Chances of Miscarriage

I am sorry of this sounds silly but I am finally pregnant after 2 years of TTC and today I banged into a door and my I was holding a laptop in my hand which pushed right into my upper abdomen below my ribcage. I wasn;t in much pain it was more of a shock. I am concerned that this may do something to the baby. I am only 4 weeks. Am I over reacting? I don't have any symptoms that anything is right now but it only happened this afternoon, so how long does it take for a probalem id there is one to be noticed?

Hi Karen - congrats on your pregnancy! I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry. I was shocked the first belly ultrasound I had where the tech was practically pounding on my belly to get the kiddo to move. And the transvag u/s isn't much better - poking and prodding around the uterus. Well, and then there's BDing of course.

All this to remind you that whoever designed uteruses (uteri? lol) was a darn good engineer because they are very well insulated and protected from outside bumps!

I'm sure your little one is just fine - nestled in for the next 9 months!

I've read that as far as things like this go (falling, too) you would have to do some kind of significant damage to yourself before your baby would be harmed. The human uterus is Nature's greatest shock absorption system. I'm sure there's nothing wrong.
