i just got back from the doctor. i have a cyst on my right ovary, which the doctor was actually somewhat pleased about since it means that my ovary responded to the clomid and isn't just being dormant anymore.

since i have some pregnancy/PMS symptoms like the weepiness, breast tenderness, fatigue, etc., he wants me to wait around for af, and if she hasn't shown up by the end of the month, take another pregnancy test and possibly another ultrasound.

while i am disappointed, his being pleased with how things are coming makes me a little less pessimistic.

well it seems that you and I are in the same boat.
I love that we have the same thing going on.
My cyst is on my right ovary as well.

I did some research last night. I found out that a luteal cyst only exists after ovulation the actual release of a egg (yeah we ovulated) . The cyst can also cause af to be late, and is still producing hormones which are just like pg systoms.

I think af will be coming to me within the next day or two. My temp dropped today. I am really okay with it because my dh bday is dec 2 and ds is jan 1. So I dont think the baby would have liked his bday in between and so close to xmas. Now I just want af to come so I can fill my clomid and get my $25 gift card from CVS. Funny yesterday I went and bought another hpt. I guess I shouldve brought pads.hehehehe.

So how is your day today? Dont worry it will happen for you. You will have a baby. You are ovulatory. That is great!! Remember every month we only have 12-13% chance of concieving.
It takes a "normal couple" at least 1 year to concieve. So lets just have fun bding since we are ovulatory now. I guess we are "normal" for now.

at least we are still in it together . Hopefully youre pg . But if not we will be together for next month.

i'm actually in a much better mood today than yesterday. i did talk to my gyno about what the GI said, and he really felt that there was no reason to stop trying and that the other doctor was being overly cautious. he was really pleased with my diet and exercise regime, and told me i could call him as often as i needed to ask questions.

he also mentioned that the ovary was probably producing hormones (like you mentioned) which was the cause of my cramping, and the extended PMS symptoms while i was hoping for a pregnancy, i am pleased that this means that things are working out, and that my body is finally doing what it is supposed to be doing. i am eagerly awaitng af at this point so that i can start clomid round 2. i actually left the office in good spirits rather than being disappointed.

and hooray for us being ovulatory! i really like talking to you on this on this forum. i go to several others and if you're not a regular, everyone ignores your posts. so the fact that you and i have similar things going on and can update each other, that's reassuring.

well how are you today?? I really pretty good I am started today so I am going to fill my clomid and start over. I am so glad it is FRIDAY. I thought it would never get here. I so need the weekend to myself but no such luck. DH is working overnights this week. So it will be me and my little guy.

I have been meaning to ask you something? When you took clomid did it make you crazy moody. I get so moody. Then I get like that again right before I o. Wierd huh? I am so bloated this month.

I really enjoy talking to you too. I find it kinda funny that we have almost the same stuff going on. I wanted to ask you also why are you taking clomid?
I was diagnosis with pcos (lucky me yea!) so I dont ovulate at all.

I think we need a new thread.

Congrats to both of you, moriarty and Lorrivillarreal on ovulating!! I find the whole O thing a bit confusing and I enjoy reading and learning from your posts!! Glad things are looking positive for you, keep it up, your enthusiasm will pull through! And, I'll agree with you on the Clomid effects, gave me hot flashes while taking it and then I had 2-3days of pure moodiness, very cranky!! I wish you both luck!!

Oh, and re:" i go to several others and if you're not a regular, everyone ignores your posts." I couldn't agree more, I tried other forums and just got ticked off, felt like they were all in some sort of "groupie" thing. This is the best forum by far!!

gingerj: good to meet you! while i understand that people form relationships on these forums, its disheartening when you go to a site because you want support and have questions, and you're ignored because you're new. i'm glad that here people don't tend to do that.

lorrie: well congrats on starting and getting ready for that clomid! i actually had some minor spotting tonight and am hoping that af comes by tomorrow so i can call my doc and get my script for clomid. i have never looked forward to af more than right now. i was so worried that the clomid hadn't worked, and now, rather than being disappointed about the bfn, i am happy that the medication is working.

it's so funny to find someone who has such a similar experience and very nice to be able to share these things, now when i think my body has gone wacky, i know someone i can check with to verify. to answer your questions, i am taking clomid because i haven't menstruated on my own since november and haven't ovulated on my own since i did once last summer. i don't have any diagnosis, just lack of ovulation. my doc isn't really sure why since my bloodwork is always normal, as was my ultrasound. he's hoping that this is caused by the evil ortho evra patch (which i loved when i was on).

last month was my first round of clomid and i was all ready for the side effects both you girls mentioned, but i had one hot flash and that was it. so i guess i lucked out. no moodiness or anything.

too bad this pms or this cyst is causing hormonal havoc. i am so ready for af. my bb's are tender, i have been bloated, cramping, and annoyingly weepy (dh LOVES that). if tomorrow, af really comes, i will do a happy little dance all over my house.

