I'm sure that is a very strange feeling. Sex is what we do with the positive O isn't it... Soon that will be the case again. I'm glad you're back on the path though. Good Luck!

Lisa, I wish I could be of more help but I wasn't ever an IVF patient. I have often wondered what the different acronyms mean. If you want to you could ask on the After Fertility Treatments > January Due Date Buddies forum. I know that almost everyone on there is IVF and would probably be happy to help you out. Good luck!

Lisa- Look at the top of the page to the left. There is an acronyms tab that is underlined. It has them all.

So yesterday was 5 weeks since my d&c, and no period yet. And my OB still wants me to wait 3 months before they do anything about me not having a period. I understand why they would want to do that and it would make sense for a woman with a regular cycle, but my cycles are all over the place and sometimes I need provera to get a period anyway. I am going to call my GYN this week if I don't get my period. I feel like I need to have some control in this situation and right now I don't. Even if I just had a prescription in my hand I would feel better even if I didn't fill it.

In other news, my OB is saying now that he sees no reason to do any kind of special monitoring the next time I am pregnant. My GYN suggested that they monitor my hormone levels and specifically take notice of my progesterone so they could treat that if it was a problem. The OB sees no reason to do that. I like the guy but I feel like he's ignoring my medical history and treating me like a woman with no fertility issues. In fact, he said he wouldn't feel the need to do any testing on me until I've had 2 or 3 miscarriages which I thought was ridiculous.

I'm thinking of making another appointment with my GYN just to talk and see if he can do some monitoring while I am pregnant next time while also seeing my OB. I'm so frustrated and have been near tears since my appt on friday (which did show that my utertus and cervix are back to normal).

Anyway, Vanessa, how are you doing? Getting ready for the big ultrasound this week?

moriarty... that is a very frustrating stand for the dr's to be taking. I really feel for you. I would have to say that I might look into some other options for medical care. There are so many good and compassionate ob/gyn's out there. It is so important to feel a good connection with them since you see them so frequently when pg. I have a friend who has had 2 mc's in the last 3 months and she recently got signed up with an RE to evaluate her fertility issues. She feels much better after making that proactive move. She mentioned that her insurance is covering much of the testing that they are currently doing (nothing ivf related).
As for me... things here are progressing beautifully. The baby is moving quite a bit every day. Dh has seemed a little underwhelmed lately but I think it is just a lot of work stress and probably stress about an impending newborn that he is not communicating. Can't complain about him in general though because he has been wonderful and very compassionate. I am getting very excited for the big U/S this week so I can finally start doing some gender specific shopping.

I am crossing my fingers for you that things will progress naturally this week. I really think you should consider getting some referrals for other obg's in the area. Good luck!

So just a little confused by your post let me know if I got this right. You tested on CD9 with BFN or DPO 9 w/BFN and then again on CD 15 or DPO15

Thanks Vanesssa, I know that looking at other doctors is an option and maybe something I should look into. I just really like the community of doctors associated with this particular hospital, which is why I picked this OB (who was also recommended by my GYN).

It's just frustrating because my GYN who knows my history thinks one set of things should be done and thinks there is certainly reason to monitor me more closely but he no longer does obstetrics. Maybe I really need to make another appointment with him to talk about what the OB said. Who knows, maybe he would be willing to do some monitoring of me early on while I was pregnant in conjunction with my OB.

It's just so hard, because I have lost faith in my body's ability to do what it is supposed to, so when someone tells me to just wait it out, it's hard to take.

Anyway, let us all know what the u/s says. So Exciting!

so, ahem, a little bit of (naive) optimism here.

i've had pretty consistent cm since the d&c. some days it has seemed ewcm, some days sticky, other days creamy. the only thing that has seemed to be do what it is supposed to is my cervical position. about two weeks ago (a little less actually), i have my second set of positives on the opk, but that time, when i checked cervical position, it was very high and very soft.

i've been checking consistently since then. a day or two after that, it became firm again but still high and since then it's gotten a little lower.

then...last night, it's really low and firm. so to make a long story short.

i think that maybe, just maybe, my period is about to come.

It's a GIRL!! It took a long time for them to finally be sure. She was hiding everything. Feet crossed legs pulled together and the cord was right there between the legs too. Anyway... she finally moved a little and we got the news. We will name her Stella Marie. Everything else looked very good and I'm up to 13 lbs gained.
