Jen, have you PIAC yet??? I am very excited to hear your result. Post as soon as you do okay hun?!!

As for my BFP, I'm still not feeling very sure about it. I have absolutely NO symptoms (last time my BB's were killing me) and I have none of the heavy, bloating feeling etc that I also had. I also think I have been spotting slightly, so I may call the clinic on Tuesday (long weekend argh!) and get them to do more blood tests. No ultrasound though. If this is not viable I absolutely refuse to see it! I wanted to ask you girls a question, if this is a chemical, what do progesterone suppositories do? Will they delay bleeding etc so I wouldn't know until alot later that it was?? Or would I still bleed even while taking them?

Anyway, sorry to be a downer. I'm not giving up on this pregnancy yet, and I'm very greatful for this chance for another BFP. However I'm also very detached emotionally from it, not by choice, I just can't seem to connect. But I guess if things were to go wrong I can only assume it might not upset me as much as last time. I think I'll be sad, but more frustrated than anything. I guess the first miscarriage is always the worst. It takes away your 'pregnancy virginity' as I saw someone write once. My virginity is definately gone...can't you tell?!!

Anyway, enough gloomy ramblings. I want to know how you are all doing. Anything exciting over the weekend happening??

Jen.... good luck! Keep us posted!

Alana... I've been thinking about you sweetie. I know that feeling. I too had m/c'd back in 2001. It was my first pregnancy and it was really hard because it was at 10 weeks. Then that was followed by a chemical pregnancy in 2005. I kinda know what you mean about losing that "pregnancy virginity". I went for beta this morning and am still waiting for "the call". Some of my symptoms disappeared, although not all, and I have a couple of new ones but still don't want to even make the judgement call. AF is due tomorrow although today is 14dpIUI and the day they scheduled my beta. I have no sign of AF yet and normally do by now so we'll see. I think I'm just done and need to just let it all be until I get this phone call. Try to stay positive and in the moment. Believe me I know it's so much easier to say than do but I always found that to be good advice for so many situations.

Alana - I think your beta is too high to be a chemical pregnancy. I'm not the expert here though. I'm not sure where the transition point is but I thought a chemical pregnancy was where your beta was very low meaning the pregnancy may have just barely implanted and then stopped dividing. I know how hard it must be right now. I know you don't want an u/s so as not to get attached but how about the doctors at least being able to make sure the embryo is in the right place? At least another beta this week to see the numbers increasing. Spotting early on is so common. Plus, do you remember how we all hit that 6 week mark and suddenly all of our symptoms were gone? Somehow once the pregnancy started to take all that bloating from the fertility drugs started to disappate. I think the progesterone would delay AF but not keep her at bay if it isn't viable. Try to think at least a few good thoughts in there and be sure to eat good and take care of yourself. Otherwise, you'll just worry the whole 2nd trimester about all those good things you didn't make yourself do at the beginning. Oh, and I never had m/s and didn't have sore bb's after the 6 wk marker. Just swollen bb's

Shawna - Great news about all of your test results. You sound so relieved.

Grits & Ronni - How's the stabbing coming along girls?

Jen - Any POAS temptation over there yet?

Susan - Is the rooster still visiting? Maybe a new parrot buddy?

I ran around a bunch yesterday so I'm trying to take it easy today. Just met a girlfriend for breakfast who is in town visiting for the long weekend. She has a two year old wild man son. He's been that way since day 1. I literally came home and lectured DH about disciplining our son at an early age

Hope everyone is having fun out there... We're headed to the family farm tomorrow for a cookout and am dragging Havanajims and her DH with. I'll take some more pics and post them for everyone to see our quickly expanding tummies!

Alana- I'd have to agree with the person who said that they think your beta is too high for a chemical. At 5 weeks I had a beta of 34...yes that low. Officially, how many weeks are you Sweetie? With the high beta that you have I'd think you're past the cellular stage but I could very well be wrong. Try to relax and enjoy as much as possible! Maybe an u/s would actually put your mind at ease? Just hang in there, enjoy every minute...big !!

