The worst part was the few seconds it takes to thread the catheter and that was only b/c I have a weird curve in my cervix. Another good thing my RE learned before the transfer.

Yeah, my last IUI the RE had a real hard time getting the catheter in... which was weird because we've never had problems before... but anyways...

I don't know... knowing this and knowing what we're about to go through just gave me a HUGE boost of confidence that this is going to work... it's just going to work. 80)

Hi Martie...still waiting on photos. My first car in high school was called The Baseless Mobile by my friends, but I called it The Big O. It had a large, round steering wheel.

Shelly- glad to hear things are moving ahead for your IVF!!! So exciting! I am that it will be the bestest!!!

I watched that video when someone posted it on the board before. I cried and cried. I could not bring myself to watch it again last night.

Shawna- I am also glad the site is working again!

ok my dh says I have to get off the computer for tonight, I think he is jealous. There was a lot of mention about how much time I spend on this site. When I tell him stories about you ladies he asks "didn't you already tell me about her" he just does not understand. He keeps looking over my shoulder and asking me questions but he really does not what to know. Why does he bother me then.

I get the occasional "you've been on all night, why not talk to me instead?" guilt... I just keep telling him this is cheaper than therapy.

Hi girls! Sorry I've been neglectful, I was stuck at work ALL DAY yesterday and didn't get back until late. Even though I'm just a student temp there for 6 months I sure have a lot to do. In fact, I think they may be relying on me more than they expected...guess thats good though...might mean more work.

I just had to catch up on about three pages. I missed the stuff about the maori haka...that brings back memories I tell you. We actually learnt it at school, plus the poi dancing, as I'm sure you did too Heidi, so I can pull a few of those moves also. Very funny when I do it though...I don't really look the part!

Speaking of kiwi stuff, Heidi I didn't get to suggest stuff for your aunt to bring. How about some chocolate fish? I love those. My Dad sent a package a couple of years ago with kiwi staples in. Marmite, milo, chocolate fish, pinky bars, I think some of those chocolate frogs, Freddo or something? It was great, I really miss all that stuff at the moment.

Susan, that video made me bawl for about an hour. That is the sweetest ever. Do you think the baby at the end is hers? Adopted I'm assuming. I hope so, its heartbreaking to think of all those miscarriages. My one has really affected me, I'm terrified of more. But thats the risk we need to take though isn't it girls.

How are the rest of you doing? I'm having a bit of a guilty day as I will admit to you all now that I had a few glasses of wine on my birthday. I was only 8dpiui, so now I feel really really bad. Do you think if this cycle actually worked (not expected but lets just say) that the wine could have done something? I'm sure its fine, that I'm just being paranoid. Its just I was feeling so low about getting older my DH surprised me with a nice bottle and I just had to have some. Yikes...am I a really bad IF person??!!

Alana- Just to put you a little at ease... my best friend got absolutely smashed at my wedding... champagne, wine, everything. It was her very first month off the pill after being on it for 20 years and she never expected to be pregnant on the first try. Well, she was! Her son is a perfectly fine soon to be 2 year old

Shelly - this is by far cheaper than therapy I'm sure! Plus, I feel like I can relate more to others in the same situation.

Alana,
Don't worry about the wine. It will be fine. the most importtant part is that you enjoyed your birthday.

The woman in the video, Kelly Coffey, she ended up conceiving on her own after one miscarriage. She thought that she had waited too long to get pregnant and that her chances were gone, that's why she wrote the song. She never went through IUI or IVF, as far as she says in her blog anyway. So I am guessing the baby is hers. She now has a 2 year old, conceived naturally.
But you know what? She got the word out there for us IVFers/IUIers, even if she did not personally experience it. It was heartfelt.

I would love to see you and Heidi Haka or poi dancing!!!! Two fair skinned tall blondish skinny girls!!!! Definitely not the Maori type!!!

What are you thinking out there?? Opps... we posted at the same time... do you do the trigger 36 hours before IUI like in IVF?

Yes, I took the trigger two days before IUI. Which was the Sunday 12 days ago. It was 5 units I think (5000?) RE said its gone after 5 days, and the HPT did show it was negative three days ago. I just don't know...its so early!

Early is good!! That means you'll have a good beta number by the time of your test. If it's already registering, then it must be above 25 units, which means by your beta (Tuesday I think) it will be 100!

I am so excited for you. I know you must be in complete disbelief over there. Jen's fertility charms must be watching over you. Awww... I'm going to start tearing up over here
