Jana, I am thinking of you!!! I hope everything goes smoothly. Don't forget to take pain killers before you start feeling any discomfort.

Your opinions are very important:

What do you think about DNA Fragmentation Test for DH?

I am leaving to my RE's appointment.

Good luck today Jana. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Just wondering how many of you are going to try IVF or any other fertility treatment again? My DH and I are going to try IVF again, but we are considering using donor eggs this time due to my age. (I'll be 40 in two months!) Has anyone tried donor eggs??

Hi Pam. I want to do IVF again. DH does not. He thinks it is a waste of money. I feel like it worked (even though the baby didn't make it) and I can taste the carrot in front of me. We are going to do it one more time, but not a 3rd time. If it doesn't work then we move on to adoption.

I'll be 40 in February. But we are going to stick with my old eggs still for this try.

A couple girls on this thread are debating whether to go again or not too. I think Jaimie (historyteach) is going for number 3!!

I am not looking forward to the shots, u/s, b/w, and procedures again at all. I am still waiting on my beta to hit zero and for AF too. So maybe I am going in October or November. I am going to skip a cycle and then do it.

When do you think you will try again? Do you know someone for donor eggs? Or will you get through your RE?

We already decided to try again. I am 42, so there is limited time for mulling things over...

Like a lot of you, I am waiting for my body to get everything sorted out. (Beta, AF etc.)

This will be IVF #4 for us.

Based on what other forum members have said, we'll probably be trying in the October/November timeframe.

PamHF - I tried 4 IUI's and 2 IVF's with my own eggs before moving on to donor eggs. My RE said my eggs were acting like they were in their 40's. My donor egg cycle worked but I miscarried. I may have other issues. Try checking out the donor egg board. There has been a lot of success there.

Jana - hope you are taking it easy today and healing.

Claudia - I hope your appt. with your RE can give u some answers.

Hello

Hello Everyone,

Well, I met with my RE yesterday and asked a bunch of questions regarding bloodclots and pregnancy and she did not seem worried that this would happen again. I wish I could share her sentiments, but I'll never be ever to truly relax.

We discussed in depth protocol for my next cycle and she is doing the antagonist approach this time whereas last time I had the Lupron suppression. Apparantly they can get more eggs this way so I will have some to freeze.

My HCH went from 64 last week to 8.4 this week so I am heading in the right direction. They do want my to have this first period and one other prior to starting again. I was VERY disappointed, but I guess they are right. We need some time to recoup and get our lining back up to snuff.

Hope everyone is doing well. I truly appreciate the support you all provide!

Thanks,

Erin

Erin, those are good news!! I think waiting a couple of cycles will help your mind and body to heal completely and get ready for a successful pregancy.

Pam, Missy, Sanda and OneMiracle, I am with you on "the age factor". I feel the tic-tac every day.

Yes, we will be doing another IVF when: my mind and body are back a 100%; and, when we have the money. Having said that I am thinking that January is possible. Plus, we have a renovation of visa that needs to be resolved (this issue is giving me lots of stress).

My update from RE's appointment:

1) RE believes that my m/c was genetic. She said she is good removing tissue and she couldn't see any at D&C. She believes that the results correspond to my tissue and we had "bad luck".

2) She was very open with my other RE and we will be testing for auto-inmune diseases. This will be done after my next period comes.

3) DNA Fragmentation Test: RE is not very keen about it. She said if it really was a good thing, everybody in US and abroad should be replicating it. Also, she asked us that if we did it and the results came back as poor, would we use donor sperm. We answered negative. So, if it is not going to change the course of treatment, then there is not a reason to take ti. So, I suppose we are not going to do it.

4) My endometrium has healed perfectly (she did an u/s) and I will start today Provera and continue with Estrace. Period should be here in two weeks.

5) She believes that since my first IVF was sucessful, we should try a second time.

DH and I left feeling some relief (I don't why). So, again it is a matter of patience and waiting another month.

Hello

Claudia,

Boy, your RE sounds like mine. I guess they feel if you are successful once, the chances are good you will be successful twice. Are you planning on freezing any? That is the one change we are making as FET is a whole lot cheaper/easier than a fresh cycle.

Glad to hear you and Dh were relieved...we felt the same way. Maybe it is that we are regaining some control over our lives and bodies!

Take care,

Erin

Erin - I'm glad your meeting with the RE went well. Also, thats great that your beta levels are coming down.

Claudia - That's great that your RE has a plan for your next cycle.

Erin & Claudia - i am so glad that your appointment went so well, you have given me some things that i want to bring up with my Re.

i have called my old RE, that i did medicated IUIs to determine if there is anything else that we can do to figure out why i start bleeding at 6 weeks.

i don't know about the rest of you but the idea that i am starting another cycle makes me have something else to think about and not obsess about the ones that i lost.

jana - i hoep that things went well today and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

i hope that each of you are finding peace and love in your lives!!

Thanks everyone for responding! I would like to try IVF again ASAP. I just had my D&C on Tuesday, so I plan on contacting my RE on Monday to set up a new plan of action. If we decide to go with a donor we will get someone through my RE. My DH and I still go back and forth on that issue. I know how you feel when you say you can taste the carrot in front of you! This was our first attempt at IVF and I was able to get pregnant. I guess I will just wait until Monday and hear what my RE has to say. Hope everyone is doing well!

Question

Hello,

This is my first time going through any of this and I have heard that the AF after a D&C can be ROUGH. I started spotting this morning but not AF like yet, but with my Beta I know she is on the way and I am nervous. Any thoughts? Can I wear tampons?

Thanks for your thoughts!
