Impending miscarriage.....

Hi - I'm new to this site but due to the sad news I received yesterday I really am looking for support (other than my dh).

Yesterday I went in for my 6 1/2 week U/S. Well the technician was very quiet & my gut was telling me this was not a good sign. I was right!! The doctor met with my dh & me and told us that there was no heartbeat & the embryo apparently did not hold & it also appears that I have a small clot. So, now I have to wait & see if I m/c naturally in the next week & if not then I have to have a d & c. I am absolutely heartbroken. My first pregnancy (after ttc for 2yrs) resulting in a m/c. My husband did not appear to be upset (& this upset me). He told me that it was meant to me & we can try again.
The doctor also said that the good thing is that my body is saying that I am capable of getting pregnant. I just don't feel very hopeful right now. My dh & I did not tell anyone we were pregnant so this is even harder for me as I really have no one to talk to about this as well. I am glad we didn't tell anyone, we were waiting to get past the first trimester. To tell people I was pregnant & then m/c would have made me cry even more!

I'm so sorry you are going through this. You'll find a lot of support here from people who have gone through a similar experience. There are also many girls here who have had more than one miscarriage and gone on to have successful pregnancies. After my missed miscarriage I really needed a plan to move forward with. But I know for know you'll just be dealing with the impending miscarriage. It's not easy. Sometimes our DH's just don't fully uderstand how this hurts us or at least don't know what to do about it. Their minds work differently, but I'm sure he is hurting too hidden down deep.

I just wanted you to know that there is always hope.

We are always here if you need to talk.

High hopes,
I'm sorry to hear about your losses, I know how you feel. We have also had 2 miscarriages this year. The first one had a "weak" heartbeat, which we followed for a couple of weeks until it stopped. I tried the meds to induce m/c, which didn't work (and sent me to the emergency room). Finally ending in a D&C. The second never had a heartbeat, and after stopping progesterone, the m/c happened. My husband also reacted differently than me. He didn't bond the same way and was less emotional. It doesn't mean they care any less, they just deal with things differently. Try to hang in there, and eventually you'll be able to look toward the future and decide what path you should take. We are in the middle of our first IVF and are doing lots of testing to rule out chromosomal issues! Things really do get better, good luck!!

Thank you everyone for your support. I really appreciated it & it made me feel less alone. I know that others have been in a similar situation or worse but it's nice to have a community like this to share experiences & support one another.

I am sorry you are going through this right now. This forum is full of supportive women. I went through the same thing back in January. And while I thought I would never recover, I am now about to start my next IVF. Take the time you need to heal and to get strong. We are all here for you!

High Hopes,
I am sorry you and your DH have to go through this. Each time I MC DH and I reacted so differently. DH would try to comfort me and all it would do is make me mad. I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry all day long. We did tell family each time and that was worse. The all tried to say the "right" thing and it always came out wrong. The truth is there is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better.
Take your time to grieve your loss. You have already bonded with the little one and even though he/she was unable to make the journey your little bean was and will always be a part of you. Again, I am sorry you have to go though this. If you need someone to talk to, you can PM me.
