Yay Martie!!! That's fricken cool - I can understand how you'd be excited and scared at the same time.

Tia - Hope you're resting up and getting ready for the 2ww! We'll be with you the whole way!!

Just visited with grandpa and hit the grocery store. One of the magazines at the checkout (D Magazine - which focuses on Dallas events and stuff), has the "Best Doctors in Texas" in this month's edition. They're selected by fellow doctors. All the doctors vote on who they'd refer their patients and family members to. Well...my RE is nowhere on the list. There are 6 infertility specialists on the list but not my RE. Hmmmm...need to do some research...

Thanks Ronni, I would check out the reasons why your RE is not on the list. Have you seen your RE's success rate on the CDC website? Just because other drs would not refer a patient to your RE doesn't mean he is not good. In my case there is really no other choose unless we want to go to Chigago, Detroit, or Indinapolis (sp) but he really does have good stats so I trust him. Plus we did get pregnant last time and hopefully this time.

Devan-you look so cute in your military stuff. Okay, I mean tough...I am scared

Heidi-I am sorry about your sister's comments. I know people mean well. I am bracing myself for a slew of comments next weekend when my inlaws are in town!!!

Rachael-sorry about your Dawgs. I can say that cause my Gators are ranked higher. I can't believe South Florida is ranked #6!!!

Alana-the test device for a hpt that gives you a number would be WAY too expensive for a home thing. I will keep thinking of your other ideas though

Tia- for your 5 follies!!! I hope you are resting well

Martie- are you gonna poas again tomorrow? SO exciting! October IS a good month!

Ronni- Hi hun. I think you should give up your RE and come to Denver. CCRM supposedly is ranked one of the top centers in the US. You can stay with me

Shawna-I am glad DH had a good Ride Along. So what is his next step in becoming a cop?

Okay, I will have some photos of some of the glass charms I got back today. I put in another load, but they won't be ready until sometime this week. Oh, and DH is gonna get me a kiln real soon! The place I do my firing at is selling their small kiln. I am going to get an attachment so I can use it to make glass beads/lampworking. Once I get that, we will get the ventilation/electricity going in our garage, then I will get the larger kiln.

OH, and my fingers are all cut up from the glass That is the one draw back to my hobby...

Hello all!
Ronni- I would not worry about the RE. We have a magazine here that publishes top docs every month. It all about who votes and who gets paid by whom. My DH is a surgeon and he is considered a top surgeon in RI but has never been listed in the magazine( and quite frankly wishes never to be listed!). The docs listed in there are ones I would never send my dogs to. And every RE clinic says they are the top clinic in the US. I go to Boston IVF which is also a "top clinic in the US" It's all about your experience with the doctor and their ethics.

I still want pancakes. Just came back from Oktoberfest in Newport RI with DH and some friends. It was a lot of fun.
Tia- Looking good hun.
Martie- Crossing my fingers and toes for you.
nite guys. I am feeling full.

Thanks Susan. Now I want pancakes!

So this coming Friday MIL and FIL are coming in. That night is the Great American Beer Festival. MIL got tickets for all of us, 2 non-drinkers, 2 drinkers. WTF? Can I drink? I will be CD13. I go in for my CD12 u/s on Thurs. If my righties are dominant ( ) then I still wouldn't trigger until probably Sat. and IUI on Monday. There will be hundreds and hundreds of beer!?!?!?!

Gators are winning.

On the topic of what stupid things people say...I"m going on what stupid things people send. My SIL, she knows what we're going through but her and I have had a major falling out. she can't keep her comments to herself...well she sends me an email entitled "Baby's first Exam"...now I know that it was meant to be somethign for me to laugh at, but instead it just really made me wonder why they're not getting it. I'll share the entire email...but the title nearly made me vomit. Am I too sensitive?
BABIES FIRST EXAMINATION

This made me laugh out loud.. I hope it will bring a smile ...

A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room,
waiting for the doctor to come in for the baby's first exam.

The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight,
and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed?

'Breast-fed,'she replied.

'Well, strip down to your waist,' the doctor ordered.
She did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded,
and rubbed both breasts for a while in a very professional and detailed examination.

Motioning to her to get dressed the doctor said,
'No wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.'

'I know,' she said,
'I'm his Grandma, but I'm glad I came.

Shawna, I'll admit I did chuckle a bit at that email. However that doesn't mean it wasn't completely insensitive of your SIL to send it. If any of you ever watched 'Sex and the City' maybe you remember the 'cardboard baby' episode? Where Charlotte, who can't get pregnant and is doing IVF etc, has her hubby give her a cardboard cutout of a baby as a joke and she quite rightly flips out and starts crying etc. It was such an insensitive moment, and your SIL is doing the same thing. Its like I said in an earlier post.....other people just DONT GET IT!!!!

Rachael, the tiny u/s machine sounds great. I will have to search out that ER episode and check it out. I'm not giving up on the beta HPTs yet either. There has just GOT to be a way. It would make us a fortune.

Yeah, Shawna- I did get a chuckle but I agree with Alana. It was unsensitive of your SIL to send that.

Did someone mention Say Anything recently? I love that movie!!! I love John Cusak! I saw him once at a Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago.

Alana-you mentioned about Abby and Dr. whatever his name is, can't remember, being the only ones left from the original cast. Well, there is actually no one left from the original cast. These guys were a couple of seasons out. I used to like ER alot. Now I may catch one or 2 shows a season. The cast has turned over too many times. I think Noah Wiley was the last original cast member.

