sided pain. I also have endometriosis. I dont think it would be that far up but then again i have endo in some very strange places. Most women have enod and dont even know it. Im a big advocate for that, especially since mine is the cause of my infertility and i was medically retired from the USAF b/c i was always so sick.

I developed a cyst on my ovary after a IUI cycle on clomid. Didn't have sx. except for 2 weeks late on period. I had a pelvic U/S and that's when they found the cyst. The RE told me if I did expierence any abd. pain to let them know because it is possible for your ovary to twist. If you know you have a cyst and your having pain.... I suggest you get it checked out. I am not only speaking from personal experience, but I am also a nurse. It could be unrelated, however a pelvic U/S could rule out any probs.

i also got a cyst using clomid. My cyst causeed me to have to have emergency surgery. It was 6cm on my left ovary i was in so much pain. It was just awful. but i was only on clomid for 4 mos and we never went up on the dose. I stayed on the lowest dose which is 50mg on cycle dasy 3-7.

I've had pain on the right and left sides due to ovarian cysts. My pain is usually below my stomach and belly button and sometimes runs across the center of my pelvis. One time the pain was so bad, I thought I had appendicitis! I was a teenager at the time and was begging my mom to take me to the emergency room. All of a sudden I got a really sharp intense pain and then it was gone. The next day when I went to the doctor, my ultrasound showed fluid from a cyst that ruptured.

I would definitely recommend an ultrasound to see what is going on in there.

Thanks for all the information. I'm still dealing with the pain, I asked my GI doctor about it and he didn't think that it could be that far up but said to check with my ob/gyn. I don't have an endocrine doctor, should I get one and check with them or the gyn? Thanks again, Kristine

I think your best bet would be to set up a consultation with a reproductive endocrinologist (fertility specialist). He/she will know how to treat PCOS if you have it and to run appropriate tests. Of course, this is assuming you are ttc which I assume since you're here. Best of luck to you.
