Wow! Good for you for letting go Shelly! You will have those miraculous miracles!

Shawna- maybe pg? I didn't know about Oct 15. I got a few candles to light that day.

DH just made chicken and mushroom risotto w/ balsamic vinegar. Yum!
But now I want carrot cake...

I am pretty weepy...I don't know why.

Shelly it's good to hear you sounding so much better. There will be good and bad days I'm sure but I'm glad you're seeing some brightness.

Sign me up for being weepy too. I haven't stopped being an emotional wreck since our RE appointment this morning. He just made it all sound so bleak and hopeless. DH and I agree we're done with that RE. I don't think he's a bad doctor. Good actually, but we're ready for another opinion or two or three. Time to step back and re-think things a little I guess.

I did fill out an info form for CCRM and hope they'll review my records when I have everything together. DH doesn't want to head to Colorado for this and neither do I...but I at least want to hear what the best in the country have to say about our situation.

If my digital camera was working I'd go take a pic of DH right now while he's watching the Cowboy game. Talk about bad attire...

Shawna - Very funny about the cream cheese cravings. It's a good thing I didn't know about the carrot cake at Quiznos since there is one right down the street from my house! Maybe your body is really craving some extra calories. My DH has been really lucky so far. He was even bragging the other day... I haven't sent him on any midnight craving runs. The only things I've craved are PB&J sandwiches & Raisan Bran. Very weird I know but at least I can make both for myself! But, I don't keep sweets in the house and I really wanted something tonight.

Shelly - You sound very at peace tonight. I'm so happy for you. I know this has been a very painful step in the process. But, you need to focus on you right now and make that your priority. I just really believe that the positive thinking has an impact on the ivf cycle. Yes, your baby-to-be is going to be truly blessed with two wonderful supportive parents that love him/her even on the worst of the terrible twos days!

Ronni - I'm so glad you are going for the 2nd opinion!! Did you think about starting a thread in the IVF group too and see if anyone has a doctor near you that they really like?

Jen - I'm so jealous your DH cooks over there...

So, I also realized tonight that all form of my wonderful memory is gone. I have lists all over the house (to the point that DH bought me a notebook w/o any proding on my part). I also forgot one of my BF's b-days last week. And, tonight, I just realized that we missed one of our hospital classes that I paid $50 for already. URGH!! Now I can't find another class with an opening till November at which point I am supposed to be on house restriction. I've got to start relying on my calendar....

Okay, I can't really criticize DH for his clothing right now. I'm in my "pre-bedtime-jammies" and I look hideous. White flannel pajama pants with light blue snowflakes on them...black Cuervo tequilla shirt that's 3 sizes too big...pink fuzzy socks. Yeah. I'm a hottie.

Your poor Dh Ronni- Dallas is losing. Ooops, Dh said that Buffalo just scored.

Speaking of pj's and bad dressing... yesterday I had to go start some cultures at work in the evening. Well, I had already put on my flannel red pj bottoms with the moose on them. So, DH takes me to work, but before that to Home Depot, and yup, you guessed it, to Kohl's. So I was out about town in my pjs. It would have been okay if I was wearing a matching sweatshirt, but no, I was wearing a powder blue sweatshirt. Not cool .

In grad school I used to wear my flannel pj bottoms to lab in the winter They are comfy! Although they do make me look very young...not that I am complaining about that!

At least your PJ's fit!! I had to go buy new PJs at Target (of all places) yesterday b/c I decided it was a waste to invest any money in XL pajamas. Yep XL!! Don't want anything too clingy at the moment. Oh, and DH didn't notice a bit that I was wearing a cute new PJ (with lace) instead of the tank top and sweat skirt that I've been wearing for the past week.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one with the flannel pajama bottom addiction. Yeah, it's still 80 degrees here in Dallas but when I get home from work, all I want to do is put on my pajama pants. I haven't worn them into a store yet but I'm sure that day isn't far away...

I thought all the clinical IVF stuff was killing my sex life -- maybe it's the pajamas?!

Rachael - I have a consultation with the RE that Mirka used. She really didn't like him or his office staff but his success rates are good. He and my RE actually back each other up for vacations and stuff and they both use the same clinic and embryologists. I have an appointment with him at the end of November. One of his nurses was filling in at my RE's office one weekend when I had to go in for U/S and B/W on this past cycle. I quizzed her on the differences between the two practices and it seems they prefer different stims (repronex vs. menopur) and Mirka's RE lets women stim longer if he thinks it will help. My RE is pretty regimented with his protocols. Not too open minded which I really didn't like today.

I'll hopefully line up a couple others between now and the end of the year but am trying to balance it all with living my life and trying to enjoy the upcoming holidays.

Well you gotta get into DH's face about that Rachael! Hey, when I was recovering in June I had to have DH go buy me the moo-moos, remember? He got them from Walmart. A place he hates to go because everything is made in china. I also had to have him get me low riding undies from there, big, so they wouldn't touch my incisions. Fun times. For some reason I have kept the moo-moos.

Okay, here are the charms that I have back. I have about 20-24 more that are being first fired and will be 2nd fired after that. It might be hard to see. If you see one you really like, let me know. If not, I have more on the way. I am not sure how to do this. If a few of you like a certain color or something, I can get more of the glass, but you will have to wait a little longer...

Jen I love your handy-work! There's not a creative bone in my body. I went with girlfriends to a pumpkin decorating clinic at a gardening center here and ended up with hot glue all over my fingers and some even got in my hair! The pumpkin I decorated is on our front porch. I'm hoping some teenagers will steal it a smash it one night while they're out messing around...

Hee hee Jen, is there a blue and yellow one in there somewhere for me? I'm going to start working on your ribbon soon...I need to re-dig all my stuff out and think about how I want to send it so it doesn't get wrecked or something.

Oh also, if anyone is interested you can check out

I really want two of their baby ornaments, but DH is saying no and I have no idea why. I'd like to hang them on our tree every year and have them sitting some place special for the rest of the year. My DH is such a butt some days but I WILL Get my way! LOL

Jen - They are all gorgeous!! This is so neat. I'm going to request one that has a little blue in it. I would love one that I could wear with jeans since that is my usual fall uniform. Oh, and my DH is absolutely oblivious. I wore this cute new maternity dress when I went to his restaurant last week. Everyone in there was commenting and he didn't even notice or say a word! I did get on his case last night and told him that the occasional "you look really cute" goes a long way with pregnant women!

Ronni - I just remember Mirka hating this one nurse in particular at her RE's. The nurse wasn't very patient with her questioning and doing her own research. I also know she thought it was very odd at the time that she had none to freeze. I remember she had over 20 eggs and then nothing still looking good when it came to freeze time. But, she's PG and her DH is 50 if I remember right. So, definitely worth a try to hear the recommendations. This process relies so heavily on the embryologist that I think trying a new RE/lab if only for that reason is worth it. I agree with you that this last cycle especially your eggs seemed great. I thought it was a wonderful response and great fertilization rate so there must be more to the story.

Ronni-I just realized you are not on my list! Send me your address!!!

And take a picture of that pumpkin...we want to see it

Shawna- none of these pieces have both blue and yellow, or if they do they have lots of colors too. I will check the next batch. With dichroic, it is kinda hard to get a particular color match like that cause the colors change depending on how you look at it.
