My great-grandparents (both on my dad's side) outlived my grandparents, but only by a few years. DH is lucky. He has 3 of his grandparents left. His grandpa on his mom's side passed the about a year after I was with DH. I was very happy I got to meet him at Chirstmas that year. DH's grandparents on his dad's side are both alive, but not doing very well mentally. They are close to 90. I keep trying to get him to write or call. We see them more than his brother, who lives about 30 minutes away (they are in CA)!

Oh yes, I am definately lucky! My dad's parents are both still alive and I have my Gran on my mom's side. We are trying to make a trip to Ontario to see them before it's too late. I see my Gran a fair amount but I should get home and visit with her again soon.

And yesh,I was choked on the whole D ick thing...if my Dh's name was D ick and I came to this forum and couldn't type his proper name I'd be livid. I mean I understand that they want to not have that kind of thing here, but it's jsut so sad for those who use that as their proper name!

Can Stephen Harper be planted in Texas with him? They're practically life partners anyway (hehe, now wouldn't that just make old Dubya blush!), and personally I find his steely blue eyes a little creepy. Hey, maybe we need somewhere to put presidents/prime-ministers when we are sick of them. Like a Guantanamo Bay for leaders or something.

I got stuck in an elevator in Brisbane with John Howard. You are right Alana, what an ugly man. And a stupid one as well for following our idiot leader around like a puppy...

My favorite one is..., "More Trees, Less Bush."

Oh, and if you want to talk about awful carpet, the men that owned our house before us put leopard carpeting in our closet/dressing room. But, they almost earned our forgivness with heated tiles in the master bath...

What do you like to do? Hiking? High country hiking? Well, you gotta go to Estes Park... Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Boulder is a cool town. Chautauqua Park is pretty cool- where the Flatirons are. Any of the ski towns, Vail, Aspen, Beaver Creek, Winter Park, Breckenridge, tons more...all have great hiking and cute little towns. Oh, Glenwood springs has the largest outdoor hot springs! There is a cool hot caves right next to the springs. A beautiful gorge to drive through, hiking, and a cute town. Hmmm. Gotta get DH to take me there. They have a 90 degree hot spring (the large one)- I think that is safe to go in. The 105 degree smaller pool isn't though.

If you go South to Colorado Springs (I guess that is midstate), you get more republican. You got the Air Force academy (or some military branch-sorry I am bad with these). They have the Garden of the Gods which has some really cool rock formations. Pueblo isn't much fun. But down southwest there is Sandunes National Park. Really cool- well really hot on the dunes, but neat nevertheless. There are lots of cute mining towns this side of the Continental Divide. Gotta see the Divide. Leadville is not too far away and it is the highest city in USA- at 10,800 ft. There is an old Molybdenum mine there. You can drive up several 14 'ers, one not too far from me-Mt. Evans? I can never remember names of those things. DH is a great tour guide!

I love the high country. Denver is okay. They have the regular city stuff...night life, sports arenas, aquarium, museums, amusement parks, etc. Boulder/Denver areas have good Mexican food.

Oh, Nederland is a cute town (about 40 minutes from me) at 8,500 ft. That is where they have frozen dead guy days...I'll post the link...too long to explain:
Frozen Dead Guy Days ® - Nederland CO Colorado

When we take people out around here, we always take them to Estes Park and Rocky National Park (so beautiful), Chautauqua, Eldorado Springs (near us-10 mins, climbers paradise, but nice hiking too), Dillon, Red Rocks (this is a cool natural outdoor ampitheatre, but you can hike around there too), Glenwood Springs, Mt. Evans (drive up to 14,000+ ft), Ned, Boulder Falls, Pearl Street Mall (in Boulder). I would really love to go white water rafting....there are some really great (so I am told) places to go but I have never done that.

When would you come out here?

Hey Rachael I was just about to finally go to bed (its almost 1am here but I can't seem to sleep) so I'm glad I got to say hi before I did. I will say I'm going to bed chuckling away to myself about the bushism's. I'm definately going to order myself some stuff from that website.

Otherwise, I'm in work again tomorrow. but I will be on again in the evening.

Jen...good luck with your ultrasound tomorrow. Grow follies grow!!!
