Hey Girls,

Have any of you had migraines due to drop in hormones? Tylenol, EX Migraine, Motrin are not helping. I've been taking the Darvocet from my lap they are so bad.

Hope you all had a great Friday. Enjoy the weekend!!

Yes, I have had horrible migraines. I thought it was sinus or indigestion or a cold..... I am trying to eat small portions and taking some Advil.

I am taking progesterone as RE said so my period comes back.

claudia - that doesn't make sense that you are still on prog. because that is what makes AF stay away, are you on a low dose?

jana - yes i have had soem horrible migranes and since i started BCPs this time, my intenstines are trying to kill me, i spend more and more time in the bathroom, i am not sure what that is all about.

Hi ladies! I haven't posted in a while because I have started back to school (I am a teacher.) It is crazy going from nothing to do all summer (aside from the endless doctor's appts) to having too much to do. I am so relieved, however, to be going back. I now have something to think about besides the what ifs. On our first inservice, it was really hard, because alot of people knew I was doing IVF this summer but did not know the outcome. All day I had people coming up to me going "well..." with a dumb smile on their face. I just shook my head and said not this time. I think next time I will wear a tshirt that says "It didn't work!" Also there were about 10 newly pregnant people there. One girl is on her third pregnancy and she started trying after I did. I try not to let it bother me too much but some days are harder than others. Sorry to rant...I just needed to vent a little.

On another note, my beta is now down to 79 from 126 a week ago. I so wished that it would be 0 so that I can just move on from this chapter. How long do you think that it will be before I hit 0? I NEVER thought that I would be praying for a beta of 0!

As far as the migraines, I have been having them also, but I thought it was due to the methotrexate shot that I had. Since I had that shot all that I am allowed to take is tylenol, and that does NOTHING for me. We are also not allowed to have sex and I am not allowed to drink. Also, I have to stay away from foods that have folic acid.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello

Hey Girls,

I had the migranes too and the RE said it is hormone related. Jamie, my intestines acted up too! She said that all the hormones make the intestines lazy which inturn causes the belly distention. We are lucky girls.

I too went back to school last Monday, and boy was I happy there were no pregnancy announcments. That may have thrown me over the edge...I was so looking forward to announcing. I work with a mean woman who is forever wondering when I am going to have a baby. She talks about it behind my back. She was the only reason I was upset about heading back to work. People can be so cruel. You would think that a married, mother of two with a full time job would have enough of her own crap to worry about.

Okay, I feel better. I have to say that I am so happy to have a distraction from IF. Is it strange that I miss going to the RE's office. I told my nurse this and she told me to come and visit! Too funny!

Quick question...I have been reading around and there are people who are swearing off alcohol all together. Is it okay to have a few drinks here and there. I know caffeine is bad, but I need the hooch right now!

Enjoy your weekend!

Erin

Hey Ladies,
I swore AF was here, but I was actually ovulating instead, used a kit. Crazy!! I guess my body is getting back in order, and I can expect AF in a couple of weeks. So that will make AF about 4+weeks after D and C. The ovulation pains were intense! We gave it a go just for the hell of it! Looks like my IVF options are do in it in 2 cycles (november) or wait until Jan (the office takes a 3 week IVF break in Dec). I am leaning toward waiting, then we could try naturally for a couple of months.

Jana-I haven't had an migranes luckily.

Erin-About alcohol (for me). I felt so good when I was pregnant with no substances! But when I m/c I drank quite a bit for a couple of weeks and felt horrible. So with those two extremes I am cutting back to a couple drinks a week only. Now I am losing some weight and feel better. Staying away from coffee like you. BUt I don't think it matters if you drink if you are not pregnant, but that is my opinion.

Erin, since the m/c I've had a couple of glasses of wine and some coffee. I don't go overboard though. It might be bad to say, but that glass of wine really helps me relax.

Lisa, so sorry that going back to school was so hard.

Jamie, sorry about the messed up bowels. I was looking for places around us to go kayaking, but couldn't find any rentals around us. You've given me the urge to go since you went. I miss it so much!!

Claudia, how's the weekend going?

Jenn, here's hoping the bding worked for you and DH. I wish we had that possibility.

Kelly, here's an AF dance for you

Hope I didn't miss anyone!! Have a wonderful Saturday!!
The headaches are beginning to lesson. Yea!!! I'm glad that school is givng you ladies a distraction. I really wish that I was teaching again this year, but I was pregnant when they were doing all the hiring here, and I felt obligated to disclose that info. so I didn't apply. Now, I think it would be hard, as a new employe, to find any job that would let me off for all this IVF. Guess I'll just be a bum again this year.

Hello!!!

Yesterday was a pretty busy day at work. Came back to home and then went to see Mamma Mia!! I loved it!! It cheered me up! I saw the musical some years ago and I will go again (I think the show is even better).

The migraines..... Yesterday I had none!! For some days I thought it was stress related.

Jaime, I am following REs instructions. I have been feeling twinges like AF will be here pretty soon.

Jenn and Jana, wine relaxes!! Isn't it great? I drank some of it after my m/c but felt pretty bad after it (as if I have had 2 bottles). Last week DH made an apple martini and was awesome! I think that having one-two drinks a week won't do any harm.

Lisa, I hope AF comes back soon!

I am amazed as how many teacher we have in the forum!

As for pregnant women, I see tons of them each day at work. Yesterday I saw a 3 week-old baby girl. She was adorable. I have learned that for the moment I cannot ask any questions. The other day a women replied: Do you have kids? I had to control myself to not start crying in front of her. So, I learned.... for the moment not exposing myself to such situations.

Today DH and I have the day off. We don't have any plans yet. For sure, the Olympics. Maybe a concert in a park or dinner with friends at night.

I send you a big hug!

Hi Ladies, just wanted to say a quick hello. I didn't have time to catch up on everyone's posts. I hope you are having a good weekend.

There's a lot of teachers on here!! Sorry about the migraines. I don't really have any.

My beta on Thrusday was still at 15. I don't think its ever going to be zero!!!

I have to go to a family BBQ for DH's side. I really haven't seen them since the m/c. So this should be interesting. As for the drinking, the number of beers I have will probably be proportional to the number of questions we get! LOL!!!

Missy, have fun at the bbq. We were supposed to drive home next weekend, but I don't know that I'm up for all the questions and the I'm so sorry's.

Can I ask why you guys are all going in for betas? Does it not matter for me since I can never get prego on my own?

A few weeks after my d & c I started getting headaches for several days at a time, I never related it to the hormones dropping & reading the posts here I know that it is. I have had one beta test done since the d & c to make sure the count is zero & I know it is since I've had AF twice now.

As for alcohol, well it's summer & after a hard day at work I usually crack open a beer or two! (but I only really do this maybe twice a week). Also, since I found out I was pregnant I've been drinking decaff coffee (I only drink 1 cup a day) & I've been continuing to drink decaff. I figure if I have to drink coffee it may as well be the better stuff for me! I have my RE appt in Oct (the earliest they could get me in) to get the ball rolling again. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I can't believe it's going to be September in a week!

I don't think AF will show up until my beta is finally zero.

BBQ was a little rough since SIL's baby is the main focus, as usual. She's the first grandbaby, so everyone is all over her.

A question about the migraines. I can't take BCP without getting terrible migraines. Maybe that's what's causing the migraines for some of you?

Erin, that lady sounds like a jerk. I am sorry you have to deal with such a crappy coworker. Have you ever confronted her?

Missy, mine are definitely hormones and stress, because I just started the BCPs a day ago. They are finally starting to subside.
