way off topic but do others feel mad at celeb's?

Ok, I got the latest People mag this week and was sick to my stomache over the flaunting of having a baby by Angelina and Brad. I know that they both do so much for impoverished (spelling?) countries and for children there. But between them and Tom/Cat flaunting their children for money or fame makes me ill. Personally who cares if 2 adulterous "beautiful people" have a beautiful have the "most beautiful baby". Any baby is a beautiful baby. Why should I be accosted at the grocery store or drug store with these covers. Now to clarify I bought the Mag for the story of Taylor Hicks from American Idol (yeah a AI geek!) not that I was supporting the Angie/Brad baby. I am happy that they had a healty baby but hello............ he was married, had an affair, got another woman pregnant and people are praising them for it!
I am sorry if this is inapproperate to anyone, that is never my goal. I try never to attack people no matter what they do but I am OVER the celeb babies and how important the public makes them out to be!!!!! I think there should be a mag that shows babies of couples who have tried for years to have a baby, spent life savings, went through a living hell and may not be mag cover material. Now that would be good reading!!!

SO stupid!

I've pretty much been out of contact the last couple of days. I was reading a magazine on June 2 (one month since Cora was born) about Angelina. They were planning on delivering in Namibia but had a private jet on standby to rush her to a hospital IN PARIS if there were complications. IN PARIS! Hello! I don't know, maybe it's because I know how fast things can go wrong that I think this is the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard.

I didn't want anything to go wrong, but I was thinking that it would be fitting if she got scared, got on the plane, and delivered ON THE PLANE halfway to Paris. (But still had a healthy baby, because I wouldn't wish this on anyone)

And I can't help but think, what would have happened if some celebrity that had all this news about their baby when through what I did?

meremere,

I agree with every word you said! I avert my eyes when I see magazines b/c it makes me sick to my stomach! I was in fact just discussing (ranting more like it) this in a support group.

Slobin, (AKA Meredith)
Hey from another Meredith. I first off want to say I am glad that someone else thinks the same as I do about this. Second, I am so sorry to read your post of bad news. I broke my heart! Keep the faith someone out there has the info you need and will make all your dreams come true. I know IVF can be expensive but in the long run one more time could be the one time!!!
HUGS!!!

Thank you Meredith,

If no success by Oct we will do IVF. I'm pushing for sooner but DH is arguing with me about it- they are always slower to move with IF. I feel like I'm losing my mind and I need to be agressive.

I'm with all of you guys. I am so sick of hearing about every celeb being pg and expecting. Kudos to Brooke Shields, though for putting PPD in the spotlight. I had a mild version of it and it's not fun!!!

But I'm sick of Brangelina -- I actually can't stand Angelina Jolie -- and I'm fed up with hearing every gory detail about them! And as for TomKat, that's just annoying me, too. WHO CARES???? They aren't married, he's a psycho religious freak, and she can't open her mouth to say a word. PLEASE!!!!

Since I started this one I heard some sad news. There are some celebs that do not flaunt children.

Keanue Reeves lost a baby at birth due to still born in 1999. I never heard about that one until lately. Not all celebs have big well watched and publisized pregnancies or partners with pregnancies. It breaks my heart that he had this happen!!! Made me very sad!

That is sad, but you know what? It kind of proves my point in the thread about the epidsode of ER. Stillbirth is something that is still very unspoken in our society today. Honestly, before it happened to me and I found out through a little research that there is a stillbirth for every 115 live births, I thought it didn't happen anymore. I was in total shock. I thought modern medicine could take care of everything. I don't think that even if I knew how common it is mine would have been able to be prevented however.

I don't blame Keanu for not wanting to have his grief on every magazine in every store though.

So, I saw a People magazine when I was in the store today. "The most beautiful baby in the world"? I don't think so. The poor thing has Angie's mouth! Don't get me wrong, I think Angelina Jolie is a beautiful woman. I just don't think a baby should have her lips.

Is it terrible of me that my first thought was "My baby was prettier"?

I so agree

This subject has long infuriated me. I must admit I used to subcribe to people magazine and some others...but no more. I rarely even go see a movie anymore. I am so tired of reading about these "beautiful people" and their comments and the way they lead their lives...and get paid millions upon millions of dollars. As far as I'm concerned the millions should be paid to people who are worth it...and do jobs that better our world...and not just read a peice of paper and act. Policemen who risk their lives everyday to keep us from harm and protect us from evildoers...Teachers who teach our children...Firemen who risk their lives putting our fires and keep us and our property safe...the men and women in the Armed Forces...who are shipped God knows where to fight for our rights and keep our country safe. These are the people who should be wealthy...not those others we read about in magazines. I'm tired of them making stupid comments...Tom Cruise thinks if we're depressed or mentally unstable we should take vitamins and excerise...what the heck is wrong with him? They are no better than anyone else...but they have money and think they are the second coming of Christ. They are just as bad and do just as much damage as the models...how everyone wants to be like them...look like them...on and on. Being beautiful on the outside is not what life is all about...being beautiful on the inside...dealing with everyday live and struggles...that's what makes us beautiful and worthy.
