Umm, Atlanta? Heated Tiles??? I think you should send them over to Colorado....
Leopard carpeting?!?!?! hahaha I am not sure that beats our old owners adidas teen bedroom. Or the Motel 6 headboard that was in the master bedroom that they LEFT for us!!! It had 2 swivel 1960s lamps, one on each side. And it covered a beautiful, large window!!! It was attached to the ceiling. DH and a friend spent 5 hours pulling that crap outta the bedroom. It was put together with particle board and biscuits...that is all I heard DH say for months (particle board and biscuits!) and gave them many bruises and lots of swearing when they sawed up all that wood. Oh yeah, and these people were INTERIOR DECORATORS!!! The first floor has beautiful wooden shutters and is elegantly done. Hardwood floors in the kitchen and dining room and 1/2 bath. A 800 sq. ft addition with a fireplace. Dining room with a fireplace-both lovely with nice mantels. The basement looks like 1970s multicolored office carpet with peach walls and ugly valences on the windows. The upstairs? well we painted 2 of the bedrooms. We patched up all the holes from the head board in our room and repainted, so it looks much better. We tiled the master bath and master closet...much better. We redid the closet...they had stupid shelving. The masterbath really needs a reworking. It looks like they spent money on the first floor- oh, yeah, they worked out of their home. The addition was their office...lovely cherry cabinets/desk here. Looks like they ran out of money for the 2nd floor. We are slowly changing things here.

Whew! Thanks for that info Jen. I would probably be coming in late Sept. or early October. I love to hike, though these days with the few extra pounds and increased asthma attacks that may not happen so much. I am in love with the outdoors though. It depends on who I take with me.

Ok, I am trying to sleep here girls but my dogs keep farting in the bedroom. I am going to have to fumigate the place. I think one of them has been eating her own poop again. Ughhh...

I can relate Jen. Our lovely couple painted one room black and put an outlet on the ceiling that my gay friends are still trying to interpret for me! I'm not going there. But, the heated tiles are very spoiling. They have their own thermostat and everything. No more cold toes in the morning in the winter. Only problem now is the bathrooms in hotels on vacation don't seem nearly as luxurious as when we lived in our tiny brownstone in Philly and shared a bath

I got asthma and extra pounds too! Wait, that is not something to be proud of.

Still, you will probably have a bit of a hard time in the high country at first, but the key is to drink lots of water. And there is so much to see/do that you don't have to do crazy hikes. Just walking around town, driving to lots of high sites, then short walks to a vista point. And you are coming in the fall! Aspen trees are beautiful. Oh, wait. You are from New England. Can't beat a northeast fall. But it is still lovely here. And you are always welcome to visit me. We can hyperventilate up a mountain together. I am great on the flat country, but on a hill or above 8000 ft, forgetaboutit!

Doggie farts! Hmmm... maybe I don't want a dog. Especially a poo eating one. I get snoring cats and cats that want 3am attention.

ahh, the old outlet on the ceiling. we have one on the floor in the addition. There are so many wires that lead to nothing in this house that the cable, alarm and telephone guys, when they came to set stuff up, they were confused!!! We have light switches that don't turn anything on or off-they aren't connected to anything. Oh yeah, off the addition, there are 3 doors to exit the house. Why????

I have this unusual cat that has adopted me. Comes to visit at least once a day for food and no one in the neighborhood will claim him. But, he's a very unusual breed and must have a home. Looks like a mini leopard. Ever heard of this type....

yep. They are beautiful cats. I thought they were expensive (like having to get from a breeder)? Wonder why no one has claimed him?

I think they are expensive. He is super friendly so he must have a home but is an outdoor cat. Oh, and he's always starving. Maybe he's just figured out that I feed him straight tuna fish We named him Simba and he will follow you around the house like a little puppy door and then just sit by the door when he is ready to go back out. Oh, and when he's hungry, he comes and scratches my front door to let me know. Never seen a cat with this much personality!

All cats are always starving. Ours cry and cry for food, then when you give it to them, if it is not what they want, they just sniff it, give it the oh, thats crap, stare, then try to steal food from our plates. The grass is always greener. Sam will even eat the collard greens that we feed Maggie!!! Who ever heard of a cat that ate veggies??? But if you give him chicken, no interest...

Alright... and here I am.

#1. I don't name things... okay, that's a lie. I named DHs "baby-maker" when we were first married. (blush) Other than that, it was hard enough trying to name our cats. I've always grown up with cats... but we always just called them "kitty"... naming isn't my forte. We'll be in a pickle when we DO get pregnant. *sigh* I've had other people name my car... an unfortunate name that I don't acknowledge... I have a Focus... 'nuff said.

#2. Though it seems I'm a little outnumbered here, I wear my republican name tag as I walk through the streets of this democratic state. I'm not an extremist and I do believe that there are exceptions to my loyalties to this political party... but here's the way I see it...
I may not agree with everything President Bush has tried to do in the past few years... but bottom line, he is the president of my country. He is doing the hardest job that very few people sign up for (and he's not sleeping with his secretary to cope). No matter what he chooses, he's gonna make people mad (can I say pissed off?) but he still needs to make that decision, regardless. He's not a great public speaker... but then again, neither was Moses...
And maybe it wasn't our business to go poking around in the middle east... but, based on what President Bush was given for information, I believe he made whatever decision he thought was best to protect his people, and need I remind anyone that we live in a system of checks and balances... meaning Bush was not allowed to make this decision on his own... he's just who we get to blame when our plans fail. I think it's pretty well agreed upon now that going into Iraq wasn't the best decision... but hindsight is 20/20. We did nail the lid on Saddam's coffin... and now we are left, picking up the pieces of a tortured country. We can learn from this or we can just be stuck in a perpetual blaming cycle for the rest of our existence. I give the analogy about the little dutch boy that stuck his finger in the dam and saved the town.
First, he saw the leak and knew it would be a problem. He could have kept walking, hoping someone would pick up on the problem but he didn't because he knew that in the event that someone didn't come by, his home, his family, his people would be in danger... so in went the finger. As his finger was in there, pressure mounted around the hole, the hole got bigger and it became harder and harder to plug it. Then he was faced with what Bush is faced with now. Leave it in there and risk his own life until someone bigger and stronger comes along to help (if they ever do)... or pull out and leave the mess behind, only to get worse until the mess comes to find him. It's a sucky situation but for now, Bush can't move until he gets some help, some support, and a little faith that he's doing the best he can.

Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green... whatever... as long as he is the President, I believe he is doing what I cannot do and therefore deserves my respect. You don't have to like or agree with someone to respect them. And, if we feel like our leaders are incapable of leading, we need to be ready to take the reigns... if we are not ready, we must not complain that we don't like the way someone else is driving.

*stepping off soapbox.*
