Thanks Rach-
my mom bought me two covers for the pad (you meant the changing pad, right?)
I was relly unsure what nipples to be using. I wanted to use all natural which would be rubber with the allergen washed out, but i am nervous b/c i have a latex allergy and the baby may as well.
I wanted to stay clear of anything else. hmmm...

I also don't want her to get too attached to a paci as I am going to try to breast feed as often as I can. i read that using a paci too soon can turn them off to your breast.
i guess it's best to have them just in case though!
Thanks so much!
I think I registered for the activity gym somewhere else.

Rachael (or anyone else) - Does your DH have the annoying habit of not completely closing any drawers. I will admit, I'm borderline obsessive compulsive and I can spot a crooked picture a mile away - BUT - how does someone close a drawer just part of the way and think that's okay? I can't sit comfortably in any room in my house if there's an issue like that in plain sight.

Oh, and what about leaving pocket change all over the place. DH dumps his right on the kitchen counter when he walks in. I've bought him several solutions for where to put his change, but he only likes the kitchen counter for some retarded reason. There's usually a golf tee and some pocket lint mixed in with it too which just about makes me break into hives.

I'm completely anal about most things but have actually gotten better about it in the past few years. I have no idea where this trait came from as my mom and dad are not neat freaks at all.

Okay, so now you all know the real me. Twisted, huh?

Ronni..I feel your pain..Mel does the same thing with the kitchen cabinets..and also leaving crumbs on the counters after making a sandwich..I hate that! Oh..one more...toothpaste marks in the bathroom sink..That one makes me ballistic too! But, I guess we take the good with the bad..I'm sure there are plenty of things I do that drive her nuts! Like nagging her all the time to be neat..

Deus leaves drawers half way open with clothes hanging out. CLosets open with clothes on the floor, toothpaste in the sink (yuck), crumbs on the counter. linen closet door halfway open in the middle of the night... bang my head... ughh..
i don't like it at all!
Ronni- I am the same as you. i can see it a mile away or even hear that he left one open downstairs(how bad is that?).

Ok Rachael and Ronni are not invited to my house they would die!!

Susan I am hoping to get the Peg Perrego Pliko P3 as it is very light weight and you can use it with a car seat. It also has a little step on the back that can be used for an older child (we have 3 more frozen embryos, so who knows) I have been researching this stroller for like 3 months. Hopefully I will get it. if not I am going to buy it myself.

Oh Ronni!! Yes to the change everywhere!! I finally just put a jar on the kitchen counter and he dumps it there. Lots of semi open cabinets too. Actually, if you want to be really anal the drawers in the nursery have that automatic close feature and he still doesn't get them closed. I even noticed on our kitchen tour last weekend that the drawers were installed a couple of millimeters off so they weren't quite even and it was bugging me Also, ALWAYS leaves the baby wipes open and they dry up. We have separate sinks so I don't pay attention to the toothpaste... What other annoying habits can we think of?

Susan - We don't let Aiden nap or sleep with the paci. I didn't want to get into that firedrill everytime it falls out. So, once he is drowsy, I take it out of his mouth. Hmmm. I don't have any good answers as far as the nipples. I think the ones with the evenflo bottle are latex right? If you are really thinking about the quinny, I might have to try to talk you into my stroller. It's about the same price and I love having the bassinett attachment. Aiden naps in it everywhere. It's like a second crib for him. We've never even used the pack n play yet. We just always take the stroller for him and you can take the bassinett off like a moses basket.

Gotta go cook some dinner. We're having turkey chili in bread bowls for our yucky dreary day and dh is actually going to be home at a normal hour!

Susan - You've started a monster. Just thought of two other little things. I liked the Dr. Brown's Lace Contoured Washable Breast Pads better than the disposable ones or the evenflo washable ones. Also, a friend suggested buying a 12 pack of the gerber cloth diapers as burp cloths. Brillant! We have the nice ones for when we go out but use the cloth diapers at home and I don't feel bad if it gets gross and I have to chuck it.

I just got a letter from our RE saying they audited our account and they owe us money. Unheard of. Hmmm. DH got a letter too. The letter doesn't say how much but wants our credit card number to refund it too. Might have to call them on this one... a little fishy... plus the credit card has already been paid off. Why didn't they just send us a check? Weird.

Yep. We have the Mutsy 4rider light. You can also use it as a snap and go and it has the footboard like Martie was talking about for an older child to run behind...

Susan, DD never really took to a pacificer as far as sleeping was concerned, but at first she loved the big green ones that they gave her in the hospital. She b/f for 8 months before kicking me to the curb so I don't think it hindered that at all. You may have heard differently from friends. There have been more articles about there being a lower chance of SIDS when they sleep with pacifiers. If I ever get the chance to be a mother of a newborn again, I might encourage more pacificer sleeping habits.

Thanks Heidi- And not if, but when you get to be a mom to a newborn again.

I do like the soothies that Rachael recommended, I think those are the ones they give them in the hospital.

Martie I will look at yours too!

Ok, now DH wants the Mountain Buggy Urban stroller b/c our neighbors have it and the husband likes it. That's all DH needed to hear.

Martie we'll check yours out too! Sounds like you are making some good progress.

While we're sharing, I did this before Aiden was born and it's been really helpful. It's one of those places that cooks meals. The one here makes the meals for either 3 people or 6 people. We did the meals for 3 people and it came out to $11 a meal so really affordable. Sometimes I'll add some extra sides. Tonight's meal was turkey chili so I bought bread bowls to put the turkey in. Thursday's meal was a crusted chicken with a corn and tomato salsa so I bought some mexican rice and steamed broccoli as sides. But, it's really nice just to have something in the freezer that is a dinner ready to go. See if there is anything like this in your areas especially if your dh's doesn't cook like mine They pack all the ingrediants seperately and you just have to follow the instructions and cook them on the stove. Most take about 10 mins. and our place offers a different menu every month. Plus, with the costs of groceries these days, $11 a meal is cheaper than I can cook most nights....
The Dinner A'Fare | 12 Meals. 2 Hours. Simple.

I told the nurses not to give Aiden a paci in the nursery just so he wouldn't get hooked but we definitely use it just to help calm him for naps. I only did that in the hospital b/c a friend told me her dd woke up all night long b/c she was constantly spitting out the paci when she feel asleep and it became an ongoing war. The soothies are the ones they give them in the hospital.

OK... dh is here trying to convince Aiden to smell his wine and keeps sticking his noise in the wine glass. This is their hour of bonding time...
