Miscarriage/D&C/endometrial testing

Sorry, I don't know lots of abbv. cuz I'm new to forums, but here is my question/story.

Has anyone with PCOS had a miscarriage & D&C with endometrial tissue biopsy, and what did it/can it reveal?

I wad dxd with insulin-resistant PCOS in 2003 by a Reproductive Endocrinologist, but the OBGYN I seen didn't really believe I had it based on his prelim. testing, but neither did the Endo doc until he did extensive testing.

OBGYN found I wasn't ovulating, but didn't believe it was from PCOS. But strangely, he offered to put me on Metformin or Clomid to see if I would get pregnant. (P.S., I'm 35). I chose Clomid and got pregnant on the first try, but I miscarried somewhere around week 8, but didn't have any symptoms of miscarriage, and still don't, but there was no heartbeat on ultrasound at 12 weeks and the size of embryo was 7.4 weeks. I have a D&C on Wed.

Since learning of miscarriage, I've been reading up on the rate of miscarriage of women with PCOS and how women with insulin-resistant PCOS can have poor egg quality and also possible luteal phase defect. I'm wondering if there are any tests that can be performed duirng the D&C that will tell me if this miscarriage was PCOS/hormone related. . . . Or if it is simply a chromosomal abnormality like the OBGYN seems to think it was.

Thanks.

I do not ( that I know of) have PCOS (not sure what that is really do not know the abbv yet) but I have had 4 misscarriages, all of them no symtoms yet they were all from 8-14 weeks. I was on hormones on 3 of the 4, and blood thinner shots the last one, I can tell you that I am now going on Climid. But the tissue biopsy on the baby and on my tissue. It showed that things are normal with me and on test on the baby (my precious little girl) showed that she had downs syndrome, what my OBGYN called a chormozonal abnormality which sounded so cold. The biopsy's can be a great help to you and the Dr to see what tests are needed. I feel for you having a D&C. It is hard and you feel like you are never going to be able to go through this again. I am 34 and told hubby we are trying just one more time because if we keep loosing babies he will loose me to a padded room and a jacket that zips in the back.

Thanks for your reply. I understand your grief and concerns, and I certainly will advocate for testing of my D&C tissues. PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which consists of hormone imbalances. Mine is specifically related to my body not using the insulin properly that it produces.
