Kellie Coffey had a miscarriage and then wrote the song and mid-recording, she got pregnant again. You can see the whole story on her personal web site. 80) Just FYI. (10 minutes later...) And yeah... someone already answered your question... ha. Alana... all I can say is congratulations. With a negative and THEN a positive, it looks like it's high enough to be considered a pregnancy and not just remnants. Remember, all it takes is one!

Thanks Shelly, I'm taking it just one day at a time right now. First we'll see if its the trigger shot...then if its not we'll go from there. Small steps is all I'm prepared to take these days...anything else just feels too much.
Oh, and I had a glance at your myspace and its really great. I love that the song is the one on the youtube. I'm going to have to look at the singers website too. I'm always inspired by happy endings, I'm so glad she had success after a miscarriage also. My heart broke for the woman with the 'I can't have children' card. I'm going to put that clip on my desktop so I can play it whenever I need a good cry and reminder that there are plenty of others going through this journey with us. ![]()

Hey Alana, I saw that you did a hpt!! So exciting to have someone even at that stage. I thought you might like to see this. Check out this link and scroll down to frequent questions regarding hcg injections......what dose was your injection?

Thanks Grits! I'm not entirely sure about anything yet. I tested again this morning and its the SAME! Not darker or lighter. I wonder if its possible for HCG to get stuck in someones system. Jen, you're the scientist...is it possible for someones metabolizm to not get rid of a substance completely? I'm still thinking this might be the problem...which makes me wonder what on earth happens on beta day. How will they know whats fake and whats real? Yikes...I think I'm going to not pee on any more sticks and just do the beta in three days. That way we'll hopefully know for sure.

Okay- First, remember there are NO false positivies.
Second, your beta numbers are probably low at this point since you are so early. Beta numbers double every other day. But it is more of an exponential process. For example, if you have a beta of 50 today, on Monday it should be around 100. But Sunday am it could be 55. Maybe Sunday afternoon it might be 65. It might take until Monday morning to get to 100. So, if you are as early as you are, maybe your beta was 20 yesterday... Regardless, the line does not need to darken every day. It will darken eventually. When early and talking low numbers, if you aren't using the first morning pee, or your pee is more dilute than normal, you might not get enough hcg on the stick to have the line darker. It is kind of like a ELISA- you have a fixed amount of antibody on a plate (in this case a stick). If you pass a little antigen (HCG) over it, you get a faint color change. The more you pass over it, the darker the color change may be. I suspect if you pee much later tonight your color change will be darker. BUT, then you have to still not be too dilute with your pee, and have to hold it for awhile.

Alana - I bought a three pack of the first response when I was going through IVF. The first day was almost no line (so so faint) even though the digital said pregnant. The second day a faint line and the third day still a faint line. Absolutely no darker. By then, I had been getting "pregnant" on the digital for 3 days and I gave up on the first response. So, don't feel discourage by the faint line. I even went out and bought the ept + or - version b/c I was so leary and that came back clearly + while the first response was still extremely faint. I completely understand your hesitation till you hear it from the doctors. But, I'm with Jen - a positive is a positive. I can't wait for Tuesday!!

Holy crap! I was on Martha's Vineyard and just got back and logged in to see this!!! Alana, Jen is right there is no such thing as a false positive. You have HCG in your urine for some reason and let's hope that reason is because you are going to be a mum!!!!! I am so excited for you right now! Di you do it again today? I would be peeing on that stick every time I went to the bathroom!

lol...Susan, you are as bad as me!! Thats been the way all day yesterday and today! Even DH has been asking if I'm doing it again. You girls would crack up if you saw us both, eyes squinted, staring at the line-up of tests. The FR test is actually clear to read, its a definate line though faint. The other cheapy ones are more just shadows which you need to look at in certain light. DH is only now appreciating the dilemma that HPT's present to us women. If its a shadow, you need to test a few hours later to confirm what you saw. Then if its still a shadow you need to do it again, then repeat, then repeat until you have convinced yourself its real. I hate to think about how they did this in the golden olden days. They had to kill a rabbit I think, after jabbing it with the pee? or blood of the maybe preggers woman. Poor bunnies had to die for our addictions!!! lol Jen, Rachael, thanks for the info. I'm glad to see it doesn't always darken. My main concern though, as you all know, is this darn trigger. That and the fact that if this is a BFP...I have to face my fear of having another miscarriage. I guess that one is out of my hands mostly. Still, when does the worrying stop??

you have to stop worrying about the trigger. You had half the dose I did and mine was out by 9 days. ALSO, you already had a negative hpt, so it is also more proof. And, even if you were the 1 person in the world that had hcg trigger stay with them longer than others, it has been 12 days!!! NO WAY POSSIBLE THIS IS STILL TRIGGER! Besides, I believe the reason woman see negative hpts earlier than expected after a trigger (some see negatives at 7 or 8 days post trigger...I didn't check that early-only on 9 days after) is because the hcg is in the blood stream more than in the urine. Same reason why it you can get a + beta, but - hpt. SO, stop worrying and go relax! Have a nice drink of apple juice.
How are you feeling? Besides anxious, of course...

I agree with Jen...I believe the HCG trigger is gonzo as well, especially with the neggie test.
Relax and try to enjoy it. I try to look at it this way when I'm pregnant, I will enjoy EVERY minute of it and not let it stress me out because I'm not sure how much of it I will get to enjoy, however there are TONS of women who go on to have healthy pregnancies Alana!! And you, I am sure, will be one of them!! ![]()

Alana - Do you remember when everyone was deliberating how many cycles you had to wait it out after a D&C? I feel as though at least a dozen women wrote in about someone they knew that got pregnant on that first cycle of trying and went on to have wonderful successful pregnancies and now have great little ones. You just have to keep remembering that. And, once you get to 10 weeks, we'll convince your addictive personality to rent a fetal heartrate monitor like I did and you can listen to the baby 20 times a day if you want! It's very reassuring and I never had trouble finding the baby's heartbeat. It's almost a daily routine for me. Wake up, pee, and listen to Aiden. Of course, he has suddenly decided to start moving all around on me so all that movement is reassuring too. The time goes quick Alana and we'll find a way to reassure you week by week. Try not to worry about the trigger anymore and I love that your DH is standing over the bathroom counter comparing POAS with you!
Jen - You are next... are you ready? Are you stockpiling your POAS? Shelly, Ronni & Grits - You're next up! Start watching the sales ![]()

You girls always cheer me up!
Brenna...I had to laugh about running out to get the digital test. I would love to but DH has left with the car so I'm trapped with no more sticks to pee on! I think I'll phone him and see if hes near a pharmacy or something. Jen, okay okay...lol, I'll believe you only because you're a scientist. But I still wouldn't be surprised if I am the one and only woman in the world to have this happen. Statistically speaking I always end up in the lower odds. Hey, I'm part of the 1 in 10 infertile couples, (so are we all I know), but there are 9 out of 10 women out there getting knocked up very easily. I also didn't process the letrozole properly, which over a course of hundreds of patients my RE has only seen happen to one other person. I'm always in the small odds...its a family curse I think. So you can understand my concern. But Shawna, you are also right hun. I should enjoy every minute of just staring at the two lines as with all our histories we just don't know how long they will be with us do we? I guess I will just have to wait and see how the next couple of days go and take it from there. And I agree with you Rachael, we are going to have all you girls joining me in this paranoid time very very soon. Jen...you're up first!! ![]()
