martie, what great timing!! good luck with your meds - you're almost there!

i go to the ob on tuesday and she usually does a quick u/s instead of the doppler since there's two in there. i think it's easier for her. lol wouldn't it be nice if she spent a few more minutes and zoomed in on the private areas to see what we're having? probably too much to ask for...

I haven' bailed. Things got busier with working and with the youngins. I don't know where all the free time went.

It seems people are cheering everyone on at our other space more now

My two little ones have colds. It's only a matter of days before I get it now.

Liza- The Twins 101 book is good. We read that one. I would also suggest "The multiples Manual by Lynn Lorenz" and Double Duty by Christina Tinglof. I highly recommend having some meals stock piled. Seriously. It was the best thing we ever did. Also another thing I quickly learned was not to rely on anyone because they all said they'd do something and so far, no one has done much more then fold three loads of laundry for me. LOL> (Although it will be good for you with MIL living upstairs) But yeah, just be forwarned that although people make promises, I've found very few have followed through. It's the ugly truth and I pray to God it's different for you though!!!!

Heidi- That so stinks that S and I are sick!! It's never fun!! How are the little man and big sis doing? Is S loving the big sister role?

Martie- Woohoo for starting!!

Hey Amy!! Nice to see you!!

Sandy- Are you going to buy those boots I [posted on fb? Hee hee. Do you have a SBS stroller? What kind do you have? My valco is in need of repair and I'm afraid they're going to take it away from me because there is no one to work on it out west. I need that stroller! I can't live without it!! I'm freaking out here. LOL

AFM, good lord. DH and I are very sick. We are hoping and praying that the boys don't get it. (My grandmother asked me if it was the swine flu! LOL) Just a really nasty cough, head cold, I dunno what the hell it is! LOL. It seems like we're past the infectious stage and the boys don't have it...so fingers tightly crossed!

Shawna I want to, but I have to budget for them. I did find a few places around me that sell them, so I'll have to go take a look. Have you bought the liners yet?

Yes I have a SBS, it's the combi sport (cheap and nasty) I only use it for walks outside. We also have a graco tandem. Sorry to hear your Valco is in need of repair. I wanted one so badly but couldn't justify the cost to dh. Who nows though, there may be a TriMode in my future

Sandy- I ordered the linerz and am just waiting for them to call me and tell me they're in. Yeah my trimode is all wonky and Valco is freaking out because this is the first time they've had this problem! lol. So they want to get it fixed but I just can't afford to send it away. It is the only double I have. I had the snap n go tandem but the boys are too big for it now. We justified the valco because it can work for so long for them. LOL Plus my SIL had one and we loved hers! hee hee. I think I am goign to have to check out another SBS and see if I can't find something if I do need to send this off. I think I should have a back up stroller even if it's a cheaper one...I have two singles but yeah, a lot of good that does me alone! I have to take the boys to the peds next week by myself. I am already freaking out about where I am going to park that stroller in the office but I can't imagine if I didn't have it what in the hell I'd do! LOL

Check out the combi then. It was cheap, but it does it's thing. I fits through most doors, though we never take it anywhere. I fits though my front door. I hear you about the doctors office. You need a stroller for that especially if you go it alone. Last time we went in, we carried them, and before that we'd use their infant carriers. Now we will have to take a stroller in, there is no way I'm carrying them in again, because they will want to get on the floor and touch the books and toys. DH would have a freak attack if they did that.

Liza- I am envious!! I thought my parents would be interested (and they told me they were) and there to help us since they are forever taking my brother's kids...and nope, not at all. today we actually discussed moving back to where we moved to here from...that is, if things don't work out here but they will! DH starts school tomorrow....I'm on my own five out of seven days a week from here on out until he's done with school then he is on a wonky schedule...

good luck on your own!! i know you can do it! not sure how some women raise twins from birth by themselves, but they do. phew!! i'll be on my own after dh goes back to work after his leave (probably only a week), but he works from 6:30 to 3, so that's good.

Yeah the last month I've been doing it alone already...I already know it's not easy and its a lot of work. I don't look forward to my trip to the ped next week. I am so freaking out. It is a lot of work. A lot of people think having two kids is the same as having twins but it's not. It is much different. At least with two kids a person has one kid who can usually crawl or walk...where as I (and you Liza, and Sandy can attest to this too!) have to cart two kids everywhere. So it means making like five trips up and down the stairs to get everyone and everything loaded into the van. I am so thankful we have the garage though...I can leave the door closed and do not have to worry about someone stealing my kid! LOL It sucks so bad to have to leave one child alone either in the car or the house...I feel so guilty when I have to do it...

shawna, meant to say i hope you guys feel better soon. we have a nasty, nasty virus going around these parts, too, but thankfully no one in this house has it! i'm hoping to make all the ped appts for after dh gets home from work since he gets home so early. our house is very close to the street and i can't leave anybody outside. we live in a decent neighborhood, but still. i'm paranoid!

Liza- in that case I would use a double stroller and put them into that first then keep the stroller close by while you load one in and then the other. (After they come out of the infant carriers because you can keep those in the house for the beginning) We live in a modified bi-level so the main floor is a set of stairs up. And then a smaller set down into the garage. I am looking forward to when they can walk but don't want to rush a thing...lol

Sandy- How do tackle loading your twins into the car when you're alone?
