Is your RE recommending any testing on you? Will he test the tissue?

This is so upsetting...it's my 3rd ivf, first with donor eggs.

My RE isn't recommending any testing yet, since this was my first m/c. He was optimistic that eventually we would succeed. Right now that feels so far away to me. He will test the tissue, but said it would likely be inconclusive since the only tissue there is placental. I'm hoping for some answers none the less. I had 3 failed IUIs in the past, and didn't feel at all as down as I do right now. I have an appointment with an acupuncturist on Thursday. Hoping that will help for next time. At least it feels like I'm doing something. This is so hard...

Genvieve-Good luck tomorrow, I will be thinking about you.

This is so incredibly heartbreaking...I was so excited when my beta came back positive, then a little worried when they were on the slow side to rise, and then of course crushed at the first US to find a BO.

Can I ask what a D & E is? My RE mentioned a D & C if I don't m/c naturally within 2 weeks, but I am hoping I do!

How many weeks/days did you sac measure and at what point was your US that found it to be a BO? Mine was early, the sac only measured 4w3d, then 4w6d and they found it when I was suppose to be 6w1d and 7w1d....so it never grew too much past the first beta.

Thanks LGB. I had my D&E today and it went well. I'm having some cramping now, but much milder than menstrual cramps. A D&E or dilation and evacuation is similar to a D&C. My understanding is that there is less scraping of the uterine wall, and suction is used to "evacuate" the contents. I felt the same as you, as far as worrying about my slowish betas. I guess I had good reason to be worried.... My sac measured about 6 weeks at 7 1/2 weeks. I'm glad I went ahead and had the procedure done. It kind of gives me some closure, and now I can look forward to trying again as soon as my body is willing. It is a very personal choice though. Best of luck to you and for both of us.

Genvieve-My m/c started last night, hasn't been bad at all, I think I am thru the clot/tissue passing and heavy bleeding part, and now it's like a period. I was suprised how painless it was. But my sac was really small.

I want to do my FET right away with my next period, which I hope comes mid June.

Good luck with your next cycle!!! Will your RE change anything up for that one? Did he test your tissue from the D & E?

I just finished reading all the posts on this thread. I am so lucky to feel comforted by such VERY STRONG WOMEN! I've been consumed by thoughts of being pregnant and how to pay for treatments, and well, basically feeling sorry for myself and DH.

I decided to check on here to see if I could get some relief from this agony, and I ran across this post. I sat here and started to tear up reading about all of your heartache and courage. I feel truly blessed to "hear" your stories, and I have gained comfort from it.

I know I can't make any of our pain go away, but please know that for a few moments, I felt such comfort knowing that I was not alone.

You are all in my positive thoughts, and are an inspiration and model of courageous women.

Thank you for making me think about someone else for a change. It helped.

Thank you, you are so sweet. This is a hearbreaking and long road for most all of us, no matter how your path goes. I am praying that you can do your IVF very soon and thank you for checking on us!

(Just an idea, consider doing the Shared Risk plan, you get a 70% refund back if you're unsuccessful and you get multiple attempts as well!)

I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel. I went through the same thing, no heartbeat around 11 weeks - it was the hardest thing I've ever been through, and you're right I can hopefully move on and try again soon. Hang in there, you are not alone.
