How long before seeing the OBGYN?

How long after you get a positive home pregnancy test is it typical for your OBGYN to schedule your first appointment? I thought that they use to have to confirm it with a blood test, but have recently heard differently. Do they just take the home pregnancy test at its word? Please help.

Heart

Gina,
If you've had trouble conceiving, I'd call ASAP!
Good luck! Glad to hear of a BFP!

All doctors are difference. You can request a blood test for a second opinion. Beyond that normal OB's normally wait until you are in your second month around 8 weeks to see you in their office. For those of us struggling with IF and seeing an RE it's much sooner.

I would call my doc right away. My doc always said that he didn't trust just the pregnancy test, although with my first we used a home test first and it said I was pregnant.

When I came up pregnant "au naturalle" almost 3 yrs ago, I called my ob/gyn office and they scheduled me to come in at the 6 or 7 week mark (counting from LMP). I went in that day, though, and had them do a pregnancy test cuz I was just so shocked! That was it.

Good luck!
