Sunny I know what you mean........it is so quiet. I had so much to say before, and lately I am in such a 'blah' state. I am waiting for AF too............just waiting........... I feel like I have had PMS for months now!!
So where are the pictures from last TUE? I hope somebody got at least one with everyone! ![]() I am sitting here drinking my coffee trying to find the motivation to get up and go workout. It is just not in me anymore. I am not motivated to do anything lately. But I keep forcing myself. I have only managed two days of exercise so far this week, not good. Yesterday I cleaned out my laundry room to avoid it! How desperate is that! How long did everyone wait to have sex after m/c? I did not make it the two weeks. My DH is so needy in that dept. I go in next week for my check. I was supposed to go this week, but she went out of town. I got my bill for the Sept. FET yesterday. I am not sure if I should do it natural or synthetic (with hormones)......? Any thoughts anyone? Well I guess I will go exercise..... ![]()

Sunny, Grits....it is quiet isn't it? I think its all this AF waiting! I started provera two days ago as my RE wants to get my cycles back on track as currently there is absolutely no sign of either ovulation OR AF happening anytime soon. I think without provera I'd be looking at next year before we could try again. According to the nurse I take it for 10 days and after that she can arrive anywhere from 3 - 14 days. My guess is the latter....things are definately slow in that department right now. What I have been concerned about is Ashermans syndrome. One of the symptoms of that (scarring after D&C) is missing menstruation. What are your thoughts on it?
Grits...I have only dared to BD once since the D&C. I am just not in the mood at all. Luckily as my DH gets older he has a much lower sex-drive so hes fine with the gaps. Besides, I keep telling him he needs to build up his reserves so they can swim faster when we start treatment! Not sure if it works, however we tried that last time and I got a BFP so maybe theres some truth to it. HIs swimmers are slumpy at the best of times so anything that helps we are going to try. Otherwise, where are these pics? Wheres Jencat? Maybe we should bump up the other thread so she sees it when she is online. That might help.

Alana, I'm terrified of Asherman's. Shudder to think, we've been through enough! I was told the AF would take 6-8 weeks from the D&C and after another week, I'll start worrying I guess.
Hi Grits. I hope you are feeling more like yourself before long. Although, you can't help but be a little different after our kind of experiences. When people (inlaws) ask me if I'm okay lately, (and not many know about what happened), I don't know what to say. I lie and say I'm fine. I really want to say, "listen, it takes us years to conceive and last time we did, I lost the pregnancy, okay, sorry about the solemn face?" Lucky people can't read my mind, although hubby tells me that my face tells it all usually. Too much scouling I guess. I'll have to repeat to myself, happy face, happy face. Jen and her DH got the only pics from our meet-up unfortunately. I think they're probably just enjoying their vaca to Cape Cod? Oh and Grits, about your question - we still haven't. I think we've forgotten how and I don't know how to explain it, but it still feel like a no-go zone in there.

Ladies I am with you on the sex thing. I think my DH has written me off. We don't dare touch each other. Emotionally IF does a number on your sex drive...
We will all get our game back again. We just need to heal both emotionally and physically. Where the heck are those pics. I am going to the Cape tomorrow, I will try to find Jencat!!!!! |

I feel the same way as you and Susan, in fact the one time we did BD I barely registered it as a fun experience. I just don't even like thinking about 'down there' anymore. It just seems like someone is always poking and prodding there, or I'm bleeding (tmi but its true) or I'm waiting on a D&C/AF/Ultrasound. No wonder sex is out....we've all been prodded too much already!! Ugh....we've all lost our mojo!!Susan, how funny would it be if you and Jencat bumped into each other at Cape Cod. Wow...that really would be a meeting of kindred spirits as Shelly called it. I suggest you just look out for all red haired girls and eventually you will see her. Good luck! Oh, and by the way, getting back to this Ashermans thing, how do they actually test if you have that? Also, I was reading up about baby aspirin today as I was curious about whether to start taking it now...have any of you used it to prevent miscarriages before?

Alana,
On the baby asprin thing... One of my Re's that I did IUIs with put me on it and the one that I see now say he thinks it does more harm than good. So I guess it could go either way. There have been some studies that have shown a greater blood flow to the uterus with a daily dose. Other studies show it's inconclusive and could cause a m/c... Who knows. I think it's all trial and error unfortunately for us... I will look for some flaming red hair and see if it is Jencat. ANyone know where in the Cape she was going? I think I will be near Hyannis. Going to see friends that live there. Anyone have any good tips on how to get this dreaded ten pounds off? I cannot seem to do anything that works. I started sculling(rowing, crew) and I walk at least four times a week, plus I stretch and lift very light weights in the morning. ow I am not going to tell you that my diet is all that great, but i am not eating anymore than I was before, maybe even less... Help! |

You know what, it was when I found out I was intolerant of gluten that I lost the 10 pounds I wanted to get rid off. Before that I was always a stick insect until oneday I just started getting bigger, and it turns out it was what I was eating. I would seriously recommend seeing a dietician and getting tests done to see if any foods are causing you a problem. I know quite a few people who lost wait that way after nothing else worked. There are alot of foods out there that our bodies aren't that great at processing so consequently we stay big no matter how much we starve or exercise. I'm an example...gluten is wheat, oats, barley and rye. All supposedly healthy things! Anyway, thats about where my weight loss advice ends.
![]() Meanwhile, I am suffering a bit of the blues today, a friend from the design school I go to posted some pics on Facebook of her adorable 1 year old twins. It felt like a bit of a kick in the teeth as we were both older students together, (she older than me) yet I remember her telling me she got pregnant after only a few goes with TWINS...on a natural cycle! So I always feel a bit depressed when I see how much bigger they've got. (she has no idea about this...we're not that close so I'm not comfortable mentioning it). Anyway, for the time being I just wish all people with cute fat babies would just disappear for a few days...at least until I can feel more positive again.

