Jen here's one for you, my mom has C-Diff. Ewwww! She is so sick, no idea how she got it. I feel terrible for her. I remember when the kids in the ICU had it, not pretty. Yuck. Poor mommy.

Ewww definitely yuck. Was your mom around a hospital? It is very contagious (fecal-oral route). My main project at work is C. diff, but I work on recombinant proteins (proteins put in plasmids and grown in E. coli, not from the C. difficile bacteria itself. Now, some of you are going? Ewww, E. coli- which is worse, C. diff or E. coli??? Well, I use a inocculous-non infectious, strain of E. coli, like the type that lives peacefully in our digestive tracks.). I hope your mommy gets better soon

If I could, I would live on a farm. I really want a llama or 2. And some chickens and a goat. And a donkey or burro. And I would have a big glass kiln and make glass beads and necklaces and plates and stuff like that all day, after feeding all the animals of course. And we would have deer and bears and the occasional buffalo and moose come and visit.

I am also an avid bird feeder. And squirrel feeder. We feed the entire central CO area here...

She went to visit my step grandma that had just been d/c from the hospital with VRE. I am sure that's where she got it.

Everyone was so busy around here today while I was stuck in my closing But, it happened and it's over with so I'll take what I can get these days!

Ronni - I had no idea your DH was a mortgage broker for sub-prime. I know it must be extremely stressful right now. I was lucky on this one. My borrower had great credit and was putting 20% down... unfortunately she just didn't use any common sense when picking her lender and it caused a lot of last minute issues! I actually worked in the secondary mortgage industry for a while - those are the people that everyone sells their loan packages to. It was stressful when the market went through a downturn. I was lucky and my company didn't lay anyone off but literally told us we would not be packaging any loans for at least 6 months and just to come to work and play on the internet. Very weird time. I think it is amazing what you have done for your grandfather. I wish I was closer in distance to mine! They are a 12 hour drive from me so I only get to see them once or twice a year and miss them. They used to live here but retired to Florida. Still talk to them every Friday night for Shabbat Your grandpa will always remember your kindness.. and his still having an opportunity to flirt away!

Susan - I love the winter comfort foods too. I am a complete pasta addict! When it's hot, who feels like eating? But, your dish for dinner tonight did sound delicious.

Alana - Quite a few of my friends did their morning cup of coffee throughout pregnancy. I know my Mom did! I've switched to a morning cup of hot chocolate with mini marshmellows. It's fun but I do miss that smell of morning coffee. Tomorrow's the big day. You better post early!! We'll be waiting!

Heidi - I really hope AF comes to visit soon. I'm sure everything will feel more real then for the FET. It's just hard right now when your body isn't reacting the way you want and you're on this daily watch for AF.

Grits - I have to say you are doing amazing neighborly acts and you just don't meet people like you anymore. I love that your neighbor is determined to stay there forever. Fiesty older people are the best! Oh, and I ate white cheddar grits tonight with my bbq salmon. Yummy!

Jen - You've got some nasty proteins over there this week! At least DH is cooking you yummy meals to make up for it. I would love to never have that "what's for dinner?" talk again. If I send my DH to grocery shop, he either needs an extremely specific list or else he comes home with all the wrong brands and focuses all his attention on the cookies!

we still have the what's for dinner talks at times. DH is being VERY good to me during this 2ww. I think he is as anxious as I am!!! But sometimes we just go out or it is just mac-n-cheese and peas (like last night). But DH really likes to cook-we have both been working hard and have been exhausted when we get home so he hasn't had much time to cook!

Oh yeah, Heidi- I hope AF comes very soon so you can move on with your FET!!!

VRE-nasty stuff. you are right, your mom probably picked up her C. diff there.

Tomorrow night, $1 scoop at BnR!!! (although I seem to spend ~$4 cause I get 2 scoops and a fancy waffle cone!!!)

I just had a major late night pig out session. I am still hungry (hmm... trying to fill a void?) Jen we don't have Baskin Robbins here, we have Ben and Jerry's. My DH is s huge Bsknrbn fan though... I just ate a double dipped Dove chocolate chip cookie. I won't even mention what else I have been eating tonight. I feel like purging.

well I was promised a rootbeer float tonight and guess what? DH is on the couch sleeping!!! The bum! Doesn't he know that there are starving women around here? My appetite has been ravenous lately. What's up with that! Guess I am going to have to make my own rootbeer float.

