Sorry to have missed you jen. I hope you had a great time!!! What beaches did you go to in the Cape?
Uh, again on the sex, distance and intimacy thing... My Dh is more intimate with his laptop that me. Shelly, I know what you mean about a feeling of disconnect. It's been here on and off for the last several months. It's like we are roomates for now. I hope it gets better. I feel like we are just waiting for something... ANyone else feel that way? Just waiting and then something will happen to make everything alright? Ughhh... I can't wait to see the pics. I will be home tomorrow night!

First trimester to have sex because of uterine contractions? I haven't heard that. I'll ask that when I get back in the Drs office.

Okay- here are the photos I promised. The photo in Cheers goes: Shelly, me, Bob (random guy who decided he needed to be in our picture), and Heidi.
The other photo is PROOF that I was in the Atlantic ocean, at 60 freakin' ice cold degrees. The beach was Nauset Beach in Orleans. I can't believe the sunburn we got! Mine has turned into a rash- what the hell? I grew up in South Florida and used to tan all the time. Now I can't even hold my purse over my shoulders (ouch) and have this splotchy rash that itches all over. Oh, but the sand was great! I remember at Ft. Lauderdale beach having sand in every oriface and it itching. On the Cape, once the sand dried it just fell right off. And virtually no sand in my swim suit! I was surprised at how big the waves got and how close to shore they broke. I was standing just at the base of the water for probably 30 minutes before I got the nerve to go in (actually a wave pushed me in) and I kept getting splashed higher and higher. The force of the waves pushed pretty big rocks up toward the beach and my feet got a bit bruised from getting smacked with them. DH didn't like that so he went in first where the rocks weren't getting him. Then we went over to the Bay (Rock Harbor) where it was low tide. We got to walk so far out. We took tons of photos while the tide slowly creeped back in. By the time we decided to go back it looked like we were in Waterworld! It was really neat. The other thing I had to say was that I was surprised how small Logan Airport was. DIA (Denver) is huge and really nice. I just expected Logan to be on the same lines...oh, well. Oh, yeah. I did straighten my hair that morning. The humidity in Boston took hold and started to curl it. I gave up on the Cape and just went with wavy hair...

Sunny....I am not sure that the information given is correct or maybe it is just for some. DH and I had relations 3 days after 1st beta, and we did our first beta a few days early. (Sorry...TMI) We have relations almost everyday....and our baby is fine.
So, don't blame yourself. I am sure it was not from that.

Trish, thank you for the reassurance, that's what I needed to hear. I think for my sanity sake I'll just have to convince myself it was probably chromosonal. Although, if I do IVF or FET again, I'm going to do bed rest/pelvic rest forever just in case. It's horrible running through all the what-ifs. Did I walk too much, work too much, not do my shots right, aaaarrrgh.
Jen, Logan airport stinks. It's getting better but it was one big construction zone not long ago.

Wow, I was laughing reading some of the posts and nodding my head in agreement to the others.
After our last meeting together on Tuesday with the dr I saw a completely different side of my DH. I have never seen him so sad, not even when we lost the baby in January. We were driving home and he threw his hands up and said I don't know how to fix this, this is out of my reach. He mentioned that he doesn't think he wants to go through this anymore and doesn't want me to go through this. I'm hoping it was in the heat of the moment. We had the shot today so I guess no bd'ing for at least 2 weeks they said and then the whole barrier protection thing, yeah I'll probably giggle all the way to the store, and back, and while.... I guess the good thing is that I'm going away for the week so that'll take our minds off of it.

