Pregnant - My story & need of support

I have moved this to the pregnant bit for better answers, sorry I am new here.

I thought I join these forums for support, b/c really I am at my wits end here. I am very, very lucky to all ready have 2 children without any pregnancy/fertility problems.

The story is that I had a missed-miscarriage this month last year, (baby died wk 9, diagnosed at wk 13). And ever since then I had spotting before my periods, and 5 months ago I finally went to the doctors about it. I was given a hormone blood test, and the result of it was unbalanced hormones. However my doctor didn't go into any detail about it and it's affect on future pregnancies, I was simply sent home none the wiser!

I have never recovered from this "spotting", and now I am 7 weeks pregnant! I had some bleeding at 4 weeks and at 6 weeks, however I had a 6 wk scan last week. And there was a heartbeat detected! But, I still feel that the future of my pregnancy is looking somewhat glum. Being realistic and true to myself, I NOW recently discovered that 'my spotting' was a symptom of low progesterone so my pregnancy may not succeed, and women with this problem is likely to miscarry within 10 weeks.

I have started using natural progesterone cream at week 5 (against my doctor's advice). I know this probably won't work and it too late as it is supposed to be used 48 hrs after ovulation. The question I would like to ask is; will this cream only delay the outcome of my maybe doomed pregnancy? And how long will it delay it by?

My doctor says there's hope cos nobody know whats going to happen to this pregnancy. P.S. My HCG levels won't be checked due to a policy thing.

Oh another question, I love to ask! If there are other women out there, experiencing a spotting before periods problem like me; when you do spot do you have a lot of clear vaginal discharged mixed with it?

I don't have any information on what you're experiencing, but I read your post today and I wanted to say that I am so sorry you are going through this hell. I can't believe there isn't more that your Dr. can do for you? Have you considered a second opinion? How are you doing?

Are you with an Ob/Gyn? I had 2 early m/c's and both times when I spotted, my progesterone was tested and it came back low. You should definitely demand to have your progesterone levels checked. It is a simple blood test and insurance should pay for it.

There is a point when you need to start the progesterone. I started taking it right after I found out I was pregnant this time. If you already saw the heartbeat, that is a really good sign.

I hope everything turns out well this time for you. Spotting is common, but it should be checked out and a simple blood test isn't too much to ask.
