The recent 'issues' are getting OUT of hand. Totally. Out. Of. Hand.

I hate to even do this - in fact, I HATE doing it at all - in the years since we built FertilityForums.com, we've NEVER had to post a message like this - but here we are.

I want to clarify a few things:

1. NO ONE has EVER been banned on these forums without being given a warning. (Caveat for spammers and the like)

2. If you get in a big ole huff and post a big ole "The moderators here suck, I'm taking my toys and leaving the sandbox" message on the forums - NEWSFLASH: We're not only deleting your post, we're also banning your account - you've basically just told us we suck and you hate us - you clearly don't want to be here and we certainly don't want you to feel like you have to come back.

3. While our rules may not specifically outline every specific individuality of all possible 'no no's' here on the forums, we do have one specific rule that we use as a catch all and we DO use it (and have been using it pretty heavy the last few days, since the (initially nice, but now kind of rude and disgusted) warnings are being ignored. That rule reads: FertilityCommunity.com reserves the right to edit, delete or otherwise moderate any postings made to its community of sites without warning or explanation. Members who require excessive moderation or whose participation results in excessive moderation may be banned. The last three days have been nothing BUT excessive moderation.

4. For privacy reasons, we're not going to talk to you about other peoples accounts. We're just not, so there really is no need to keep posting, over and over again, the messages wanting to know why someone was banned. They were banned for violating our rules, end of discussion.

5. Tenure as a member DOES NOT absolve you from following our rules. We still demand that our members participate in a respectful manner. It's always sad when a loved and long time member makes the decision to disregard our warnings and get themselves banned - but that's what's happened, they made the decision - plain and simple. There aren't two sets of rules here - one for long time members and one for everyone else. We all play by the same rules, period.

I am HAPPY (as I have always been) to reply to your private messages if you have specific questions. But the matters involving the aforementioned banned member(s) is done.

Had the user been a newbie – this discussion wouldn’t even be happening. That, in itself, should be enough to make you stop and think.

Now, if you have some respectful and honest questions, feel free to send them. I’m closing this thread because I’m not getting in a back and forth with anyone on the forums regarding this. For all intents and purposes, THIS matter is closed for open discussion.

Such an awful shame that the childishness continues this morning, to the point that three additional members have made the decision to violate the rules and get themselves banned.

We are no longer giving warnings on this matter. Nor are we giving breaks. We’ve given as many warnings as we plan to give (this thread included) and anyone else making the choice to continue this absolute ridiculousness will be banned permanently.