Rachel- Thanks Hun! I am incrediably relieved. My husband looked at me last night and said "Ya know what that means?!" And I said no. He says "Maybe we don't need IVF with ICSI, we've defied the odds twice in one year when doctors told us IVF would be the only way! We've been PG twice and now with the metformin, they're goign to stick!" So as soon as I hear from the clinic (I'm with you on long weekends Alana, BOO!!) next week sometime, I will ask what fert. drugs I will be able to do other then clomid because my year of clomid is up and I'm not sure personally and emotionally I could do the same drug that almost made me bleed to death number one, and had two miscarriages on number two.
Anyways, enjoy your trip to the farm!! I'm envious...wishing that my inlaws weren't such butts...I'd love to go hang out on the farm again, as I'm sure my DH would too. LOL

Jen- PIAC/POAS news yet????

Hope everyone is doing fantastic.

Thanks Rachel! I am excited to be starting again. I did my first Lupron injection last night. It was a little funny because I just went in there and did my 'pre shot prep' and realized with needle in hand, I had no idea where I was supposed to stick it!! I did not take Lupron last go round. So I figured subcutaneous, my belly would work. I hope it was a good spot!
I am glad your cold is going away. Have fun on your cookout. I am jealous you have gotten to make buddies.

Shawna, I am glad there are no issues. That must be a relief. Positive thoughts.......

Okay Jen, piac already!!!

Alana, Think positive happy thoughts. I do not have the answers you are looking for, but know that we are here and I am praying for you. And you have a bfp!! Think happy!!

Mykalina, I hope you get your BFP. Please let us know.

I sent my in-laws home this morning. As great as they can be, it is nice to have my home to just us again.
well today is a quiet day. Did church and brunch already, now I will rest for a bit before going to see Ms. Ruth (who I have not seen in 3 days!! I am feeling lots of guilt!). And then off to the demolition derby at the county fair! Fun!

Jen I see you down there -- did you PIAC?! How are your bbs and taco cravings?

Did my first stims for this cycle last night pretty much without issue. Similar to Grits - I was all ready and feeling like a pro when I suddenly realized I had no idea how much saline to mix with my 3 vials of Repronex. Thanks to my handy dandy notes from my last IVF I was able to proceed. Did the shots in my belly but will definitely switch to the thigh tonight. My tummy is so tender - I just don't have much to pinch in that area. But, before you all curse me - my thighs have AMPLE chunks of skin to gather!

Alana - Your hCG is way higher than mine ever got with my chemical pregnancy. I think they consider it chemical if it doesn't double properly which yours already has. I can understand your apprehension...hang in there. We're pulling for you!

Okay, okay. I did PIAC. No second line yet . I had mild spotting on Friday (pink/brown just on wiping), not much of anything yesterday, and a little more pink/brown today. I am not sure what is going on. I am still early so I won't give up hope yet. I did call my RE on Friday and told her about the spotting, and since I wasn't sure if it was AF or not I wanted to find out what was next cause if I gotta go it again, hit me big time with drugs and the IUI... So if I do get AF, plan is to go in for a Day 5 u/s, then probably clomid. Although I did pull a flyer for a study for follicle stimulant . I seem to fit the criteria, so if I get AF, I will call and ask about it- hey, free IJ drugs- and it is only 1 shot.
Don't give up on me yet, but I am a like to have a new plan type of person. I don't have the typical AF cramps, although I did have a few twinges (but usually AF cramps last longer for me). No real blood, so who knows. I still got everything . Regardless, I got you girls either way so I am truly doing okay

Alana- I promise that you do not have a chemical pg. Rachael is right, your numbers are way to high. I chemical pg numbers are very low, usually don't get above 10-50. Not everyone gets symptoms and lots of people spot. You are okay. As long as it doesn't turn into full on bleeding, spotting is very common. If I gotta go there and hold your hand, I will...!!!

