Experience with embryoscopy
Hello. I had an embryoscopy 12 days ago and am still spotting every now and then. My RE only took the sac and the embryo but left my lining for me to shed naturally. He said it looked like the placenta hadn't formed properly, most likely b/c of a chromosomal abnormality or immune issue. We will know for sure in about another week. I had a beta hcg on Friday (9 days past the embryoscopy) and it was in the 1300s. My boobs had been hurting terribly over the weekend and I was lactating (sorry, tmi, I know) but after putting ice packs on them for about 20 minutes the past few nights and taking an anit inflammatory, they feel much better. This morning I went for an US and there was absolutely nothing there. My RE looked for any leftover tissue that could be producing the hcg and for any place where there was lots of blood flow and he didn't see anything! I had another beta hcg test today and am still waiting for the results. I keep telling DH all the beta hcg was in my boobs and now that they are feeling better, it must have been released! I am really hoping that is the hcg leaving my system (even though DH isn't happy b/c I think they are going back to their regular size!).
Does anyone have an experience with an embryoscopy were they were left to shed your lining on your own? How long did you have bleeding? How long did it take for you betas to get back to normal? Thanks for any replies!

Stephanie Me (26) Unexplained IF DH (27) Great 05/08 to 11/08- TTC naturally, irregular cycles 2 rounds clomid 50 & 100 mg and cenestin, no response 3/9/09- first RE appointment 4/6/09- Laparoscopy- Everything looks great May 09- first IVF cycle (low stim) Lupron, Dex, Bravelle, Menopur (21 retrieved, 18 mature, 15 fertilized) 5dayET (2 embabies) / 5 made it to freezing first beta 17 hpt faint  second beta 50 officially a 6/22 US- saw 1 sac in the right place! 6/29 US- at radiology ctr- no h/b 7/6 US- w/ RE- everything is great 7/10 US- w/ OB- measuring small 7/14 US- back to RE- no growth or h/b  7/15 embryoscopy Betas: 7/24- 1300 checked weekly until 9/9- 3; finally negative FET Oct 13, 09 Betas: 10/20 (6) 10/22 (7) 10/26 (36) 10/28 (180) 11/2 (1500) ectopic 11/6 (740) 11/13 (?) first baby, Kenna  sister and cousin (both unmarried and NOT ttc) and SIL got preggo during my *journey* hoping to show them up by having multiples

Stephanie,
I am very sorry for your loss. I don't have any experience with embryoscopy since I had a D&C. But, I know that it takes a while for HcG to go back to zero. I hope you feel better pretty soon.

Hi sweetie. As you know I don't have any experience with embryoscopy but yesterday my OB gave me some meds to stop the bleeding. It's called Methergine 0.2mg.
I don't know much about this medication but I'm to take it only for 5 days. I did PM you yesterday, I hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks Wanessa- I was replying to the PM as you were writing here! My bleeding has mostly stopped but if my beta level doesn't drop I will have to get a shot of the methotrexate. I can't decide if I want it or not. I have read you have to wait 2 or 3 cycles to try again if you get it. I don't know. My RE didn't talk much about it since he didn't know if that was what I would need. It just want this to be over!
