Thanks Martie- now I have the theme for Unsolved Mysteries stuck in my head. Actually the guy, John Walsh, was the father of 6yr old Adam Walsh. Adam was kidnapped and killed not to far from where I lived. We used to go to the mall where he was snatched from. Scary.
Shawna-I think it is a full moon (go look outside). Heidi-despite your team kicking my team's a ss something raw, I wish you only the bestest of luck on your ER tomorrow. I am hoping your eggies and DH's spermies make lots of little boy and girl embabies. Alana-stop reading this and get back to your homework. Rachael-I was almost a Rachael. My dad really wanted to name me that. I really like the name. And I like Rebecca. I had Elizabeth Pearl picked out forever for a little girl (Pearl after my late grandma). I liked this name when I was with my ex and my DH knows it, but still he really likes this name. Each time I pick something different (always Pearl as the middle name) he says that he likes Elizabeth! Go figure! How can things be that easy???

sorry girls- i was feeling a bit overwhelmed last what with the beta AND KICKING THE ROCKIES A S S!!!
So the news is that I talked to the RE and she said that the lab reported the beta at less than 5, not 5. They consider that negative but I am still early. She said taking the Provera won't hurt because it is progesterone and the Lupron actually helps to aid in pregnancy in the first two weeks of injections so it would not be a nightmare if i took the meds and still was preggo. The only thing to llok out for is that Lupron can cause cysts but she said the prgoesterone would help with that. So I will go in for another beta in about six days and I will be POAS everyday until then. I do have some cramping today and I am CD20. N0t sure what to make of the whole thing. Jo- You definitely should not have told us that you were a vet!!!! I am sure you know how women without children are with their pets!!!!! I will have a few questions about the lupus in Berners... Rach and Brenna- So happy to hear your good news!!!!! Shelly- Wow that came up so fast!!! I am wishing you the best of luck today and praying to the egg fairy!! Everyone else, I am off to acupuncture. I willt el her that there is a possibility of pregnancy... Love you guys. Oh and Jen- I feel asleep before the game was up but I know that we kicked your Rockie little butts!!!!!

Jen, he, he, wrong name. I wish I was having my ER today! All I have is a phone consult. 15 whole minutes. I'm going to be blabbering frantically trying to get all my questions, thoughts and fears in the allocated time. Crazy thing is, I made the phone appt so I didn't have to go to their offices again (hour away) no babysitter yadda yadda and it turns out, my FIL asked us to lunch with his new wife (my age ...awkward) at a resturant just down the road. Maybe I turn up at the RE office with my phone and talk to the RE right in front of him?? Okay, silly thought.
Shawna, I think my crazy quick love story beats yours. I arrive in London in '96, met DH because we were staying at the same hostel and met him officially at a smokey pub watching a rugby game. So not me, but when you're trying to meet new friends, well.... We hang out for 9 days and he has to leave to go home and finish school so I organise a trip to Ireland so that I can leave first. I didn't want to be left. My story is that he stalked me via snailmail (we didn't have email addresses yet??) and he finally came back to visit for two months and we travelled Europe together. Then 6 months later I came to the states to go to his sister's wedding (they divorced a year later). I went back to London to finish my two year work visa and then came back to the states to get married. We had to live with my inlaws for a few months until we figured things out and I cried every day because I was so miserable. I couldn't believe I had put myself in that position. Things got better (despite IF and DH's alcoholism), we got our lives figured out, and we'll be married 10 years next June. Anything else you didn't need to know about me? Susan, I'm be thinking of you and you get more info on your beta number etc.... Hey, I hear that the fires in California are most likely arson related.... crazy pyromaniacs.

Shelly - Had to wish you good luck with the ER today!! I hope they are playing some romantic music in the background with the lights dimmed
At least that's what we kept teasing my DH about. Said it was like going to prom night the first time! Can't wait to hear your news.Susan - Keep us updated on the beta. It sounds like you are going to go ahead with the lupron and see how everything looks next week. What an interesting surprise! I hope the news just keeps getting better! Heidi - I love your meeting DH story. I think those tough begginings somehow make us stronger. I know my DH and I didn't have an easy start of it either but it definitely forced us to have some hard conversations right at the beginning and decide if this was the right relationship for us. 10 years is a great milestone to celebrate! Oh, and I think you should just show up at the RE's today. What the hell... Tia - I hope you're drinking chicken soup over there. Jen - Not a great night for your Rockies. Hope you could still sleep with all that scary kidnapping talk yesterday! Nothing too exciting over here today. DH is still sleeping and yep it is almost noon. Aiden is going to give him a worse reality check than me! My home phones randomly died yesterday so I'm waiting on the service technican. The line was working one hour and then no dial tone on any phone the next. Love those days!

ooops Heidi and Shelly. I meant to say good luck to Shelly on her ER. I must have been really tired last night!.
Heidi-I hope you have a good PHONE CONSULT today! Let us know how it goes. Living with your inlaws? You deserve a medal!!! Tia-sorry about your cold. I hope it gets better soon. Susan-bite me. Brenna- again when I tested today there was nothing after 5 minutes, but now there is a faint band. I think I might throw in the towel and just test when AF is due!!! With my digitals, of course! Just wait til your boys come to play in our altitude. Things will change... Go Rockies!!!

