Onemiracle,

I had a D&C and I would recommend one to anyone who is in need of closure. You feel a bit crappy for a day or so, but then your body rebounds and you start to mend. The bleeding is minimal and they say to expect AF in 3-5 weeks.

I wish you the best...you are in my prayers!

i have never gone natural with a miscarriage, i have had two D&Es - there is some research showing that it can cause scarring, but the chances are very, very slim. i wish you the best with your decision

Just heard from my RE's office. My hcg is down to 19,000. They want to wait another week.

The nurse said my RE "really really" wants to avoid the other options. As long as it is not going to hurt me, I am pretty okay waiting.

Thanks for the good thoughts, I am just ready to get back to baby-making.

We decided to tell my dad when everything is complete. Until then, I am letting some of his calls go to voicemail. (I feel like a really bad daughter when I do that... but he probably picks up my anxiety over the phone. It is the worst part of this mc thing.)

Amy and Colee, Welcome!! As it has been said, I wisht this could be in a different situation. But, here we are to support each other.

Amy, I miss sooo much Ann Arbor. The tailgating season was one of my favorites too. We are supposed to go back the first week of October for a class reunion but haven't made the final decision yet.

Onemiracle, I am glad you got everything figured out.

Jaime, you are such a trooper! September is around the corner. Are you going to have a FET anyways? What does it depend of?

The weekend was Ok. On Friday we watched the AMAZING Olympics Opening Ceremony. We worked on Saturday. Sunday we had off so we wathche the Games. Later, we had dinner with some friends: korean bbq... which I love.

I called today my RE and asked about the genetic testing results. They said they got them and RE had reviewed them. They were supposed to call me back but I guess I missed the phone call while I was at work. I will try again tomorrow.

I just recently had a miscarriage. I was on vacation and I was able to relax and take a little break from reality. I did not have a D&C because I wanted to have it naturally if I could. I was only 8 weeks but the baby stopped at 5 weeks 6 days. I got pregnant after the first IVF (one failed IUI). I am still grieving but looking forward to the next cycle. I had a question for the group. My doc said that they didn't need to do any other testing right now except perhaps the karyotype test for my and my DH because one miscarraige is very, very common and after only one, there's no need for concern at this point. She also said that many of the tests done for miscarriages (invasive and non-invasive) on fertile women have alreday been done on me because of my fertility issues (HSG, Progesterone testing, thyriod...etc). I am wondering what others have experienced after only one miscarriage and what their docs have done or said? Thanks and so sorry for everyone. I know we will have success one day!

So I went to see my ob-gyn on Friday (I see my RE later on) & firstly he was 45 mins late which pissed me off to say the least (the Dr.'s normally run on time or a few mins late). He went over some info with me & was almost out the door when I had to ask him what the results of my d & c was. All he said was that it was normal & all that was found was tissue & that was that. I was alittle surprised as he normally takes his time, doesn't rush & I just felt rushed . I'm hoping when I see the RE that they might have more info. as I did tell them that one of the reasons I wanted the d & c was to get the genetic testing done. Does "no news mean good news" in this case? I guess I was looking for more answers/closure & I just didn't feel like I got it.

It can be so distressing to have to deal with doctors that don't have the time to answer your questions especially with subjects like pregnancy loss. I am sorry you have to go through this. I would call back and ask to speak to the doc and have him tell you the results and explian until you feel comfortable. I do think that is something was wrong they would have addressed it with you. God luck!

Hi Ladies, Can I join this group? I found out yesterday that my baby had no hb and stopped growing at 7wks3dys. I had a D&C today. My DH and I are very, very sad. We were so sure it was going to happen for us. This board offers such nice support. I know I am not the only one going through such a terrible ordeal. We will probably try IVF again asap. Thanks for listening! for everyone!

Hi ladies - I haven't been on the bb for a while.

For those that have recently joined us I'm so sorry to you found your way here. I truly wish we have all "met" under different circumstances.

My update, well there is no update. It's been just over 2w since my last u/s that confirmed no fetal pole I still have not had a m/c. Today I have been having mucusy, brownish discharge and some mild off and on cramping. I don't know why I feel like I need to do this naturally but I do. Naturally, that just doesn't sound like the right word to use when referring to m/c.

Hugs to all of you!!

Marilyn

Hi ladies. I know some of you from the March thread, and thought I could find comfort from those of you who know the pain. I found out today that our baby stopped growing. The nurse couldn't find the heartbeat. I am supposed to be 11 weeks tomorrow. I go back to see the RE tomorrow for her to confirm the loss. We are scheduled for a D&C on Thursday.

You all are in my prayers.

Hi everyone I just wanted to add my story..DH and I have been trying for 3 years for a baby..(I have 2 children from a previos relationship they are 8 and 6).. We fnally got pregnant and I was so sick I lost 25lbs and was put on Zofran...during our 17 week check up they discovered that "baby Hayden" had no H/B. I had my D&E 3 days later and they told me she/he was 16 weeks along...I am still waiting on the results from the placental autopsy, and patholgy labs..I am so anxious and scared to try again.. I really think its great that we all have a place to express our grief.. thanks

Klbabynow, Pam, Jana, Highhopes, and Heather,

WELCOME!!! This thread has helped me a lot. I hope you find companionship and support after your losses.

I had my D&C more than two weeks ago. Today I got back the genetic testing results: a normal girl. The secretary said that those are good and bad news. They don't know what went wrong. DH and I will meet on Thursday with RE.

I need your opinions. What should I ask RE? More tests?

I am so scared. I thought DH's morphology was the cause of our infertility.... the idea of my body not helping with implantation is tooo much.

Do you all know what went wrong?

i am so sorry that you had to go thru this, i don't think doctors think sometimes, i would love to slap them up across the head. as for there was only tissue, means there was no embryo, i think. therefore they didn't actually test the embryo but the tissue. when they say it was normal, meaning there was no genetic reason for the miscarriage. meaning that your chances of having another miscarriage are very slim. i hope that you get more answers and you feel a little better after talking with your RE, good luck sweets
