Amy- No recommendations on SUVs...just to get a hybrid is all. I might be getting a new diesel SUV too...but I have to convince DH it's a good idea since my car is only a year old and has just 10,000 kms on it. Have fun car shopping!

Happy Early Birthday Tia!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Well I'm off now, DH is home and I wanna spend time with him!

No more talk about dinosaurs, Ronni and Tia, as I seem to be the only one here in her 40's. You are all wee babies compared to my advanced age!

Here is my two cents on the various baby topics:

1. Vaccines - I didn't let them do ANYTHING to DD when she was born...nothing in the eyes, no injections, only clean her and warm her and then she stayed with me for the rest of our stay. She is now 3 1/2 and she has gotten exactly TWO DTaP vaccines and that is all. Sorry, Jen, but I consider myself a scientist too and I have researched this topic relentlessly. I will get her MMR series when she is older, and of course eventually she will have to have her rabies shot. But for now she is smart and happy and wonderful and I have no intentions of letting vaccines alter that.

2. Baby clothes - almost everything DD has from her shoes to her ski parka to her sparkly Princess jeans (but not her underwear or socks) came from my best friend whose girls had outgrown them. Bless my friend, because she saved me a ton of money (and shopping, which I hate). Don't ask me what the poor brother-to-be is going to wear. I hope he likes sparkly jeans!

Shawna - I forgot to say please STEP AWAY from the tattoo parlor. I have two rings which I will send you instead....one says HOPE and one says FAITH and I wore them and Jen's charm throughout every day of the last few cycles. Until my fingers got pudgy If you wear those instead of tattoos then you can easily remove the rings when you get tired of them!

Good to see you Jo!!! I've missed you around here!

April - Got your PM and the weekend of the 25th should be perfect! I'm pretty sure I'll be in CO without DH that weekend so I'll be looking forward to girl time! Is Mel going to come there to visit? It must be fate that makes things like this work out so well.

Jen - Block your calendar for the weekend of 4/25. I'm determined to "wish my cyst away" so I can finally get this show on the road.

Shawna - I love Jo's idea of inspirational jewelry instead of tatoos! I'm ink-free and have only been tempted once or twice. (I think those were also the times I was bordering on severe alcohol poisoning.) I can give myself PIO shots all day long but get queasy thinking about tatoos.

Jo - You'll be pleased to hear that Buster is being a good(ish) boy. He still digs from time to time (not in the digging pit DH built for him, of course) but we've learned that he's trying to get to the baby bunnies that have taken up residence under our arbor/deck. They're so frickin cute! I leave carrots out for them each night when we bring Buster in and then I watch them eat from my bedroom window. Buster and Tucker seem to have come to an understanding that they're going to have to coexist. Tucker still hisses and swats (without claws) but I think he's just doing it for fun and Buster just sits there and takes it. It's funny to watch. Eventually Tucker scampers off and Buster just sits and watches. We even left Buster IN THE HOUSE with Tucker while we went out for an hour the other day and we came home to peace and quiet. That was the first time Buster was in the house alone with Tucker. Huge milestone for us! Buster has put on about 12 pounds since we got him and his coat is now beautiful and shiny! I didn't realize what bad shape he was in when we got him. Poor thing. We love him. He gets selsun blue and oatmeal shampoo baths and is a happy camper!

How's your baby boy doing in there and how's your clinic? I have a funny visual of you taking the boy around town in sparkly jeans!

OMgoodness the pictures are cute April and Jen. You look like you've known each other for years.

I hope you have a great birthday Tia.

Me and DH are both messy. He's slightly better. We try. I'm more likely to attack the laundry piles, while he's more likely to clean dishes/kitchen etc.. which I think is fair because he's the one that uses every pot in the house and flicks the scraps on the floor while telling me that's normal because he worked in a restaurant and they had people to sweep after them. Grrr.

What can I say, I'm an inked freak...only wanting more! lol. Although I'm still only 95% sure on the wrist tattoos.....

Jo- Great to see you!! How are you feeling? I miss you around here!

Jen and April- Love the photos!

I Hope everyone is having a fantastic Saturday. We're going to drop off my truck and be rid of it today. I can't decide if I'm happy or sad. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because it's cute, it's a five speed and it was mine...I hate it because it's a ford, it's small and it's lame without my sub in there and DH has taken it over. I guess I should be happy to still have my gangsta car for a while, unless I can convince Dh to trade it in on a luxury SUV. lol.