Congratulations, Brenna, on your great u/s report. It sounds like you are more worried about the heartrate than your doctor is, so try not to get stressed too much. (not that we aren't all professional worriers here).
Jen, you are now about to receive my iguana diet lecture. No, I won't do that to you since I am sure you have heard it from Maggie's own vet. Put the cat food away! The proteins are so bad for Maggie, really. Does she eat it crunchy? That would be doubly bad for her. If you are soaking the cat food for her to eat it then you are an enabler! Try some Fiber One cereal for her, instead. Iguanas are so nutritionally demanding....good for you for having the patience to take such good care of her. Is she huge? Is she friendly? Alana, I think the 'weight loss' pill you are talking about is Slentrol. It both decreases the appetite and inhibits fat absorption in dogs, and it will inhibit money absorption into your wallet. Very expensive! And truthfully, since we can control what our dogs eat do we really NEED this pill? Portion control, calorie control food, and some exercise should cure most of the weight problems in our dogs. At my clinic I do a lot of client education on weight loss through food adjustment and I have had just as much success with that as I have had with the Slentrol. It is just like with people and weight loss.....we would always rather have a magic pill than put in the hard work (yes, I am totally guilty of this too). Save your money for fertility drugs! I did say that I always have an opinion, didn't I? Seriously, I love what I do so if I get too long winded, just ignore me. Rachael, I do mostly small animals these days but I still do some large animals. I mostly stopped doing the cows and buffalos when I was pregnant with DD. One of Randy Owen's (the lead singer from the country band Alabama) bulls tried to kill me when I was examining it's broken penis, so I decided that was a good time to reduce the risk factor in my job. Secretly I wonder if my IF struggles are some kind of cosmic payback for all the glee I have taken in neutering animals since my ugly divorce from husband #1....

jo, do tell us about this story
One of Randy Owen's (the lead singer from the country band Alabama) bulls tried to kill me when I was examining it's broken penis, so I decided that was a good time to reduce the risk factor in my job. How does something like this happen? Which one is Randy Owens? Is the the Deep voice singer? My parents made us listen to them a lot when I was younger.

Martie, the bull would not reveal to me the manner in which he broke his penis, but trust me when I say I had to examine it very closely to verify it was broken. Since I blush very easily, you can imagine how much the farmers enjoyed this whole procedure. The bull had recently been purchased for $15000 so I was not entirely popular after announcing my diagnosis. (oh my gosh, I just realized I could have had one round of IVF for the same price as that bull cost....no justice in this world). Yes, Randy Owen is the deep voice, big bearded lead singer. I never met him but I saw him on Nashville Star when he judged....weird guy.
I need Facebook help! I created my account (last name Sexton) but now have no idea how to find anyone else. I put some pictures up there since I haven't been able to shrink them enough to get them up here. Someone please poke me!

OMG-too funny- a bull with a broken penis! Did he have to have a cast?
I had taken Maggie to the vet at UC Davis when we lived there because she had jumped off our 2nd floor balcony. They think she had eggs that might have gotten crushed. We had just picked up DH's iguana (male) and Maggie hated him. We spent a lot of money for a enema to make sure she wasn't compacted. Poor Levi (male- passed last Thanksgiving). He had metabolic bone disease, the hots for Maggie, and 2 surgeries from the damage caused to him by Maggie. Yet he still loved to go visit her. He was our handicapped iguana. He broke his back (due to the metabolic bone disease and his tendency to jump to Maggie whenever he would see her). He dragged himself around with his front legs. But he lived the good life and passed at age 13. I have also taken Maggie in to the vet here in CO once. I thought she was a little lethargic the first winter we were here so I brought her in. Turns out iguanas slow down a lot in the cold weather (even though she has proper heating in her cage). She would come down from her cage (we let her roam a lot) and sun herself in our room, then when we got home we would find her in one of our pillows or under the blankets... ANYWAY, when I took Maggie to the vet (the only one in the 'hood that deals with iguanas and used to give Levi weekly enemas-he stopped pooping by himself) they looked in her mouth, felt her up, and basically said she looks great. Now I realize that I can do the same. Maggie is pretty darn healthy, and pretty big. I will attach a recent photo of her trying to kiss me, and get a better full length shot later. Jo-I tried to find you on facebook but there are way too many Jo Sextons on there. I need more to go on.
