J Lo's twins!

OMG they are so cute! I guess People magazine got the exclusive to an 8 hour photo shoot and it's all over the news this morning. I'm happy for her success!

BUT.... The editor of People was on GMA this morning and he really peeved me! He was saying that during the photo shoot J. Lo was "denying that these are IVF babies, that they are NATURAL, and miracles. Twins run in both sides of the family." Now this was all actually coming out of the editors mouth, but hearing the word "natural" as if IVF is UNnatural really bothered me. J Lo wasn't on the show, so maybe he just misquoted her.

Further, if they truly did happen spontaneously, wow, but I find it hard to believe. I think if J Lo did use IVF she should be proud of it and use her social status to make the process more talked about and ..... accepted! Instead of this concept of "natural" business propogating.

Anyway, that's my soapbox rant.
Congrats to the new twins, just beautiful!

I have thought the same things quite a few times....IVF is not something many people speak very openly about and if a celeb such as J-Lo did have IVF and was open enough to speak about it, awareness would be raised..it would be so wonderful if someone would be that brave...even if her twins were bed babies someone else in Hollywood sure as anything has done IVF....I'm with ya!!

Here here ladies.... I totally agree. I am a big rag mag reader ( shame on me) and I know she has been trying for a VERY long time to have a baby. With as much money as they have to play with you don't think they would have looked for other options?! Come on we are not stupid. People on this forum are working two jobs just to pay for meds and they wouldn't have resorted to anything?? Yeah RIGHT.
I agree with you ladies she should come out and say something and give this taboo subject some light.

Smile Redhead from DespHousewifes did!

Hey gals...personally I could care less what other people think about IVF-Especially Hollyworld or Hollyweirdos take your pick.

I have nothing to be ashamed of wanting to be a mother. Furthermore-there is nothing unnatural about 9 months of pregancy.

But if you're looking for a celeb who promoted IVF-it was the redheaded gal from Desperate Housewifes (cant remember her name) but she had twins with IVF and one of the major mags did a story on her. I read it on a plane trip. She was so grateful for the opportunity to do IVF and praised it.

J.Lo did come out and said she didn't go through IVF and that everything was natural with her twins. She said she knew nothing was wrong with her and knew that she could have kids... and when Marc Anthony replied by saying, "I knew you could have kids..." or something like that, she looked at him and said, "You mean after three years you never question why I couldn't get pregnant???!!?"
But she said twins runs in both their families.
You know I was hoping she did go through IVF to give me even more hope... but to her it sounds like IVF means she was a failure as a woman or it'll make her look abnormal so I guess she said her kids were not part of IVF.

O.k. I have something to add because this often strikes me as strange when stars get pregnant but share nothing of their journey, they proclaim, it was a miracle. I discount what some say but respect that it is their private life. We could all use someone to look up to like Brook Shields who has been so beautifully open about her pregnancies and stress following her deliveries. Unfortunately, not everyone finds it that easy to open up. I think sometimes it is because of everything they have been through on their journey to get pregnant. It is such a private thing to go through but I do wish it was something we could all be more open about, it would make it much easier.
It is kinda fun trying to figure out who went the route of IVF. I even wonder about Angelina. I guess that is why we have this site and like it so much. We can be honest and open with one another.

one of my blogfriends actually cycled with her (dr. rosenwaks). i find it hard to believe she'd visit a clinic every other day for pap smear after pap smear.

j.liar just has a huge head and is trying to make herself seem like she's much better than us average folk.

here are some quotes from when she sold out her kids in people:

"It was natural. We didn't do in vitro, which I know was reported. Everybody assumed that because we had twins. I wanted to have a baby, but I've always said exactly what I said all those years they (reporters) asked us since we've been married: 'Well, when are you guys gonna have some kids?' 'When it happens naturally, I guess!' And that's when it happened. It was a surprise to us."

oh sure, i use those exact same words ("when it happens naturally") to answer curious people. i get that many people choose to keep their ivf situation hidden, but just drop it and move onto more baby/mommy talk instead of straight up lying.

I knew there was nothing wrong with me. I knew that I could. Deep down, I really wanted it badly.

sorry, but failing to conceive within a year (6 months over 35) gets you that horrible, horrible "infertile" label.

hmm, i guess after 5 years of waiting, praying, draining my bank account, temping, poas, dildo-cam dates, hsg, laparoscopy, multiple failed iui's, and 2 failed ivf w/ icsi means i don't want to become pregnant that BADLY.

yeah, and i bet her farts smell like roses too. ugh, i can't stand this lying twat.

While it may not be anyone's business but JLo's and her dh's about how they conceived, I think it is absurd to make a point of saying she did not have IVF - cause she so obviously did. Nearly 40? twins? naturally? yeah right.

It's all Hollywood b.s. but still irksome.

I guess we women who are going through IVF don't want to have babies badly like J.Lo...

So what she mean is that, since we are going through IVF (which per J.Lo is not natural) the EGGS and SPERM, which are fertilized and transfer into our uterus, are man made in a lab?
That just irks me.

After reading the rest of the comments, I believe she did go through IVF or some sort of medical help to get pregnant. She probably did clomid if no IVF. But if she did go see her doctor every week, it's got to be IVF!

I'm not ashamed of IVF. If people ask why I haven't have kids yet, I tell them I've been trying and since I can't get pregnant, I'm going through IVF.

I guess it use to be taboo if you can't have kids...
