Unhappy Impending miscarriage. Waiting for it to start.

I took a pregnancy test on Friday, April 17, 3 days before my period. I took it on a whim, not thinking I would actually be pregnant.

It came out positive and my boyfriend and I were elated.

On Monday I went to the doctor's office, took a urine test, and the doctor told us that I was having a biochemical pregnancy, and that a miscarriage would happen within the next few days.

The doctor tested my hcg levels, just to verify that I was, in fact, miscarrying. The test came back at 23.

She tested me again on Wednesday and yes, my hcg levels were not doubling, but they came back higher at 33. The doctor again told me that I will miscarry and it should start within the next day.

I didn't start spotting by Friday, so I went in to have my hcg tested again and it is still rising, but it was only at 48.

My doctor told me that it should be 200 by now and that I would start my miscarriage within the next day or so.

So, now it's Monday and I haven't started spotting.

My boyfriend and I have been crying off and on for the last week. We weren't planning on the pregnancy, but once we found out that it existed, we want it.

But now, we are waiting for my miscarriage that the doctor said I would most surely have.

I haven't yet.

How long does it last? When will it start? When will my body stop believing its pregnant? I'm tired all the time, I cry all the time, and my boobs hurt ALL THE TIME.

I'm really sorry for what you are going through.

Please stay on top of your doctor if things to not occur naturally especially if you start to experience any pain, it is possible to have an ectopic pregnancy that would show increasing beta numbers but not doubling numbers.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through... planned or not, it's amazing how quickly you get attached to the little peanut.

When I lost my first baby, my OB told me that it can take up to 4 weeks, and in some cases your body never miscarries naturally. They thought I'd lost my baby at least a week before I found out, then I waited 1.5 weeks to miscarry - so 2.5 weeks in total, then got a D&C because I couldn't wait any longer - emotionally.

If it gets too much for you go and speak to your DR about options - there is a tablet you can take to induce miscarriage, or get a D&C - I know how cruel it is having your body believe it's pregnant when you've been told that it's not going to last.

One other thing you might want to consider is if the intervene with medication or a D&C, demand to get a scan first, just so there is no doubt about what's going on.

I hope you get some answers soon and find some peace.

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Take all the time you need to cry, I wish there was something to say to make you feel better, but I know there isn't.

If you need to talk, feel free to PM. I really hope this is over quickly for you.