DH is driving me nuts switching from the Rockies game to the Gator game and back. Ugh!

OK. I think I've caught Jen's Clomid hormones. I've been a wreck for three days now. I have no idea what is going on but it's got to be a hormonal thing. I know I've got things on my mind but nothing like this! Poor DH just got home and wanted to know why I was crying and I can't even explain it to him b/c I want to stop crying so I can breathe again. URGH!! I need my relaxation glass of wine.... 11 more weeks

Jen - You're team is beating some butt over there! Wow. It's not going to be a pretty game in two weeks. Oh, and I think you could drink (in moderation) at Oktoberfest. Why not? Those eggies have been in your body for how many years & drinks now? It was me with ER & Say Anything. Abby is still on ER and I love watching those 80's movies. Watched St. Elmo's Fire last weekend.

Susan - I've got one of those pancake mixes over here that comes in individual packets and you just add water. Real handy for those breakfast cravings! Glad you had fun in Newport. I'm sure the weather is gorgeous there right now.

Shawna - I'm with you on the stupid ILs tonight. I've got to stop obsessing about mine. Driving me nuts. Some people just didn't get in line for the sensitivity gene I guess

Ronni - I don't think it matters about your doctor being on the list. I too think it has to do with whose willing to advertise. My clinic is the largest in GA and I don't think my doctor made the list and I loved him. I would expect some sort of answers on Monday. I know this isn't a black and white science but there must be something they can tell you. If you're not thrilled, I would be willing to take my records to another doctor for a second opinion. A consultation never hurts. Definitely look at the success rates too on the CDC website and see where your clinic falls compared to others.

Alana - I saw that episode of Sex In the City! I forgot all about the cardboard baby!

I've decided in my quest for clarity in life and for being happy with every aspect of my life no matter what, I need to write my mother a letter and let her know just how her comments, her lack of support, her always acting uncomfortable with our IF is making me feel. I need my mom to be here for me and I have no one IRL...I have you girls here, my DH...and a friend of mine that I don't see often. But other then that, I am a lost soul in away. And yes, I'll be adding things about them telling my SIL to keep things to herself. Her telling me abotu her sister who keeps using abortion as a form of birth control is beyond what I need to hear! I do not want to hear about her murderous sister any longer!

Another thing...Ladies I wanted to share this blog post with you....

Taking the Statistical Bullet: Living In the Gap

I applaud her!

I'm so afraid that after I finally do have a baby that my brain will go right back into thinking about the next time I want to get pregnant...I mean I know, for the love of GOd, that there is no way I won't appreciate my baby, but I'm afraid that I'm living in the gap.....

oooh, add my mom to the list of stupidest comments on the planet...

I called her up to see how she was holding up... and she said she was on her way with my sister's boyfriend's parents (you follow?) to go do stuff (they were friends beforehand), maybe go out to eat, shop, etc... well, then she proceeds to tell me "Then us grandparents are going to go bowling..." I wanted to throw up. She's already calling herself a grandmother... (and for those just tuning in, my 17 year old sister is knocked up with her 16 year old boyfriend's baby... my very own sister is now one of those girls I look at in disgust and bitter, bitter jealousy... and it sucks.)

Ugh, anyways, Susan, Oktoberfest is coming to Wachusett next weekend... that's what we'll be doing! They have the BEST wafflehaus yumminess there... they're not pancakes but they make up for their lack of pancakiness in yumminess. The sky ride is the best because you can see for miles and all the leaves have changed... oh, it's really the most beautiful. You should totally try to make it up there next weekend... you, too, Heidi... Stella would have a great time. They have all kinds of events there for the kids... pony rides and everything. So much fun.

For all of you, throw out the darn magazines... they will fill your head with nothing but junk... and they won't make you feel any better about yourself... I think that's the whole reason they're printed... to make women hate themselves... for whatever reason under the sun, they'll make you hate something about yourself...

Took my last BCP tonight! YAY! I've been much better hormone-wise since I started lupron... still a little short... but better. No more BCPs, though... and my suppression check wednesday... eek!

Love you girls... like woah. Thanks for being my therapy... Lord knows I need it.

Morning all! I just had toast with plum jam!

Shawna, the Gap thing is true. I swore that all I needed was "a" baby, but now my heart is being torn apart by the fact that I can't give Stella a sibling. It's insane, somehow I'm ravaged with guilt that I can't give her a brother or sister (my SIL telling me that she needs a sibling does NOT help). So the quest for something else never ends it's true. I think you can try and adjust your thinking and live in the moment, and believe me I would be foolish to not appreciate what I have, but it's not as simple as that sometimes. It's the lack of control and the unfairness that lives on, even after the first baby.

I say these things, not to say that that will happen to anyone else. But I can relate to that story 'tis all. And some people only want one child, I just wish my inner thinkings would get on board with that too.

Ya know, sometimes I wish there was a way to edit your former posts because there's nothing worse than reading something you wrote earlier and wondering why the heck you wrote that.

I just don't want any of you guys to think I'm being a jerk about the comments on formerly having only wanted one baby and now poor me I can't have more. I hope it isn't interpreted that way or that I offend those of you who are in a quest to have their first baby. Just don't want to offend people who want only one child or were only children themselves.

I think what gets me in turmoil is when Stella is around other families or in particular her cousins whom all have siblings and she starts asking me, "who's my brother?, or where's my sister?" Ugh, it's like a knife. I know it's just her inquisitive age.
