Lost a twin at 30 weeks

Hi my name is Dawn and I need some encouragement and help. Last week at our 30 week US we found out that we lost one of our twins. It was our little boy Dylan. So far they have not found out why and they are expecting it to be a cord problem. Everyone is in complete shock since we had made it so far without any major issues.
Our little girl is doing very well and I am ok too...well physically.
I am really scared about the birth and how I am going to feel. My emotions are all over the place.
I keep praying for her to stay healthy and strong.
I'm tired of crying.

Dawn, I am sorry sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my triplets at 19 weeks and it is the most difficult thing that I have ever gone through (and am still going through). It has been 4weeks since I lost them and I do still cry, but not as much. It does get a little easier as time passes, but the pain does not go away. When it first happened I didn't think I would ever be able to function again, or even get out of bed. But here I am, back at work. I can't beleive it has been a month already. I am praying for the strenth to get through this and start trying for our family again.

It's wonderful that you little girl is still doing well. Please hang in there and be strong. I wish the best of luck w/ the rest of your pregnancy. Please feel free to pm me if you need to talk or vent.

Oh Dawn, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's very unfortunate that you lost your precious Dylan but for now you need to stay strong for Dalyla. I'm sure your emotions will be two fold when the twins are born as you mourn your son but rejoice over the gift of your daughter. Hopefully your doctor(s) will be watching you more closely from now until delivery.

Dawn, I'm so, so very sorry to hear about Dylan. I cannot pretend to know what you are going through but my heart goes out to you. I'll share a story that may help you to know you are not alone...

My bestfriend lost her first son (my godson) at 38 weeks, also from a cord issue. It rocked us all to the core. She delivered him and we were able to spend time with him. Even though it was one of the most difficult things to experience, I cherish those moments holding him. It was a way to let go and find closure. No doubt the delivery will be bittersweet as you rejoice over Dalyla and grieve Dylan.

My friend found a lot of comfort in a support group of women experiencing similar situations. They helped her get through the darker periods.

I wish you peace and strength in the coming weeks.
