stopping PIO? Tomorrow will be 1 week since my last PIO shot and I don't feel like anything is going to happen. Could it be because my hcg was high (over 46,000)? I've never experienced a m/c before so I have no idea what to expect. My RE wants me to call them on Monday if I haven't started to bleed. My boobs are still very tender and it's just torture because it's a symptom that I was pregnant.

Marilyn I am sorry for your loss. I miscarried 4 days after I stopped my PIO, but i think every person can be different. My RE did say if it didn't happen on its own, I might need a D and C.

I was told on 7/25 that there was no cardiac activity and to stop my prometrium and metformin and things should start happening, and ya know, nothing did. My HCG levels were never checked so I don't know what they look like. I had spotted on 7/25 then it stopped, then come tues or so this past week started spotting brown then it stopped, getting frustrated I'd call the midwives to get answers and all I kept getting was vague responses, So after calling an d calling and finally talk to a midwife I have never talked to before and explained to her what was going on and we finally got a plan. Then from about thurs night to now, I've been doing nothing but spotting off and on brown to burgendy/pinkish red in color, last night I was just soooooo freakin' tired and spotting browish red with mucous in it, I called the midwives again because I am concerned of infection. finally after 4 hrs of waiting and trying to go to sleep she calls me. Of course her answers were very vague again, so whatever. I go in tomorrow for a comfirmatory u/s then pre-op on tues then surgery (d&c) thurs.
I have been told and I have read that women often times have missed miscarraiges and will need to have a D&C anyway's and since I was on medications to support the pregnancy I feel that I am having a missed m/c and that could very well be what you are expierencing, but if I were you I would get a confirmatory ultrasound before going forth with the D&C.

Dear Colee and Marilyn, I am very sorry that you are going thru this!! Losing a baby is hard enough. I hope all this experience is over pretty soon for you.

We opted for a D&C so we could have the genetic tests done. It has been ten days already and I just started feeling better yesterday.
