I think this hospital and doctor are actually not too bad. I'm very relieved hes not going to torture me with the worry of waiting for it all to happen naturally, I don't even care if this means a c-section. I just want little Reed here safe and sound.

I also forgot to say I received a letter in the mail today saying I got Honours for my diploma, so that was great news. It couldn't have come at a better time as while I was driving back from the OB's I had to pass by one of those horrible slaughter trucks with all the sad little piggy faces and eyes staring back at me through the holes. (they have a slaughterhouse right in downtown Toronto near my DH's work...its so horrible!). Anway, being a hormonal wreck I cried the entire way home thinking about how those poor piggies had no idea they were on their last moments and how cruel the world was...when I saw that letter from school waiting for me.

I'm from farm country too, in NZ you pass those trucks almost hourly! Yet these days I can't handle any of this stuff, I'm like a big crybaby.

Congrats Alana on your honors!

Unfortunately slaughter is a fact of life for those animals. Feed lots kill me! We used to have one (unoperational) on our old farm.

Oh, and while I'm on the topic of crying about animals (is this a typical pregnant woman reaction??) I was wandering around today where DH works waiting to go to the OB's when I walked passed a fur store. A fur store?!! I didn't even know people wore that stuff anymore? I told DH and he said there are 4 more further up the road. Wow, thats crazy, its cold here but not that cold that you need to wear a politically incorrect coat! Next I'll be seeing cat and dog meat served in restaurants!! (I'd better not, I'm too emotionally fragile. )

That would have killed me too. In NZ we had many friends that owned the farms, slaughterhouses etc and I just could never stomach going to their places. It just upset me too much. But farmers do see things differently, I had pals that saw nothing wrong with drowning stray kittens in water. I of course was mortified!!

It is like at our Seed Cleaning plant out in the country. One of our wee kittens is very sick, you can see it because he is thin, and has ***** eyes (he is wild though too) and DH and I are just heart broken. We would liek to catch him and take him to the vet but none of our workers see anything wrong with this sick kitten, nor do any farmers. Nature will take care of him unfortunately. And even if we did catch this kitten, we'd be expecting to have another indoor cat before long I think, plus paying tons of money for sedation for treatment. It's a hard situation, a heart breaking one....I think he's probably not even alive still today.... infact DH has not seen him at all today...

Alana- My cousin was dating this freaky guy who lived on a farm (he was trying to act all high and mighty because he was training to be a pastor but trying to get some from my cousin). Well he lived on a farm with his friends and a farm cat had kittens and they made him shoot the kittens. I cannot handle that I did not want him ever in my house again. He was the biggest a$$ I have ever met. More on that later. I just cant imagine that life even though I know it exists. My kitty means so much to me .

Thanks Josee.

Shawna, sickly stray kittens always break my heart. We have so many of them living in our innercity neighbourhood, mostly because these irresponsible neighbours of ours refuse to spay and neuter their 10 cats (our vet said they are total nightmare cat ladies) so all these cats just keep having kittens that have no homes.

I've called the humane society about 3 times for them to come get them but they never have any room. At least your kitty is in the country, city life is no place for a little lonely kitten.

Devan, I see you down there. How were your pee results?

My sister is seven years younger than me and when she was about one we were taking a bath together (okay my mistake) and she pooped in the tub. I hopped out of the tub and ran around the house naked and screaming.

Slaughter trucks are sad We have chicken coops up at the farm and I avoid them like the plague. Also those cute baby chicks. I can barely eat chicken as it is!

Alana - so glad this OB is serious and taking good care of you. There is no reason to stress little Reed at the end. Did you get all your crib stuff together? I was thinking of you yesterday. There was an adorable boys crib sheeting at Target on a super sale but I couldn't remember if you had bedding already.

Josee - My gym does have swim lessons starting at Aiden's age but I think I need a bikini wax and a couple more pounds off first! At least I can be fully dressed at gymboree. mean ole mom I know. What's this with the computer games? Like a Where's Waldo for adults?

Susan - Did the doggies wake up a bit over there?

Well, dh is babysitting tonight while I have dinner with a girlfriend. I can not wait. It's only the 4th time ever he's given Aiden a bath but I'm sure everyone will survive! DH is off playing with his new chef (the one that cancelled the big dinner) at the new restaurant today seeing if they can harrass anyone to hurry up and finish the place already!

I can't eat chicken either!

We actually have our bedding, I got it on ebay for a great price and now that the due-date has crept up so fast I'm really glad I did! We are pretty much all organized except for the basics like diapers etc, which we will get this weekend. I also want some more sleepers etc just in case hes not as big as he might have been were he to go to 40 weeks so thats on the list too.

Otherwise, I can't wait for the next month and a half to hurry up and go by!