My favorite is Carvel ice cream. Coffee flavor. They don't have those here, but we do get Carvel ice cream cakes at the store. Had one for my B-day this year. My all time favorite ice cream store (non-chain) is Jackson's in Fort Lauderdale. If you ever go that way, you MUST go to Jackson's!!! It is a landmark!

Ben and Jerry's is okay. We do have Good Times, which makes frozen custard...yummy! And Paulie's Italian Ice which also makes fabulous gelato.

I put on SuperNanny instead of the baseball game. And hid the remote. Hope DH wakes up soon teeheehee

OMG can't you pull the 'I'm pregnant' excuse and send him out for a full box? In fact, I should get DH up and pull the 'I'm almost pregnant' excuse and send him for some milk. We have brownies a friend brought over. How can one expect to eat brownies w/o milk? Tragic!

Of course you couldn't have done that. Women don't have the gene to leave empty boxes in the fridge/freezer or leave just 1 tiny drop of OJ in a container and put it back in the fridge. I mean, come on! Just drink that last sip!!! I think this gene is called 'empty box/container gene'. They have a 'stupid male' gene that gets turned on occasionally, like when they leave the toilet seat up or forget to flush. How can you forget to flush? What is up with that? They definitely have the 'bad taste in clothes' gene. When I met DH, he had accidently? got ahold of a bottle of peroxide and dyed his hair blonde. And he looked like a skateboard punk. And yet I still married him! But I got rid of the punk shorts, introduced him to khakis, and while I let him keep some of the way too old college tshirts, I got him some respectible polo shirts and button downs. Men!!!

Oh the cookie crumbles are the best on the Carvel cakes!

Goob, that is when her health started down, after a fall two years ago. She broke her back though not her hip. the weird part is they just figured it out a week ago. They kept x-raying her hip because she said it hurt not her back! You sound like a great 'old lady' !! LOL
Susan, I am definitely dreading winter. I can feel a cool breeze here, it is lurking somewhere close.....I love the hats and sweaters, but I dread the cold, dreary, long months. If we had more snow here it would not be so bad, but we do not get much on the ground where I am.

I LOVE coffee too! I had read that too, but I am not sure......I have quit leaded each time anyway. But i can survive with decaf. Survive is all though, do not ask for 'pep'!

Alana, I think I gained weight just reading about your frappacino!!

Sunny, I know exactly how you feel. I was the same way. I hope AF is coming soon. Will RE give you something to bring it on? It is hard to be away from family. Taking care of Ms.Ruth has really made me miss my grandparents back in LA.

JEN, I am coming to eat at your house! Any leftovers?
And i agree with DH.......yeah RIGHT!!!! You have unlimited freebies, why not waste?!
So jen, does your DH do the dishes too?

Rachel, I am glad for you that your closing is done. Boy everyone's dinner around here sounded great while I was eating tacos. I let dd pick tonight.
I did splurge for dessert though. I had Choc. Rasberry cheesecake ice cream. Yum!

Goodnight girls.

Jen - I am with you fullfeldged on the stupid male genes. My DH does the no flush thing too but only if he uses a tissue to blow his nose. He then uses some rationale that it's wasteful to flush and use water. Well, why not just throw the snotty tissue in one of the numerous trash cans every 10 ft. in our house!! Drives me nuts too. I hate that. Oh, and I'm super annoyed b/c I started my day by being at the IRS at 8:30am this morning b/c DH got audited from the year before we were married when we were still filing seperately. Total annoyance. I think we made it through unscathed.

Alana - We're all here waiting...

Don't even get me started with the stupid male gene issue. I mean, how do you leave an upper cabinet door open? And how hard is it to clear out your pockets when you drop your pants by the bed? (G-d forbid you should actaully put them in the hamper.) Does he think the sound of spare change and golf tees in the dryer is soothing?

Alana - Where are you?!? We can't wait to hear the official verdict.
