I'm just depressed tonight for Ronni and in lurker mode IF is pure evil some of these days.

Susan - I like Annabelle Grace too. We had voted on Annabella before the anatomy scan b/c I thought Bella is a cute nickname.

Well, Aiden didn't flip immediately to his tummy tonight so we'll see what the night brings...

Nite Nite. I'm going to bed dreaming of pgfkrs.

Wow! Thanks Rachael. That was a really nice compliment. :-)

Tia, you are zipping along. I remember getting SOOOOO EMOTIONAL right before my cycle too. You put so much hope in your heart. How can you not be a bit weepy or scared? This is very exciting.

Kelly, BCP was to make sure you don't get pregnant before taking the lupron but mostly to make your cycle dates more predictable. About bringing the points to you acupuncturist. You could just bring the pages in question photocopied and ask her to explain them to you. That way you know she has read them and can ask whether she does the same ones. About the cysts, it would be interesting to know whether the kind of cysts they are? Are they endometriomas or follicular cysts? I can understand that she wants to keep it the same since you got pregnant before. Is there a concern you want to bring up? I am so excited for you, Kelly.

Tia, Kelly, and Jen are coming up soon!

ronni, i don't even know what to say except that i am very, very sorry. it is so unfair and sh*tty. i hope you're doing okay.

josie, for the first time in ... i think 6 or 7 years, i haven't had to change my thyroid meds at ALL in 9 months. during first 12 weeks, they were checking it almost every week at RE. then i started going to my endocrinologist about once a month, and it has stayed stable. i was surprised because my numbers are normally all over the map when i'm not pregnant. with regard to communicating with RE - if it was something like your example, i'd leave a message with the nurse for your doctor to call so you can ask all your questions.

kelly, good luck with your consult tomorrow. how big are your cysts? if they are small they should resolve on their own. i can't think of any questions to ask your doctor, especially since you did get pregnant last time. did you already review your progesterone numbers with her from your pregnancy - ie. were they high enough?

tia no more crying for you today!

Kelly - Cysts are fairly normal... it's when they get large and take over that they cause concern. If your RE just noted that you have two cysts, it's probably just to keep an eye on them because they can't stimulate your eggs with them there or they'll get bigger. The bcp, in my case, was to suppress the baby-maker hormones so that my cycle was more predictable and they could control the dates and growth for maximum success. Also, bcps are higher doses of estrogen which serve to reduce cysts and follicular activity so that they can start from scratch and get as many follicles to grow at the same time as your body will allow, rather than just a handful of 15s and a handful of less than 9s... they'd all be (for the most part) 15s (of course, you will almost always have a dominant follicle or two). So, bcps suck, yes, but they have a good purpose. Also, BostonIVF is literally across the street from where I work... I thought about going there but my RE recommended I go to the Reproductive Science Center in Lexington... and I loved it there. It definitely felt more personal and more engaging and the people there made it feel like they were just as desperate to make this work for me as I was... maybe desperate is the wrong word... but you know what I mean, right? I would absolutely consider giving them a call. The doctor who did my ER and ET was not the doctor that I spoke to or got my approval from but when she was doing the transfer, she asked if I wanted a picture of the embryos, I said yes, I took the picture and started to cry... the doctor stopped for a moment, and started to well up, too. I felt like she really felt what I had been going through. I did not feel like I was sitting in a factory.

Susan - That really sucks about the insurance... man, I was all excited, too. Maybe I should double check on my insurance, too...

Kelly-
My Dh had stopped taking everything, all of his vitamins, three months before our last cycle too. I was furious. I could not believe he could sit there and watch me stick dozens of needles in my belly and butt and endure the pain of loss and not do his part!
What a pgfckr.

Josee- Nope, no French here. Just Filipino, Itlaian and Irish. Interesting combo. I can't wait to see her skin tone! Dh is pretty dark caramel looking so with my fair to medium skin and his, we should have a pretty tanned baby
As for the eyes, well I think we have a 1% chance of having blue or green, but everyone has brown on his side and just a few of my family members have green and blue.
Not me though. Poop brown for me.
I think my baby has a really pointy nose and I will feel bad for her if she gets my nose.

Shelly- I think I might be able to pull something off with my IUGR issues and the breastpump. I will talk to the OB next week. B/c she is slow to grow and in the low percentiles they may be able to say it's important that I breast feed. Plus if she is low birth weight she may require a NICU stay for a few days.
We'll see. I have Health Mate Coast to Coast. What about you?
Which Boston IVF do you work across from? I used to go to Brookline and Waltham.

I too take synthryoid, just .25mgs. I was hyperthyroid at one point and I took meds to bring me down...but it supressed my levels a little too much. Been taking meds since college.

Thanks ladies for answering all my questions and giving me tips!

We fill you in after my call w/ RE.

Good morning everyone.

Ronni, I just wanted to wish you a better day than yesterday...

I am on Unithroid 25 mcg. Seems like we are mostly on the same dosage.

Kris, you are about to be reborn yourself. It is magical.

DH and I fought like cats and dogs last night over seeing his family. Everytime we have to see them, we fight. I don't like them. I think they are rude, ignorant, and boring. They have nothing that endears them to me. They aren't nice to my husband. They've never even ask what I do for a living or anything. They vote the other way. They think Harry Potter is dangerous but the war in Iraq is a good idea. They eat nothing but prepared foods. Last time we went, we drove to visit them and they ordered pizza for dinner. Then they asked for half the money for the pizza! (He's a partner in a law firm and she works too!) Come on! $10. Should I ask for gas money? They don't like wine (GASP!). They watch TV more than they talk. If I talk to my SIL, she'll walk out of the room. Last year I was planning an anniversary party for DH's parents with her. I did all the work for weeks. I created a huge album for his mom. She finally said she couldn't do her part so instead I planned a fun day in Chitown for everyone. Then, the following weekend when Parents IL went to visit them, they gathered a bunch of people for a bbq and called it an anniversary party. So now everyone thinks I didn't show up for the anniversary party. So if I can't have respect, good conversation, good food, or good drink, why would I want to see them? Can you tell I don't like them?

All that said, I am afraid I was a bit too rough last night with my words. I just get so vulnerable when I have to see them. DH tells me not to give them any power over me. But I do. How lame. Sunday is gonna suck. It is his 14 year old neice's confirmation and jr. graduation party. I went out and got her a small Coach purse to bring to highschool next year. She is a very smart child with remarkable athletic abilities. Since she has all that, I thought I'd help her with street cred in the highschool fashion show. I hope Coach is cool in highschools these days.

ARGHHHH!