Ronni - I just have this feeling that you and I were seperated at birth I always wanted a sister! If dh ever leaves for a few days, I immediately start cleaning. He's not too messy but it's just the whole leaving things everywhere. He has this annoying habit of using a paper towel twice so he leaves it on the countertop in the meantime. Drives me nuts. The good news for us clean house people - the vacuum puts the baby to sleep!

Amy - I have a hybrid suv and love it!! I sometimes only fill up once a month and it's a big driving city here. Have to admit it's a luxury one too... a lexus. But, in our defense, we only had two options for full size suvs that still fit through our stupid 8.5 foot wide garage doors. So, beware if you are putting it in a garage with split doors - try it before you buy it!

Hi Jo!! You are too funny with the vaccines and dd. Did they give you a hard time about kindergarten? I'm hoping if I start him in a religious school for preschool than they'll look the other way.

Tia - Happy early birthday!

Kelly - Do I have another Passover buddy? I hate it more than the Yom Kippur fast! Give me one day of no food over a week bread and pasta free anytime! I'm such a carb addict. No wonder I look like two J Lo's! I'll be living on cottage cheese and fruit for lunch and matzah pizzas over here.

Just finished a workout at the gym. It's still rainy over here and I was going stir crazy. I did pilates sculpt - it's pilates with weights. I made it through the whole hour but my lack of flexibility is really humorous! Aiden is always flirting with all the daycare workers when I pick him up. He's just sitting peacefully in the bouncey seat (never does that at home and we have the same one!) and is smiling and flirting with whatever person he has convinced to sit there and bounce him. Too funny. He is going to be trouble... must have gotten those twinkley blue eyes from my dad. Gets him away with murder too

Susan, about the Papasan, DD napped in it for months. It's very cozy, but probably not the one you'll want to put her in for visual stimulation. But when they're newborn, they just want to snuggle and nap anyway (when they're not crying and pooping that is )

Do you think i could transition her into a jumper or an activity gym (on the floor) after that for stimulation?

Definately. DD spent many an hour banging, kicking grabbing and crashing into an activity thing on the floor. When they start grabbing their feet and kicking stuff above them you think they're going to be a genuis.

happy early birthday tia!!!

Amy- I like the Lexus SUVs and the BMW X5!
I say hybrid too though. Gas is awful right now!

I paid $3.30 for regular today!

SO DH and I stretched my legs out by taking a walk around BRU today. I was on him about not spenidng enough time here or being involved with the preg, so he suggested it last night.

He also came home with "I'm sorry" flowers and a gift which I have not opened today b/c I was still mad at him. He thinks his behavior is somehow forgotten or excused after bringing home flowers, when all I really want is to have him here.

Martie which Peg Perego did you get? I saw a really lightweight one today... Hmmm. I can't decided. I brought the other one back but put it on my registry just in case. I am still not sold on spedning that much money!
I love the baby bargains book.
DH and I just got into a debate about vaccinations (good thing for all of us he will not be going to the peds appts). He says there is no conclusive scientific data out there on it.
I do beleive I will be seperating the vaccines and not doing any in the hospital(hep). But here we cannot put the kids into early chid schools without it. We are not big on religion so private religious schools won't help us. ughhh. so much to think about.

I will try to seperate the MMR though. That one I am worried about.

Rach- Did you have a minute to look and see what else I should register for???

Susan - You added a bunch of stuff! Including the sterilizer that I am now addicted too. I put pacis in there, breast pumps parts and all sorts of stuff. Here are a couple of other things we have:
Baby Einstein™ Seek & Discover Deluxe Activity Gym - Kids II - Toys "R" Us

You need some sort of cover for the changing pad. We have just a white chamois one. I would recommend getting two and then I keep a cradle pad on top that can be easily washed without having to take the whole thing apart. You learn to be a very quick diaper changer!

Maybe some baskets for organizing toys and the diaper and bath stuff?

Some bath soap and after bath lotion. People like the Aveno or we use the J&J Lavendar products. They have cute baskets at bru with all the stuff loaded in.

I would get one more set of parts for the pump b/c you have to wash all the parts after every use.
Medela Breast Shield with Valve and Membrane - Medela - Babies "R" Us

I like having a paci case for the diaper bag so I'm not always searching for one and we use these pacis.
