Okay, a little catch up before I do some work...
Devan - I'm completely the opposite... I'm always cold... always always. And silly me married an eskimo (actually he's Micmac, but still...). We're the only apartment that keeps our AC(s) in all year round because my husband was born in a snow bank. I like 74... it's a good temperature and it's not too much to ask... nooooo... Danny needs it to be 60 or less. Needless to say I wear sweaters all year round. ![]() Susan - I'm jealous and I so bad need a facial. My skin's been acting weird (I wish that I could grow a beard and cover up my spots, not play connect-the-dots... alright... got my Shania fix for the day. teehee.). I hope your doggy doesn't have lupus... that would be really sad. And if you're in California this weekend, I'll take it I won't be seeing you at Oktoberfest at Wachusett? Bummer. Have fun in Cali, though!Shawna - Never been to Hawaii... went to Puerto Rico twice, though. My dad lived there for a while... my stepsister was actually born there. All I've ever heard about it was how obnoxious the price gauging for tourists is. Not okay! But I'm sure it's lovely. Martie - Come on big numbers!! Looking for MORE than 40s... 100s and we could have twins on our hands... tee hee... Brenna - And we're praying for MORE than 330ish, right? Happy Birthday!! Jen - Grow right follies, GROW!!!... Rachael - Really, no morning sickness up to this point? Don't say that too loud, okay? Some women get nasty when they suffer worse than others... especially if they've been up all night puking... haha. So your iron supplements... you got the ones that are easy on your digestive system right? Because high doses of iron make it hard to poop... and where you're preggers, you're probably already finding it hard... (sorry to be talking about your poop and all... )Tia - Transfer tomorrow? Or will it be Thursday... I don't know if you confirmed which day... I'll have to go back and check... Heidi - Oktoberfest this weekend? S'posed to be a polka-jammin' good time! Waddya say? ![]() Ronni - Go get that second and third opinion... no sense in spending the kind of money that you are on procedures that are based on one person's call. Also, I just heard about this "Shared Risk Refund Program" from "IntegraMed." You pay one time and get more than two (not sure how many more) tries at IVF, and if you're unsuccessful you get money back (not all, of course, but some.). And 4 out of 5 of their clients take home a baby. They would, naturally, work double time to get you pregnant because they'd be doing it on their dime... It might be worth looking into. Alana - Want some toast? I could get it there in, like, 13 hours. ![]()

Tia - I've got my
for nothing but good news for you tomorrow too!I just finished watching today's Oprah that I had taped. It was all about infertility - with the two main stories being Martha Stewart's daughter Alexis that has been doing IVF repeatedly for a year now with ICSI and PGD with donor sperm and the other couple tried for 3 years and now did a surrogate IVF in India with a surrogate mom there carrying the embryo. I'm not a huge Oprah fan but it's always nice to see these struggles being talked about. The couple talked a lot about the strains this puts on a marriage and Alexis Stewart talked a lot about how the success stories you hear of in Hollywood of women in their 40's are not realistic and women need to at least start contemplating their options and do some testing earlier. She also brought on stage her whole box of one month of meds and syringes so people could really see what all this takes. I wasn't thrilled with Oprah's attitude - she kept calling the women desperate.

I personally am not a big fan of Oprah either. I find her to be a better than you type of person. I think that if she is going to talk about this subject then she needs to be a little better behaved I mean calling people desperate (well maybe we are but she should not come out and say it on national TV).

oh but I should mention that I have read like everyone of her book club books and I love most of them. Even though they all make me cry or feel really bad about them for like 2 weeks. I mean where does she find every book that could cause depression?

i wrote into the Oprah show about six months ago and suggested that she do a show on IVF and the strains it puts ob marriage and every other relationship in your life. This show was not exactly what I had in mind, though I am sure she was not doing this in response to my email. I think that she needs to research the topic more before she does a show. Makig women and couples appear "desperate" is downplaying the whole situation. I hate that Oprah thinks she is better than everyone!!!!! Gee- I hope she is never "desperate" to have a baby.
Sorry- I know I said I was signing off but DH is still not home yet and it is raining hard... just nervous Good luck woth the PGD report Tia!

It just seemed in the show that Oprah has made her decision not to have children and she seemed very judgemental of anyone that can't accept the decisions that life has given them. I thought the women were very strong and did a great job of explaining their point of views. Alexis Stewart has a daily radio show on Sirius that I have listened to before and she graphically describes what she is going through and how much is sucks (in all sorts of vocabulary). I think she's been through 3 or 4 ET already. She was very well behaved in front of Oprah. My Mom was telling me that she listened to Alexis Stewart's radio show today and lots of listeners were calling in and saying how rude they found Oprah.

Okay so I'm watching the Oprah and yeah, she has mentioned "desperate" about 6 times and it has only been on about 10 mins, if that. Ugh, she kills me sometimes but I still watch her all the time.

Just finished watching today's Oprah too and had to log on to say....SNOB! She came across pretty cold and removed. Don't know how else to describe it. She just seemed like she was narrating some story she's reading instead of really getting engaged with her guests and the process.
I'd never seen or heard of Martha's daughter before but she cracked me up. She seems to have a bit of the "matter of fact"/sarcastic look at it that I've had at times. I'm absolutely amazed by the surrogacy in India. Had no idea that was going on. It's amazing.

Ronni - You would love Alexis' daily talk show. When I was on bedrest after my ET, my Mom brought her Sirius over so I could hear the show. She is extremely frank and uses every four letter word in the book. Not what you would picture for Martha's only child!
Glad I'm not the only one that was rubbed the wrong way by Oprah today. I'm sure she has some sort of message board that people have got to be posting on tonight. Maybe Oprah should donate some of those billions of dollars to help all these desperate women!
