miscarriage - bleed

i was hoping that you could help me - i had my second miscarriage in july - both were different. the first one there was a heartbeat but i started bleeding at 6 weeks and i later lost him. then for the second one - the sac was small, started bleeing at 6 weeks and then found out it was a blighted ovum. so my question is do you know of anything that would cause a bleed at 6 weeks. i have tried researching clotting disorders but that doesn't seem to fit. i start testing next week for chromosomes and clotting disorders but i want to make sure that everything is covered. if there is anything that you can offer that will help, i would really appreciate it.

thanks

I'm so sorry you've had to experience this hun, I didn't realize you had been going through the same thing. I can completely relate to how helpless you must be feeling, its the worst feeling in the world and even at 32 weeks pregnant not a day goes by I don't think something might go wrong.

As for the bleeding, I'm not too sure what could cause that but it sounds like they are ordering the right tests. I do know I was tested also for something called Von Willebrands which is a bleeding disorder that causes the blood to clot too slowly. They tested me after the miscarriages and also because I had terrible AF where I bled really heavily. I didn't end up having this condition, my m/c's were just bad luck chromosomally (it turns out this is quite a common problem) but it can't hurt to ask to be tested for everything just in case. Will you be doing PGD for your next IVF cycle?
Keep us posted okay, I'll be thinking about you.

Hi Jaime,

Sorry, but I don't have an answer to your question. I hope your research goes well and soon you find answers and a treatment to prevent another m/c.

I have been thinking a lot about you lately. How did you decide to TTC after m/c? Were you afraid? I admire you a lot. Right now I think I cannot go again through the whole emotional roller-coaster of IVF. Plus, now after my experience of m/c.

Do you have any literature about m/c that you would like to share with me?

RE says that the cause of my m/c is genetic. I am waiting for the results in the next week.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Looks like I am in the same boat, the 2nd US showed no fetal growth and no heartbeat.

Doc wants to keep testing my blood levels, her preference is for things to resolve naturally. Most of my other failed pgs resolved pretty quickly.

I am pretty nervous, since I don't think any of them were this far along (7 wks)

historyteach, chuchu, and onemiracle I am sorry for your loss. I also suffered a miscarriage at 7 1/2 weeks and I'm trying to heal. I have good days and bad days. I find strength in the possibilty of conceiving with a FET but the wait to start the cycle is very hard.

historyteach - i'm not sure of other tests but I got tested for immune/clotting issues (lupus anticoagulant, anitcardiolipin antibodies) I tested positive so that might be the cause of my early miscarriage.