Shawna for the blood work outcome! Sounds like DH might be willing to give it another go???

Brenna and Ronni- yay you are starting your shots!!!

Rachael- I wanna go to the farm. Any llamas? I love llamas!

Hey Susan and Heidi... how are you holding up?

Mykalina-is that your real name? I really like it. How did your beta go?

Hi girls,
Sorry I have been away for a bit... Needed some time to reflect. Been reading 'A Few Good Eggs' and I think I just realized that I may not be ready to jump back into this IVF thing yet. I need some more time and I think a bit more of an attachment to life.

I just saw a great movie though. Julie Deply's 2 Days in Paris. It's only at select theaters. What a great film.
I don't know if any of you saw her other movies Before Sunset and After Sunrise(or Sunset??? ) ANyway she produced this one and it's fabulous. I am a total movie buff.

Jenn it's way to early to piac. What's the accuracy of those? Go get one digital test!!! JEN, JEN,JEN!!!!
Alana-positive thoughts only sweetie. It's not a chemical. Want to hear a chemical? Mine. My beta was 7. My m/c beta was 68.
You are good.

Gritts started your meds! That's great. Watch out for the Lupron headaches. They are a killer.

rachel- I thinnk the rooster crowed itself to death, or whatever it was...

Shawna, Shelly, Ronnie, Makylina(I spelled it wrong!!!!, I know it!!!)
How are you girls doing?

Grits - so funny about not remembering where to do the Lupron! I could completely see myself doing that. I did mine in my tummy and didn't have any issues. I had more grits this morning. Yummy! Hope you don't mind that I'm attached to your cute screen name

Ronni - I think you have a good plan with alternating sites. I can't wait to see all the progress this week!

Jen - No llamas at our farm. There are some at a farm down the street from us. They are really cute. I'll take a picture of my pup at the farm tomorrow acting all crazy and splashing in the lake. Don't worry about the second line. We're all just teasing you over here. I wonder if it's the same trial my clinic was doing.... a new form of injectibles that is only given once but theoritically is designed to still release the same amount to your body daily.

Susan - Funny about the rooster being gone. Bizarre. Stay optomistic over there. I know I can get very involved in books too.

Gotto to go watch the season finale of Entourage!

Michelle- again I am sorry. IF is just so hard!

Ronni-I will trade you some ample stomach for your ample thighs.

Okay, is it Rachael or Rachel- I keep seeing it both ways... anyway, I can't wait to see the pictures of the farm and your pup. And it does sound like the same protocol. It is called: Sustained Follicle Stimulant Study.

Well, yesterday outside the grocery store there was this dude selling oil and acrylic paintings for a decent price. I love original art. I don't care if it is a replica of something made before, I just am not a fan of prints and love a canvas with paint on it! Anyway, we got 3 paintings...2 acrylic for the dining room, and an oil for the living room. Since the living room (stereo room) doesn't have any art in it we temporarly put it above the stereo- it is a huge wall and it needs something else, but we wanted to be able to look at something while listening to the stereo. Eventually, we will get something for that space and put the painting behind the couch. I am going to post the pictures... tell me what you think of the picture hanging above the fireplace/mantle... DH likes it there, but I don't know- it looks too crowded to me. Oh, ignore the glass plates on the mantle. We had another picure there (a Guy Buffet print) with candle sticks and stuff on the mantle, but that didn't go so I put the glass plates (I made them and DH wants to display them...but I think I will make something specifically to go there if glass should go there, these guys don't). Anyway, tell me what you think. Oh yeah, the chandelier is terrible, but we haven't had time to figure out what to replace it with...it came with the house.

Okay- and yes, while I do like certain styles, I have NO idea how to put together a room (and personally while DH thinks he does, I am not sure I like what he does...I just let him do it so things get put on walls instead of leaning against them!!!)