Thanks for posting the pictures JenCat! Everyone looks great... other than Bob
I am so glad you all got to meet up. It really makes a difference to be able to share this roller coaster experience with someone (other than our poor DHs). I am eternally grateful to have Havanajims in the same town as me since I really didn't know but one other person to ever go through IVF. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Hey Girls. Thanks for the photo. I am so glad you were able to meet up. It never fails, wherever you go there is always a 'Bob'. Too funny....
![]() Shelly, go get a bottle of Probiotics. They are also known to be great for developing babies, so they can be taken all during PG. They are good for a long list of things. Everyone should take them. Especially after taking a antibiotic which wipes out the good bacteria with the bad. Sunny I remember reading that somewhere, but I do not believe it. My DH and I did all through our first two children without missing a day I am sure. And my kids are fine. Hardheaded, but fine! LOL My FD told me wait until beta, so that is what we did. My DH would not let me wait another day. He is very needy as I have said. Drives me crazy because I could totally go without right now!Jencat, sounds like you had a great trip. Weird about the rash. Maybe there was some odd seaweed or something you could not see in the water? Auburn girl, my DH goes through the same thing. I think it is their desire to protect us. I am sure you can talk to him. Just reassure him he does not have to 'fix' everything and whatever will be, will be. Susan I am sorry about the roomate thing, but in someways I am jealous too. I love my DH dearly, but right now I guess I am a little more emotionally needy. The whole TTC thing makes us put our bodies into a whole different perspective, and it is not a sexy one! Especially after a loss. ![]()

Hi all, hope everyone is having a great weekend.
DH takes our one and only car to work on the weekends, and if we're not ready early enough to take him (need to be up at 5:30AM), we have to just mill around the house all weekend and do walks to entertain ourselves. Jen, today it is sooooooo humid, you would really have loved it. So needless to say, not alot going on here, just some relunctant cleaning and tidying up with the AC on. Well, I think I'm getting the beginnings of AF. Definately some spottage and extra discomfort going on today. Just thought you would all want to know, ha ha. No one else cares. Shelly, I don't have any advice about the YI. Hope you get some relief soon. Um, has anyone been experiencing hair loss. I'm wondering if it's relating to the pregnancy hormones having left the building. After I had DD for a while my hair started falling out in clumps. I didn't think it was noticable until I went to my hairdresser and she said something. I asked my DH if he'd noticed at the time, and he said he had around the front and then he pointed out the areas. Thanks! I think it's common when people stop BFeeding, but I wasn't expecting it this time around. Then again, it could be stress. I've had a fair amount of it, as have all of you. Also, I don't have a struggle with weight usually, but I still look 4 months pregnant. I'm still having to suuck in when around the extended family. That might even out after AF, but the 10lbs won't budge. I'm only worrying because it's not evenly distributed. It's all tummy, hips and legs. I'm thinking that's where the hormones make it stick. Mostly, it's the fact that my inlaws could ask if I'm pregnant when they see me and because I don't want to buy extra clothes. I'd prefer to wear more than the one pair of stretchy pants. I've also been wearing some gastly tight underclothes to pull everything in. Like something grammy would have worn!

Sunny - Have you thought about getting your thyroid checked? I know all these hormonal fluctuations can play havoc on the rest of your body. When my thyroid is off, my first sign is that my hair is falling out. Plus, not being to lose those last 10 lbs. is a very typical sign of a slow thyroid (hypothyroidism) and being tired. Is this all starting to sound familiar? Just a thought. It's a simple blood test and a condition that occurs in 25% of all women. It might at least give you some answers and can definitely affect IF. And, it's a lot easier than squeezing into the uncomfortable granny panties every day!

Peachy, I've had my thyroid function tested a number of times over the last few years with the IF workups each time I change RE's (that would be 4 I think), but not lately. I'll definately mention it to my RE on Friday, I believe there are thyroid issues in the family too.

Hi girls! back from the Cape where it was like pea soup today! Yuck. Sunny, you are right it was soo humid today.
Jen I am glad that you had a great time in the Cape, Nauset Beach is one of my favorites. The sand is soooo smooth. Thanks for the pics too. Sunny, I had a ton of hairloss with all of the hormones. I did get my thyroid checked and I was slightly hypo. They say pregnancy can temporarily affect your thyroid, but it usually goes back to normal. Get it checked anyway. Grits, I would like to know more about Probiotics, what they are and where I can get some! Hi to Peachy, Shelly and Auburngirl! Did I forget anyone??? Susan
