Evening Ladies.

Way to go Amy! I am not sure I can stick myself either. How did you work up the courage? I can't even bring myself to touch a worm or reptile anymore...how will I bring myself to stick myself with a needle? lol

Hope you're sleeping tightly Alana!

Jen- What was their reasoning for the second HCG shot? I was reading my prescription tag thing and it said one before IUI and then another dose 5 days after IUI for me. Is that the same as what you're doing? Did they tell you what the reasoning is? (I'm sure they did and you were smart enough to ask! LOL. I didn't even know this until I picked up my prescription lol)

of course I am Amy and congrats on giving yourself the shot. I would have dragged dh off the court for a 2 minute break

Shawna-I didn't have a trigger for ovulation shot. I started doing the luteal hcg shots the day after my 2nd IUI, then 3 days later, then another 3 days later. The luteal hcg is supposed to trick your body into thinking it is pg and produce its own progesterone (it definitely worked there!). You are getting a trigger and a booster luteal hcg shot for the same reason. I O'ed on my own so didn't need the trigger, but you will still have hcg in your system after IUI until your booster. You probably have different doses than I did. I did 1000u for each shot. You should ask your RE if you can do a P4 test 7dpo...shows that you ovulated and if your levels are high enough to sustain a pg.

Jen-Having you knowledgable girls around are the best!! I was definately thinking I wanted the progesterone testing to be sure that my miscarriages aren't hormonally related so I was going to ask. Now I definately won't forget. I really need to find out if this doc I'm seeing is an RE or just the head OB GYN guy who dabbles in IUI! LOL

Jen, do you think it's possible that with such a high dose of synthetic HCG in your system that you could start producing your own pregnancy hormone in that time frame and never actually SEE a negative?? Well, that'd be my guess.

Wow, Tia! Guess what?! You're paper pregnant! I saw this great t-shirt online that said "We're paper pregnant!" and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what that meant... then it dawned on me... that's what it's called when you get your paperwork in to adopt... and of course all the waiting afterwards... And, yeah, you and DH could quite possibly be parents by Christmas! SO EXCITING!!!

Amy - At first I was doing all of my shots myself... but then I let go of the reigns to DH because I was literally standing there for ten minutes psyching myself out going, "One, two, three...." and starting in towards my tummy and freezing just before it touched my skin... ugh. It was torture. But the Lupron needles were yucky... they weren't nearly as sharp as the Gonal-F or even the PIO for that matter... and every couple of days, I would bounce off my stomach or I'd get it only half way in and have to push it the rest of the way... ew. So, I guess my point is, congratulations on being a brave soldier! I would get frustrated with the needles so often and then Danny would remind me why I'm doing it and it was like a surge of adrenaline and I just did it without thinking. Remember why you're doing it, every time... picture those perfect little fingers and toes. Go, Amy, Go, Amy, Go, Amy!!!

Okay, so I just had a baby dream... once again I dreamed it was a girl... but I dreamed that every time I went to go do something for the baby, my mom or someone else in the family had already done it... like feeding or changing or dressing or playing, etc... and I ended up crying in my dream because my mom commented on how terrible of a mother I am because i don't take care of my baby... ugh. And I remember thinking in my dream, wasn't I supposed to be more connected with my own child? And so it begins...

I loved your grocery list last night. I have not really had craving for any sugary cereal, but that seems to be on every pregnant women's list! Maybe I gotta get with it! My girlfriend ate Fruity Pebbles during her preg.
I eat Puffins. Whole Foods brand high fiber brown rice puffed cereal. Cinnamon flavor. There are really good and god for you 'cause the fiber gets things going. KWIM?

DH just "flash seared" eggs. Yep- his terminology for burning eggs to cook in one minute or less. It stinks and makes me want to hurl...
I'm hungry.

Do you still have to eat immediately upon waking? I feel gross right now, but the smell of DH's nasty eggs are much worse.

Yeah, I just had applejacks again... I think I need to start taking those prenatal vitamins again... because seriously, this whole hormones thing has thrown my appetite out of whack and I can't eat the stuff I was eating before... but I seriously need to cut out the carbs... I eat pasta every single day.

Not immediately... but definitely within 20 minutes... otherwise I just get too hungry which makes my stomach hurt... but the queasies have definitely gotten easier to take and fewer in frequency... for some people, they're nauseous throughout their whole pregnancy... for others, it's just a hunger thing...

Which prenatals are you on? I just use CVS brand. I have been working on the same bottle for two years. I am waiting to run out so I can try a diff brand.
I love carbs. Bagels and pasta.

Duet DHA... but it's wicked expensive... I'm thinking to go for something a little less pricey... but the stuff is prescription strength... and insurance doesn't cover it...
