2 miscarriages in 9 months!!

So today was my u/s appt. According to the dates I should have been almost 7 weeks. My dh & I were hopeful that this pregnancy was going to be successful as I had 3 good mature follicles on my IUI cycle and was told that if I was successful there was a high chance of multiples. Well, the u/s did not go well & the same thing happened again, there was no h/b or fetal pole. I was so upset and this time when I made it out of the office I just burst into tears. I am so upset. My dh & I are to have chromosomal testing now to see if there is a reason why I keep m/c'ing. One of the hardest things for me was having to go back to work after hearing the news. I don't know how I managed to keep it together and not burst into tears every 5mins. My dh is being so supportive right now. I know he's upset too. All I can do is hope & pray that I can one day have a successful pregnancy (as I can hear that clock ticking loudly!!). Thank for letting me vent.

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this, it has to be one of the hardest things to deal with...take time to grieve your loss with your dh (so nice to hear that he is being very supportive, that will really help).

Hang in there...and we are here for you if you need us. If anyone really understands how you feel, it is the people on this board.

There is hope.

I also suffered 3 miscarriages back to back within about a years time.

Each time the baby would be measuring a week behind. By 7 weeks the baby would measure 6 weeks and we'd have a heartbeat but just days later it would pass away.

With my first miscarriage it happened natually so we never knew why it happened but the dr. suspected just a random chromosomal abnormality.

With the second we did a D&C and had the baby tested and found out it was a baby girl (possibly identical twins) with Trisomy 16 a very common, random, fatal ,chromosomal abnormality that was incompatible with life.

With the third miscarriage (vanishing twin). It followed exactly with what happened with the first two miscarriages...except this time our other twin was healthy and strong right from the begining and stayed that way. The twin that passed away slowely shrank and was re-obsorbed back into my body and had no negative effect on the remaining healthy twin.

So now I have a healthy, happy , absolutely adorable son and it was all worht it. After 9 1/2 years of infertility and trying and after suffering miscarriages one right after the other we finally have our own precious miracle in our arms.

If it can happen for me, it can happen for you.

I'm so sorry you've had to experience those losses, but don't give up hope. Keep trying!!!

Vent as much as you want! You must be strong in order to go back to work after the news. Please allow time to heal yourself. I hope you get answers from your tests.

Thank you all for the support

Thank you everyone for your support and just listening to me! Tomorrow I am actually going in for my D & C (& to get testing done on the fetus too)

wannabigbabybelly - thank you for your kind words. At times I feel like giving up but I know how much having a family means to me & I know I'll keep trying until either I can't afford it or am too old! I am grateful for this forum though as I know I'm not alone and in a way it's consoling sharing with others, like yourself. Our husbands are great but they don't know really what it feels like especially the physical aspect of things (as I sit here typing while I have a lot of cramping!) My husband summed up the infertility process to a tee, "it's a roller coaster. Sometimes you are up (find out the bfp) & then you are down (no h/b => m/c)".