Okay, I am back at home...sorry Susan-we left today (from Orleans-stayed in a great B&B if you ever need a recommendation!) and we almost missed our plane.
Gotta make this short- DH's car's battery died and we gotta go fix that. Heidi- yep, I got the pictures. I will download them to the computer later and post. Even Bob came out well in that first photo (what a dufus!). I will also email them to you! Oh, and Shelly- yes, DH and I both went ALL the way into the ocean. DH said it was warmer than the Pacific (hah!). I think I had a look of shock on my face for the first 10-30 minutes...maybe more. BTW, my skin color now resembles my hair. Oh, I am so sorry I missed you Susan!!! More later-with photos!

Hi Ladies - I was checking in to see the reunion pics but I see JenCat is still enjoying her vacation. I'm with all of you on the bd'ing. Both the perinatologist and my OB told me absolutely no bd'ing until either my baby and it's placenta decide to move higher up in my uterus or I give birth. Otherwise, I'm looking at full blown placenta previa right now and whatever host of complications come with it. DH's eyes got huge at that point. So, long 6 months ahead for DH and I. Holding out so far but not quite the news I had expected at this stage.
As far as the baby aspirin, my RE had me start with my IVF cycle. He then discontinued it at 6 weeks and I miscarried one of the babies. When I asked him about it later, he said the baby aspirin helps to thin the blood to make sure the baby gets enough resources while it's trying to implant. I also asked him why he didn't keep me on it. He said once the baby has implanted he only keeps patients with a history of miscarriage on the aspirin and I didn't have one. So, I think it might have some benefits. I hope everyone is hanging in there. Sounds like everyone is eagerly awaiting our friend AF! JenCat and I must have posted at the same time. I'll check back for photos!

Rachael - how funny, I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 14 weeks. They say it's common in women who have gone through IVF. I didn't know that. Take it easy girl. If you feel anything pain discomfort let your dr. know. Did they tell you moderate activity or bedrest?

Ew... no BDing here either... augh, what is wrong with me? I'm here at the computer at 10:30 at night, DH is in bed playing a DS game... something's not right. I don't know... I'm finding it hard to talk to him lately... nevermind be intimate with him. He's perfectly sweet and perfectly supportive... it's just... there's distance. He's my best friend in the world but I feel like he's in a different place than I am. It's most likely all me... but I'm just trying to keep my head on straight and with that taking so much effort lately, sex is seriously the last thing on my mind. Bah.
I wish I could get him to be all gushy about his feelings regarding IF and what it's doing to him... it always feels like it's just me moping and weeping about it like some hormonal monster that cannot be stopped... And another thing... anyone else having serious... well... um... yeast-y problems? Mine usually go away on their own but this one is hanging on. Yeah, yeah, go see the Dr... but my PCP's staff is so incompetent and rude... and she rarely ever sees me herself but sends in her NP to do her dirty work. I just wish I could call and say, "Yep, it's a yeast infection. Can you just call in a prescription?" But nooooo, they have to POKE and PROD down there just to come up and say, "Yep, it's a yeast infection. I'll call in a prescription." ![]()

Thanks for the advice Auburn Girl. Yes to all of the above. The doctors have told me to try to modify my activities, no lifting anything over 5lbs., no straining, no exercise of any kind (even walking the dog), and the no bd'ing. I've been trying my best. Unfortunately, I've been on and off bed rest since week 8 due to my spotting. So, work and life are starting to catch up with me. But, when I'm home, my feet are always up and I try to work from home as much as I can. But, as a realtor, I've got to do some running around to show houses.
I am so sorry to hear everything going on with you. I hope we get a chance to meet face-to-face in Atlanta next week. Be sure to call me if you need anything while you are here. Don't hesitate Oh, and it is much more common in IVF patients but I didn't know that either till my diagnosis.

well, after 6.5 weeks, DH and I finally had sex! We were both terrified of getting pg due to the methotrexate, and now that it is safer (<2 more weeks til we can try!) AND we were on vacation, we got some action in. But we did use protection (boy I felt like a teenager going into the store with DH to buy condoms! I couldn't stop giggling. I kept saying "but everyone will know" and he kept saying "we are married, they already know!". Still I guess I am a bit immature about some things (although I seem to have no problems with all the Drs and nurses poking around down there...huh!).
Anyway, the photos will have to wait until tomorrow. I took over 400 photos, DH took over 100, and we have to download them (but I gotta recharge the battery first). Haven't had the yeast infections but have been having lots of CM and some pain where my ovaries are Wed and Thurs. I hope that is a good sign that I have ovulated since today is CD17, and the pain occurred around the time I normally ovulate. I am just hoping my body is getting back on its regular schedule. You girls are so funny- I just read all the parts about my absence to DH (kept the sex parts out of it...) and he just laughed. Oh, dinner just arrived. I can't wait to post those pics tomorrow. Then you can see how gorgeous Heidi and Shelly are (I am the funny looking one in the middle- but hey, I walked all day and even walked the Freedom Trail...).