well i woke up this morning with awful cramps, tried to handle it without any medication, but then took some because the cramps were making me cranky and my dh was getting annoyed with me snapping at him. i've had a very very slight flow, so i will see for sure tomorrow. bb still tender, and still weepy, hoping that leaves in a day or two.

do you know if taking the clomid earlier in your cycle makes you ovulate a bit earlier? we just discovered that if i am starting today and i take the clomid days 5-9, and ovulate around the same time as the doctor thinks i did last time, i will ovulate two days into a long weekend visiting my folks (without my dh). so i am hoping that if taking it earlier makes me ovulate a day or two earlier, i will be able to cover my bases.

and i have heard that cysts can cause heavier flow and more intense cramps, since they do continue to produce hormones. so maybe that is what's happening with you.

well i have always taking it days 3-7 of my cycle. the first month i o'd on day 14 exactly. Then last month I o'd on day 13. So I am not really sure but it would make sense to that you'd o earlier on days 3-7. on the clomid sites that i have found it states "that you should/will o in 5-10 days after you take the last pill".
so to me if you take it earlier then you finish it earlier then you o earlier. Does that make sense??
With me it seems that i have been o'ing in 6-7 days from taking the last pill.

You know when is light i cramp real bad. When is heavy hardly any cramps just really bloated. Wierd huh? (TMI) Well i start taking my pills tonight. I like it better at night not so many side effects just the moody, hot flashes.

hope you had a good weekend? I spend mine with my ds. dh is working 12-hr shifts for 7 days straight overnights. So i really havent seen him. I miss him. But at least he missed the wrath of .
I have been with dh for 12 years and married for 2 1/2 years it will be 3 on 10/16. it was really wierd being together for so long b4 getting married. We just never
thought about it until ds started asking ?s about our last names being different. Then we got married through the church and everything.

So how long have you and your dh been married?

we've been married almost 3 years (in june). we've been together 7 years. we met in college and knew each other for a year and a half before we started dating. he usually works a part time job on the weekends but this weekend he had off. even though i was miserable with af, it was nice to have two days where neither one of us was working. we're doing home renovations so whenever we have free time, i am always dragging him to flooring stores, bathroom places, etc.

as for af, she and i were NOT friendly this weekend. my cramps were so bad. usually i cramp the first day and that's it, but it's been 3 days and the cramps are still coming. my flow was pretty light on my first day, but its been pretty heavy for the past two days. i thought maybe it was so intense due to the cyst on my ovary? not sure though. isn't it funny that we started at the same time too?

i talked to my doc about the clomid today and he said that it wouldn't make my O any sooner, even though i have read the same things you have, about it making you O within 7-10 days after you finish your last pill. last time i O'd about 7 days after the last pill.

i know i really should be following his orders, but i am so tempted to take it earlier.

so what does you ds think of having a sibling?

*edit*- i've decided to be a bad patient and take it 3-7, shhh, don't tell.

Talking

I was thinking the same thing as you. We started at the same time. It is so weird (lol)!!! Anyways, I will not tell anyone that youre taking it 3-7. I love it because so am I.

Ds(AJ) short for Andrew Jesse. He is a junior. Well he is in love with the idea of us having a baby. I think it is more that he will have someone to boss around. He is an only child so any kid is a thrill for him.

Did you hear about Virginia Tech? That is so sad. Crazy people in this world. Kinda freaked me out. I work at an University (Texas Tech).

I was talking to my sister last night. She said well you should try not thinking about it this month. i was like what I have to temp every month and then test for my surge. It is so difficult not to think about it everyday. She doesnt understand because she has 4 kids and had to tie her tubes to quit getting pregnant.
She so doesnt understand what it is like to want a child. I was just waiting for the "just be grateful you have one". Like wanting a bigger family is a bad choice or something but she didnt. thank God because I would have gone hormonal on her.

well my dh picked up my prescription last night and i took it, so i am definitely on days 3-7.

that's great that you ds is excited about a baby. and i'm sure when said baby gets older, he will have a wonderful time bossing them around.

that must be really frustrating about your sister. i only have a few friends and my parents who know about our problems. none of those friends are parents and my mother is very understanding. i would probably get very angry if someone told me to just relax. the problem with that is when you're not ovulating due to a medical reason, all the relaxation in the world isn't going to make you ovulate, and you have to take appropriate measures. some people have a hard time envisioning how difficult it is for some because it was so easy for them. i'm sure we are all like that in some regarding over some subject.

well i haven't really been charting. i was concerned that doing all that would stress me out too much, and that i woud be really upset when things didn't indicate the right thing. so at first, we would just bd every other day for two weeks.

but i do use the opk's now, and doing i bought a bbt thermometer. it's already cd5, do you think its too late to start using that?

i hope to o cd14 or just before, otherwise i will be in florida while my dh is at home.

oh, i wanted to ask. the clomid sort of dries up the ewcm, so i was wondering when i should start taking the robitussin. my doctor said i should do it only around the days i think i might ovulate, but i like to get a woman's perspective.
