my address is on our FB contact post...you can send the left over chocolate pretzels here

I just checked to see if I could find your Autobiography on FB but couldn't...

I am going to bed too. Walt is blasting MY new Howard Jones CD and for some reason it is irritating me...not HoJo, but the fact that he is listening to MY CD...grrrrrrr... Not like I go and listen to his whiny a s s vag rock. He is getting into some weird stuff. Oh, now he is playing Essex Green...where does he find these groups?

I was having such a sad day yesterday but reading back on your posts has me smiling again. I just LOVE you girls so much....what would I do without you?!!

Anyway, MIL phoned back once DH got home and they were both crying and discussing what to do. Of course MIL is more worried about us then herself...shes scared DH will lose his job etc if we come see her for a week. I mean, if they fire him for that I don't want him working for such a rotten company in the first place! I think its illegal in Canada to fire someone for family illness anyway...but does MIL listen?

The worst thing though was when she asked DH if we were pregnant yet. She knows all about the miscarriages (not the latest though as we didn't want to upset her) but the most upsetting thing was when she sounded really really hopeful and said 'It will keep me going if you are'. I burst into tears at that. I feel like such a failure...like I'm letting her down not being able to carry a pregnancy. Now I have no idea what to do. What if we don't have a sticky one soon and she gets very sick...or worse doesn't recover?? How can I live with that??

Have any of you girls ever had family say this to you? I know shes not being spiteful, shes just really excited about having a grandchild and I guess now she thinks times running out. But...I'm feeling so bad about it all right now, and we can't TTC any time soon until further tests are done and IVF/PGD is started up. Ugh...this is so depressing! (sorry to be a downer...I guess I'm the resident sad-sack at the moment )

Oh and Jen, thanks for the encouraging cancer story hun, your mother sounds like a strong wonderful person just like her daughter. I unfortunately lost my mother many years ago to cancer when I was still a teenager (yep, little pimply teenage Diva...not a pretty sight! lol) and I've also had family friends get cancer and go on to survive. I know it can go both ways with this horrible disease...I do think these days though survival rates are getting better. I'm hoping thats the case for MIL.

Oh, sweetie... that's really hard. You know what i would tell her? I would tell her I was going to stop trying until she got better. No grandkids until she fights through this... and that THAT is why she should fight... I don't know what I would do without my mom through all of this... even though she drives me crazy half the time... And I know that where your DH and his mom are so close, he really needs her, too, through this. I have so much faith in the power of prayer, Alana... and now is as good a time as any to start using it. I love you so much, sweets, and I hate to see your family hurting like this. My father passed away when I was 17 and I know I wouldn't wish that kind of hurt on anybody. The most important thing right now is to be with each other during this time... if that costs your husband his job, so be it... he will never regret being with his mother during this time... but he would always regret working. We're praying for you, honey...

Shelly hun. You are so right...I'm going to say these exact words to MIL when she next brings up her job worries. I was the same age as you were when my mother died so I'm with you on this one. Parents won't always be here but jobs will. Thanks for this...and yes...please pray for us. I'm going to start trying myself. Its been a while but I'm sure I can remember how.

Alana-
I am sorry about MIL. My mom had breast cancer when she was 39. I was about 15. It was so scary. She is now 20 years cancer free! And healthy as ever with a new husband and a new set of boobs!
I don't know what I would do without my mom.
Tell your MIL you love her and then say exactly what Shelly said. (Shelly-Good on ya mate).
It's treatable and she needs something to look forward too, so telling her that the babies will have to wait until she's better will give her hope! AND- it may just give you your little miracle.

Tia- Willy likes to pierce ears??? HEHEHE.
Can't wait to read your autobiog. Well, if Jen edited it Lord knows what she did. She probably put some Howard Jones lyrics and songs about Outback cheese fries in there!

I really hope she didn't take that stuff out in her final draft (I haven't read the final yet) I mean, it is so fitting: "I need an Everlasting Love..." "Like to get to know you well" "Revolution of the Heart" "Don't try to live your Life in One Day". Perfect. And what potential adoption agency/birth mother wouldn't want to let a wonderful couple adopt their child if they pledge to take them to Outback regularly for cheese fries????

Alana- I hope by my sharing this story with you, it doesn't further upset you but I just feel the need to share this. My auntie was diagnosed with a rare and very fast moving cancer in the spring of 2003. Both her sons were in their thirties, neither were married but one was dating and the other was just starting a relationship. My auntie wanted nothing more then to be a grandma, she would ask and ask my cousins when. Then when she was diagnosed, she continued to ask. Unfortunately we all knew that she was on borrowed time. In the November of 2003, she passed away, still without grandkids and her sons were still not married. My cousin, the youngest of her two boys, got married in 2005 and had a son in 2006. (actually on the same day I miscarried our first baby but besides the point) He is the most beautiful baby and I know, in my heart, that my Auntie is thrilled and loves that child from where she is. Where I'm going with this, is that you can't feel guilty over what you can't control, you have to love and love your MIL as much as you can, and pray and hope for the best, but not feel guilty for something that is out of everyone's control. The power of positive thinking is a good one too. Try to remain positive and be there for her, tell her that you're doing the best you can for a child, but that you need her to concentrate on being well and getting well and being here for the grandkids that are going to come.

Jen-That's halarious. You crack me up!

Hi to everyone!

Urg, I have the worst luck I swear. Yesterday, I was having major menstrual cramps and figured a hot bath would help tons! Which it would have, if the shower head had not fell onto my head! I was sure that someone had broken into the house and conked me over the head while I was in the bathtub, it was such a shock. I sat there really dazed for quite a while, and then realized it was the shower head. (One of those big massaging ones!) DH came home and checked me for a concussion but all I got out of it was a big bump (Still there) and a terriable head ache. (Still there!) I tell ya, only me! Only me!

Hi Everyone!! I miss all of you girls Unfortunately, your adorable cyber nephew is still in this eat-every-2-hours phase (even though he's four weeks now) and never let Mom sleep phase. Counting down the days till the 3 month marker when he should be sleeping for 4 hour stretches and life can begin to resume!

Anyway, I'm going to make an attempt to catch up on my days worth of gossip during some (hopeful) downtime today. Just wanted to let you know that I'm alive and thinking of all of you!! The thank you notes can wait another day... I've got to hear what's been going on!
